Happy Blessed Birthday Za!

Yes! It’s my best ‘twin’ cum buddy’s birthday today and I am really happy that I can be part of the celebration. We met up for brunch at Wild Honey South Beach. Well, I would say this is the first time visiting South Beach though I used to work around that area.

South Beach is new to me and it took me a while before I managed to find Wild Honey where it was situated at the other corner of the building. This restaurant is smaller than the other branches though they have more tables outdoors.

We ordered our usual favourite from Wild Honey to share and I would say that their menu seems a little different from the other branches too but at least they do have our favourites… hahaahahah…

I would say that we are able to meet on a weekday late morning is partly due to Covid-19 as their office are encouraging staff to work from home to avoid being infected. It is quite relaxing to sit and chill with friends without having to rush back to work on a weekday. It was a simple birthday brunch but it felt great to hang out even for a short time.

After our delicious brunch, we did some errands and our last stop was Raffles City. We stopped by at Hysses to get the essential oil stuff and I managed to use my birthday month discount for the purchase. I am really missing the oils from this shop as I used to buy them at CompassvaleOne but the shop is closed last year… Sighz…
Anyway, Happy Blessed Birthday Za! Love ya!

Homemade Soya Bean

I have always wanted to try making soya bean milk at home but decided to leave it aside after reading the recipe. Though it may sound pretty easy to make but when you really get on to doing it, it can be quite tiring in terms of squeezing the milk out of the muslin cloth.

Anyway, I finally made it today and it was pretty breeze. It did not take long before my soya milk is ready for consumption. I am happy that I have Thermomix to help me with the process and all I need is to squeeze the milk out of the muslin cloth. It was so easy to make soya milk at home and I am sure I will be doing this very often!
The texture was so smooth and by adjusting the sugar level yourself is the perfect thing! I would say it tasted better than those from the stalls. :)

Soya milk anyone?

Birthday and Valentine’s Lunch

It’s almost St. Valentine’s Day and I made some muffins for my buddies in the office and can’t wait to meet them for lunchie.

As usual, we are back at Kith Millenia Walk again and this time, I am happy to have Koko to join us for lunch. She is always busy with work and it’s really hard to get her out of the office on time to lunch together. I do hope that her work will be less stressful so she has more time to spend with friends and colleagues.

I am really touched that they celebrated my birthday though it’s a date late but it’s the thought that counts and I felt the LOVE! Hahahaahahah…. Thanks KK for the delicious cake from Conrad!!! So delicious but pretty expensive too! We did not waste a bit… we finished the whole cake and in return, I gave them my love muffins as their Valentine’s Day gift. 😊
I am ever so thankful for having such great pals whom I grew with during my days at MC and very happy that we are still so close though we do not meet as often as we would love to due to our own commitments. I wish you guys to stay healthy and Covid-19 FREE.
Let’s meet up again soon! Love you guys!

Welcome Back Boss

I am so happy to receive the news that my ex-boss will be visiting SIN during CNY and it’s party time for us! I am missing those days when I was working with him and we had so much fun in and out of the office. He is such a nice and cool boss to work with as he will arrange some ‘Happy Hour’ for staff to join him and he told us this is the time where we all can relax and get to know each other better. How cool!

We simply love to celebrate CNY with him as he is very much into Chinese Culture and he enjoys celebrating CNY in SIN. He used to visit Chinatown during CNY to watch the Lion Dance which is one of his favourite item. This time, we are all super excited to celebrate CNY with him on his business trip to SIN.

He invited us to his apartment and we brought food over to share. When we arrived, boss is all ready to receive us with chilled wine on the table and some cheese platter. It reminded us of those good old days we used to enjoy our happy hour after work.

We began the celebration with the Lo Hei and this is one of the dishes that boss missed so much when he returned to Japan. This would be the 1st time he is trying my food and he loved it! Woohoo!!! I brought over the oil-free honey chicken and salmon rice. I am really happy that everyone enjoyed the food though it is just simple dishes from a homemaker. 😊
Thank you boss for having us today and we hope to see you every CNY! Take good care and stay safe!

Rambutan CNY Lo Hei Dinner

What is CNY without meeting up with buddies for Lo Hei right!

It has become a yearly affair that we will meet up for Lo Hei during CNY as it’s pretty much difficult for us to do visiting to each other’s place in the recent years as we have our own commitments. Who wouldn’t want a longer CNY holiday right!

East Ocean is almost our fixed venue for our yearly Lo Hei as we enjoyed their organic Teo Cheow style Yusheng where they served more greens than the usual ones. I love their dressings as it is so refreshing and you can’t really stop eating the salad… ahahahahahahah
This year, Birdie was unable to join us due to some engagements and it’s left with the four beauties… hahahahaahah we ordered the usual dishes and it was quite a good time to catch up with each other before any lock down. We are just hoping that there will not be any lock down in Singapore and the cases will not be as scary as other counties.
Due to the Covid-19, we noticed that the restaurant’s business is somehow hit by it too as it wasn’t as crowded as the previous years when we visited. Everyone is afraid to head out and preferred to stay home to avoid being infested by this terrible virus.

After dinner, as I headed down to get some stuff at the basement of Takashimaya, it was so rare to see less people shopping around and no queues for many stalls. It was a breeze to shop but at the same time, I want to get home as soon as possible too.

Meanwhile, please stay safe and lets pray for this Covid-19 to be over soon!
