Lady Faith’s First School Fun Fair

Today is a no school day for our Lady Faith and she is all excited about going for her school fun fair tonight. They are having this fun fair to raise funds for their school sports hall building funds.

I rushed home to pick her up after work and we were at her school speedily. It was already very crowded and there was a long queue for the Viking ride. We went to queue for it but Lady Faith gave up half way through the queue as she was afraid.

We went up to the school hall where Lady Faith was over excited when she saw the enormous floating slide and headed off to play. While waiting for her to finish her playtime, I was shopping around the same area for they set up little stalls that sells interesting stuff like plants, personalized bags, books and many other stuff. It was really fun to be there though we are not there to play physically but watching her having fun is good enough.

We went down to the canteen area to get some food and continued to play other ti-kam games where Lady Faith tried to shoot the balloon with water gun, throwing the ping pong ball into the plastic cups etc…
I was also happy to meet some of her classmates and happy to see them playing together. I am really missing my school fun fairs where we used to create our very own haunted house which collected the most money for the school fund raising.

Our Once Flower Girl Is Officially Married

I was overwhelmed by the news of once our flower girl for our wedding is getting married. I have seen her grow into a beautiful fine lady and it was back then when I remembered I used to join Theresa to baby sit her while her mum is busy with work.

When I got married with Leslie back in year 2000, I asked her mum to allow her to be our flower girl and she was one of the most beautiful flower girls I have seen. J I remembered her as a child but now, I was filled with awe when I saw her walking down the aisle with the man she decides to spend the rest of her life with.
The wedding was beautiful and I was fighting back joyful tears when they exchanged their wedding vows which reminded me of my own. So beautiful, So pure and So LOVE. Though we weren’t family but I do feel the connection with them.

The kids were happy to attend the wedding as they regarded the bride as the princess while the groom as the prince… hahahaah… it’s like a fairytale to them especially Lady Faith. I do love weddings too and it was really nice to catch up with friends whom you haven’t met for a long time.

Hoon Jie, a close friend whom we don’t get to meet often was present and I was overjoyed to see her after such a long time but unfortunately we weren’t able to stay long as hubby has other church engagement to attend to.

Anyway, we would like to wish this beautiful couple a blessed marriage and may God always watch over the two of you!

It’s A Wrap!

It’s been a great week holidaying with the family and today’s a wrap. Yes, holiday officially ends for the adults as we will be heading back to work next week. Arrrggghhh…

After our usual breakfast, the kids wasted no time the moment we stepped into our room. They went to get changed (without being told for once) and hurried themselves to the pool. We were happy to be given a late check out since our ferry will be in the afternoon.

While the kids were having a good time in the pool, we checked out their room service menu and decided to dine in before returning back to SIN. It is such a joy to see the kids enjoying themselves at the pool and I am sure we will be returning to this resort pretty soon.

I am happy to know that mum enjoyed the stat at the resort for this is her first time experiencing resort holiday compared to those shopping and sightseeing trips we had in the past. She mentioned that the resort is really nice and she found time to relax and rest. J

Mmmh… I guess we can explore more resort type holidays with mum in the near future. J

A Day Of Fun

It was a lovely day to wake up to and we went to have our breakfast at their cafĂ© though the spread isn’t the best we had. It was mum’s first visit to Montigo and she enjoyed the breakfast spread though there wasn’t much stuff that met her taste. J

While hubby and mum were still enjoying their breakfast, I brought the kids to the kids’ club to keep them occupied as they began to be pretty much restless after their quick bites. The kids’ club was quite cozy in my opinion and pretty nice place to chill for parents while your kids take charge.

It was a little ‘tree house’ style where you can get some drinks on the upper floor or perhaps just sit & read a book while the kids release their creativity with the crayons and papers provided or perhaps having a game of board games with their siblings while you rest on their comfortable cushions provided. There were two slides for the bigger kids and the slightly tiny ones. Though the space was limited but they definitely made good use of it to provide everything a child needs under one roof. J
The kids headed back to our room for their daily fun at the pool and they couldn’t stop swimming. They were having so much fun in the pool that they even had their lunch by the pool side… hahahaahah… Hubby & I had the luxury to go for our very much needed massage while the kids finally took their naps with grandma.

