A Truly Blessed Day

We started the day with a special children’s mass at St. Anne’s Church. It was a special mass organized by the catechists and celebrated by Father Bruno. The mass was really sweet and warmth. It wasn’t just a simple mass for children but it somehow taught the children the meanings of the mass and why it is important to stay quiet all the time.
After mass, we headed down to town (which we don’t do that often during weekends) for the Night Fest. We dined at Fish & Co. at Raffles City and we enjoyed our dinner especially mummy and kiddos who gave thumps up for their fish and chips. 😊

It was still early for Night Fest so, we decided to walk around and slowly take our stroll to Bras Basah where the event was held. When sunset, the streets of Brash Basah came alive! We sat outside the S.A.M (formerly known as SJI) to watch the lights display and it was really beautiful! The kids were having a great time watching the lights as well as the music that was playing throughout the light displays.
After checking out a few areas, we decided to head back home. As mass has ended at Cathedral, we walked in and saw some of the people holding candles and offering us to put candles to support Peace & Love for the world. We did as we were told and as we were almost done, I noticed that our William Archbishop was around the area taking selfies with everyone and I hurried to queue up.
He was so friendly and warmth. I really felt so blessed to be able to have a picture taken with him and best of all, he gave our family a beautiful blessing after we were done taking wefie with him. Honestly, I felt the Holy Spirit came through me that very moment he placed his hand on my forehead and I know that God was there with us.

Thank you, Lord for this wonderful evening we spent with the family and it was you who brought us to our Archbishop for blessings and we felt your love Lord.

Casual Gathering With Friends & Family

It’s always nice to have friends and family over to chill or hang out. This time, being Hari Raya Haji and it was a public holiday, we invited some close friends and family over to our place to chill. 😊

We decided to do potluck style. We prepared some food on our end and the rest brought theirs. As usual, we had more than enough for the whole village to feed. It was really quite a spread of varieties of food and it was somehow impossible to finish all.

I baked and made some new desserts for the crowd and I was happy to receive good feedback from everyone. The chocolate cup desserts were quite a popular dessert and it was almost gone by the time my family arrived in the late afternoon to join the party.
My parents in law had so much fun playing mahjong with Linda and Florence while the kids hang out with Mizuki and the rest of us just sat and chat the day away.
Though it was a simple gathering at our place but it was certainly enjoyable and precious time spent together. I do hope we can have more of such gathering in the near future to keep close bonding with one another.

Thank you everyone for coming today and we had a blast!

Night Fest Back To School

It is always enjoyable and fun spending time with my buddies whom I know since I started learning my school subjects… yes… I would consider them as my growing up pals and now I regards them as part of my family.

We always try to meet up but as usual, everyone is busy with their own commitment and today, we met for dinner at Papa Rich located at Plaza Singapura. I dined at this restaurant before but found it pretty much pricey for local food but the food is not too bad at this branch. 😊

After our dinner, we wanted to have desserts elsewhere but ended up wandering around at the Night Festival instead. We enjoyed strolling along Orchard Road like we used to do during the weekends after movie or dinner. Those were the SUPER GOOD OLD DAYS! I am really missing those days but I am really happy that I am still walking down the streets of Orchard with my buddies now.

As our journey continues, we stopped at the SAM (used to be SJI) and waited for their laser show and it was fantastic! I really love the lights and how beautifully they painted the building with it. The music reminded me of those days where we had the Singapore Swing after National Day Parade… hahahaha… those were the sweaty moments but some very good memories indeed.

We walked towards our old school which turned into National Design Centre and a place for the yuppies to hang out. When we stepped foot onto the grounds, it brought back so much memories of our primary and secondary school lives. Every area has its memories and we talked about it as we explore.
I felt so emotional about coming back to ‘school’ and seeing what it has become was really a good feeling. We were happy that the building was preserved and turned into a design centre. We walked around the school and flashes of those memories just kept popping out. It was such a beautiful feeling and I would want to bring my kids here some day to show them my school.
What a night!

Grilled Salmon

Okay, the last time I cooked grilled salmon was not too good accordingly to my taste judge Lady Faith. This time, I was really happy that I was able to have the salmon grilled and the sautéed mushrooms were cooked perfectly.
Lady Faith was really happy with the attempt and she finished her whole plate of salmon and asked for more mushrooms. Very happy to have achieve this result and perhaps I will try to cook something else next time. 😊

St. Joseph’s Homes

What is more joyful than to spread some love to the homes. Hubby brought Lady Faith to St. Joseph’s Homes today to celebrate National Day with them.

With that, I humbly baked some brownies for the lovely people at the homes and hope they will like the cakes. Lady Faith has been following her dad to this home and she is pretty much familiar with the aunties and uncles who are members of SSVP.
I was happy to know that Zen (my God-son) also joined the fun at the homes and knowing that he is in the same ministry as hubby, it was a double joy to both Theresa and me.

Keep up the good work guys!

Little Adventure At Changi Airport

Little pumpkin’s school organized a field trip to Changi Airport Terminal 3 and I was really happy to join them for the outing. I remembered those days that I accompanied Lady Faith to her school outings and she was really happy to have me there.

It was the same reaction when little pumpkin saw me at the airport waiting at the appointed area and her face lighted up the moment she spotted me. Hahahahaah…. I joined the teachers and her friends for the simple tour around the airport.
They were introduced to how the airline counters where passengers check in and drop their bags for an exchange of the boarding passes. We continued the tour when we went up to the viewing decks. They were able to see the area after immigration and some of the kids said to the teachers that that was where they did their shopping before boarding the plane.

The kids got really excited when they saw the plane taking off at the viewing gallery and some of the kids even ran after the plane as it speeds off. It was pretty hilarious to watch. They brought the kids to take a Sky Train with no intention of exploring another terminal. It was just the ride for the kids as an experience.
After returning to T3, that summed up the 1-hour tour and the teachers brought some of the older kids to McDonald’s for lunch while the younger ones headed back to school. As I was there, I took little pumpkin on my own to have our lunch at Hello Kitty Café.
We were the 2nd pair of customers in the restaurant on a quiet weekday late morning and little pumpkin was really happy to be in this café. She was busy posing for pictures and spotted her talking to Kitty too… hahaahahahah
We ordered the simple dishes for lunch and I was pretty surprised that the food actually tasted good. I did not expect that the food was good as I usually do not have high standard for theme cafes. I was really happy with the service and the food we had and I will definitely be back with the family again.
