Outing By SVDP

Hubby is a member of SVDP in BSC and it’s a yearly affair that they will organize some outings for their fins. In the past, they organized outings to the Zoo, Underwater World at Sentosa and other events. This year, they organized the ‘Dinner on Cruise’.

They chartered a boat where they will serve dinner onboard and bring us around Singapore. When we arrived at Marina Bay pier, I was not feeling excited as I have sea sickness. I was already feeling unwell though the boat sailed off almost immediately after all onboard. However, I somehow felt better sitting at the back of the boat with some cool breeze.

The boat ride sailed pass places like the Sentosa Cove, Marina Bay Sands and it anchored at St. John’s Island where dinner was served. To be honest, dinner spread was good but I was feeling so unwell that I couldn’t eat much. I was seated at all times as Faith felt asleep with the cool breeze.

Finally, my stomach couldn’t take the terrible feeling anymore and I threw out… I felt so much better… Sighz… the overall few hours boat ride was not too bad except for my sea sickness…

Family Weekend Get-Away Day 2

I really enjoyed having breakfast with the whole family though I am never a breakfast person. I do enjoy the feeling of a family breakfast gathering. Usually, we will get to do that on a family trip otherwise; it’s very rare to get everyone to wake up for such an early gathering…

After breakfast, hubby & I decided to attend mass at St. Peter & Paul which is the nearest Catholic Church in the city besides St. Joseph & The Cathedral. While we were away for mass, Sheryl, Maggie and our parents brought the kids down to the hotel pool for a dip. Faith was really excited and can’t wait to get herself into her swim wear after she saw her cousin Shevaun wearing the cute little wet suit.

When we returned from church, they were already back to their room and Faith was somehow looking tired… like as if she had done a few laps… we went to Marina Square for some light lunch at McDonald’s and I noticed that Faith was almost dosing off.

We checked out around before 4pm and left for home. Faith was so tired that she knocked out right after I placed her down on her car seat.

Though it was a super short get away for the family but it was certainly an enjoyable one.

Family Weekend Get-Away

I arranged the weekend get-away at Conrad Hotel for my family. Sheryl who has never been to Conrad Hotel was really excited about the get away. On the other hand, little Faith was very excited about the stay coz’ she can play on the high bed again!

I checked in earlier to oversee everything and my family arrived for check in shortly. We were fortunate that the hotel assigned us on the same floor. We thought about bringing the kiddos for a swim but the weather was not too friendly.

We went to Suntec City Mall for a walk and it was somehow enjoyable for both the young and old. After about an hour of shopping with the kiddos, we went to chill at Coffee Bean at Millenia while waiting for hubby to arrive.

In the early evening, we walked to Shaw Centre for dinner. Hubby booked Overseas Restaurant for our family dinner and pre-ordered some of their signature dishes like the roast pork and char siew, their soup of the day, herbal braised duck.

We were surprised that we were seated in a private room though I was told that it was taken up. The room was cozy but not too spacious. Anyway, it was good enough to fit all of us. *winks*

The dishes we ordered were great and even the kids enjoyed it though the stupid rice… Plain RICE which cost ($2) per bowl! YES… you read it right, TWO DOLLARS! The rest of the food was reasonable priced except for the RICE.

After our delicious dinner, we returned to hotel to rest. However, hubby & I got our parents to look after Faith while we went out to watch soccer at Boulevard@Millenia Walk. We need to have some time too… *winks*

Peranakan Dinner Gathering

Steven tried to plan a monthly or quarterly dinner gathering with Minowa-san and this time, he arranged it to dine at ‘Peranakan’ at Keppel Club.
It was my first visit to this restaurant though I heard from Minowa-san couple of times about the durian dessert was very good. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t crowded and began to check out the menu…

My Kaiye ordered got everyone to choose a dish since most of us are first timers. Finally, we ordered rangdang beef & mutton, sambal kangkong, pan fried omelet, mixed vegetables, soup, chicken buakula etc… so much food and all were great!

All of a sudden, Susan held out a box of green buns. She told us that it was really nice and wanted all of us to give it a try. The green bun is called ‘Liu Sa Bao’… the bun is filled with creamy salty egg yolk. I was really addicted to it after my first bite! Mmmh… not only me but some of us began to get her to order for us… Anyway, I was enjoying my delicious durian jendo...

The dinner gathering was indeed a great one as everyone enjoyed the companionship of each other with the sumptuous food! Thumps UP!

Julia’s First Birthday

We were invited to join the birthday celebration of little Julia. The proud parents held the party at Evelyn’s place (Vivian’s sista) where they booked a function room.

Evelyn’s new nest Clover By The Park is located at the expensive district… Bishan. The place is beautifully designed with garden, 2 fun pools and 1 lap pool. We really like the function room that was well equipped with an oven. Met up with my colleague Linda who is staying there too..

When we arrived, some of my friends were already there. They ordered the delicious buffet spread from Chili Padi and I really enjoyed the beef rengdang. I was blessed that handsome Jayren was there to entertain Faith and took pretty good care of her.

Baby Julia was behaving very well and seemed to be very happy. She was smiling to everyone who greeted her… very good! When everyone was more or less settled down and had their lunch, the couple began the birthday celebration by inviting us to gather for the birthday song.

Congratulations Vivan & Jason and thanks for having us to be part of this celebration on Easter Sunday!