The massage was soooooooooooooooo good that I had a quick nap during the session and it was a pity that I didn’t get the cream bath done as the main spa is currently under renovation. I would love to have another massage tomorrow but unfortunately it was fully booked.

We decided to revisit the Chinese seafood restaurant as our first born requested as she simply love the lemon chicken from the restaurant (though the sauce was put on the side). Dinner was great as usual and headed back to our room to chill after a filled stomach…
Goodnight from Monitgo!

Hello Montigo

We are here once again after returning from Hong Kong. This time, we brought along mum to enjoy the time with us and hope she will have a good rest away from all the household chores.

It was a quick ferry ride of 30 minutes from Singapore and we arrived to Batam, Indonesia and were picked up by the hotel staff to the hotel right away. The resort is about 10 minutes away from the ferry terminal and we were lucky that we did not need to wait long for our room to be ready.
As this is mum’s first visit to Montigo, she was amazed by how huge the room was and told us that it was too big for just 5 of us. She liked the resort as she mentioned that it was quiet and comfortable. I arranged a cream bath for her but unfortunately, it wasn’t available as the spa is going through renovation. The treatments available were massages only but mum wasn’t keen on that.
The kiddos wasted no time after check-in and started to get changed and plunged into the pool. They were so excited but we were happy that they are having fun. While mum watched her grand-kids swim in the pool, we checked out restaurants for our dinner.

We decided to dine at the seafood restaurant where they served pretty good food in my opinion where price is reasonable. It was cozy but surprisingly to see many Singaporeans dining in this restaurant too. Most of them came in big family and some perhaps were friends.
After dinner, we headed back to our room to rest since we will be having a long day ahead of us tomorrow. It’s time to recharge and sleep.

Goodbye HK & Hello Home

Good times passed so quickly and our holiday officially coming to an end today. We will be taking the afternoon flight back to Singapore though we wished that we could stay a little longer.

Since breakfast is not included, we brought the kids out for a western breakfast this morning near our hotel and I would say that even their western breakfast tasted fantastic. Mmmh… you might say that I am biased but it’s a true fact. They made really good omelette and coffees. Our kiddos enjoyed their food so much that they finished every bit of it.
It was rare that we take breakfast or brunch in the morning besides going for dim sums and I thought it was a great feeling as we can sit and enjoyed people watching and experience how the people in HK live their lives.

After packing up, we checkout and headed to airport early so that we can have more time to have our lunch and do some last minute shopping. Lunch at the airport is always challenging as there is always a huge crowd queuing for food but we managed eventually. J
Now, it’s time to board and looking forward to be home in a few hours’ time. We will be back again in the near future!

Holidays Ending Soon…

A day after the typhoon no. 8 was a really cool sunny day. We are happy that the typhoon is over and we are able to spend another day out before heading back to SIN tomorrow.

We headed down Jordan area to get our laundry done so we can have clean clothes back to SIN. We then travelled to Tai Koo area where we think there will be lesser crowd compared to the crowd in the central of HK. We had our dim sum brunch at the local restaurant and the food was great.

After our brunch, we enjoyed some good shopping time at Tai Koo shopping mall where they had lots to shop though situation in the heartland. The mall is huge compared to those in Singapore heartland where they housed many brands and even an ice-skating ring for public to skate or to learn. It was really amazing how they entertained the shoppers.

There were many eateries and a supermarket within the shopping mall and we had a great time exploring the place. It was like shopping in Vivo City. J Of course, when we shopped, your wallet will bleed naturally… L

We went back to the hotel after shopping for hours and it’s time for our legs & kids to rest. Went back to the hotel to finish up some packing and we left for dinner thereafter.

It’s already a YES when it comes to steamboat and we went back to our favourite restaurant for dinner one last time before travelling back to SIN tomorrow. The kiddos enjoyed the steamboat dinner as much as we do. It was such a fulfilling dinner and how it ended our last dinner in HK. Well, I am sure we will be back again in the near future but for now…. I will be missing it.
On the way back to the hotel, I insisted to buy my favourite steamed milk pudding as this is considered a MUST-HAVE for me whenever I am in Hong Kong. The ones in Singapore cannot meet up to the taste of those in HK though at times it does works to satisfy my crave… J Hubby also bought the all time favourite egg tarts and zhu cheong fun as they were simple buy SUPER YUMMY! It was a perfect combination for supper…

