Day 2 In Tokyo

Was unable to sleep the night before but still managed to get up earlier to prepare for my official trip. After finishing up some work in my hotel room, I went to our office building to meet Yoshikawa-san & Miyazaki-san for lunch.

I was lucky that Tetsuya showed me the way to office yesterday and though it was quite a walk from my office, but the weather in Japan is so cooling that I really didn’t mind walking. When I arrived at the office building, there were 4 security guards and 5 receptionists at the lobby.

When Hirata-san (coordination dept) came down to escort me up to the office, I had to pass through security check point to obtain a pass to enter the office. Miyazaki-san’s office was on the 18th floor and was really surprised that it was extremely quiet. It is really different from our office in Singapore.

Yoshikawa-san invited me to Mitsubishi Club for lunch. I learnt from Miyazaki-san that the Mitsubishi Club is exclusive for Board Members only and I was really honored to have lunch there. The view at the club was really fantastic. I was able to have a great view of the Imperial Palace and indeed pretty.


Later in the afternoon, I was accompanied by Fukada-san & Sawada-san to visit Tokyo Gas’s LNG terminal. I was really excited to visit the terminal as it’s my 1st time visiting it. We met up with Shirakawa-san of TG at Kawasaki train station and took a taxi to the terminal. The cab ride was about 20 minutes from the train station.

When we arrived at the terminal, TG was really kind to do a presentation on the terminal. It was really interesting but what I enjoyed was the real visit to the berth on a boat ride. Sawada-san did a great job explaining to me while we were touring the terminal. I was really amazed by how big the tankers and the offshore berth were and best part of it, they promotes eco-friendly environment.




After the visit at the terminal, we were invited to dinner hosted by Shirakawa-san. I enjoyed communication with TG people and as well as with Fukada-chan & Sawada-san. Simply great!!! The night ended with Sawada-san sending me back to my hotel. I really enjoyed the train ride with him and man… he is really funny. Very happy to meet him…