Ocean Park

When you are in Hong Kong, Ocean Park will be another place to visit. Today is kind of special coz we will be exploring the park with my office buddies who are in Hong Kong at the same time. Yes, we planned before we flew off to HK and we finally meet up for a good time at Ocean Park.
However, it started to rain heavily when we arrived at Ocean Park but we were still able to enter the park with our raincoats and umbrellas. The park was filled with people and we found out that many rides were closed. We checked with the staff and found out that the rides will remained closed till further notice due to the typhoon. DAMN…. It was disappointing but we continue to wait.
We walked around the park and found a place where the kids can at least have some fun. Well, it’s all about spending money to win some prizes. We stayed to play the ticum ticum for a while and then went to have our lunch at the Panda CafĂ©.

After lunch, we went to check out if the rides are open but to our disappointment, it remained closed. Hubby brought little Emma back to hotel as she was tired and fell asleep while we decided to go shopping instead since rides are not available for the day.

We headed down to causeway bay for some shopping and we even went for an afternoon tea break. Though it was mentioned that there will be a big typhoon tonight we remained calm and continue to enjoy our tea break.
Since there was a warning that the typhoon no. 8 will be visiting HK tonight and tried to avoid getting ourselves in that situation, we hurried back to hotel. True enough, the rain got heavier and it did not stop there… the wind was so strong that we could hear howling sound in our room which was quite frightening. This is something we had never experienced in Singapore and we were glad that we are safe in our hotel room.

Man… I am thankful that we will not experience such weather back home!

Disneyland, Here We Come

The kiddos were excited about the plan for today as we are heading to Disneyland. Emma is really excited for she is a fan of Minnie Mouse and she kept asking if we can see other Disney Characters like Sofia, Donald & Daisy Duck etc…
When we arrived after our breakfast, it’s not surprise that there were big crowds at the entrance and yes… mainly CHINESE. Lady Faith was quick to obtain the Disneyland map and we quickly planned our way to the rides. We were lucky to get on the Winnie the Pooh ride thrice as the queue weren’t too long and it was really a comfortable ride to take. J
The kiddos wanted to take on the Elephant ride and we went for it and some photo-taking with the characters thereafter. The weather was scorching HOT and I could barely walk as my energy level slowed down under such weather. We headed down to the indoor rides for some cool air and it was comfortable for us.

Wanted to dine at the restaurant for our lunch but all the cafes/restaurants were very crowded and some had to queue… so we continued our journey in Disneyland and ended up taking pix with one of our favourite Star Wars character – Chewbacca. I was thrilled and pretty proud of the kiddos as there weren’t afraid of him at all.

We had a great time in Disneyland but it was way too hot to stay on so, we headed back to the city for our late lunch. We took a rest in our hotel room after a super-hot day out!

I did some research before we departed SIN for HK and found out that Jamie Oliver had opened a restaurant in HK too. We went to Causeway Bay for our dinner at Jamie Oliver and we were really happy to get a table even without any reservations for the lady at the counter told us that usually the restaurant is fully booked.

The menu is somehow different from the one we had back home and I would say that the price is more reasonable and portion is slightly bigger compared to the one in SIN. It was really delicious and I gave it a 5« for its quality, taste and quantity. THUMPS UP!

We returned to our hotel for an early rest after a long day. While the kids are in bed, I was having a personal moment with my steam milk pudding! YUMS!!
We are looking forward to meeting Linda & Sumiyo at Ocean Park tomorrow for another fun outing!

Hello Hong Kong

It’s been long time since we last visited Hong Kong and we are finally back again. This time, with an additional family member added to our trip… yes… Little Emma.

The girls are excited and this would be Emma’s virgin trip to Hong Kong while Lady Faith a few times I supposed. J We took the morning flight so that we can spend more time in Hong Kong and with the fantastic cooperation from the girls; we managed to be at airport early to do some shopping and enjoyed our breakfast before boarding.

This would be the first time Emma has her own seat onboard and I was really happy that she was able to doze off right after the take-off and leaving me to enjoy a few cups of my favourite Bailey's...

I was pretty much impressed by our very own Changi Airport which not only known for their cleanliness but the good facilities they have. We were able to enjoy our breakfast while the girls enjoyed themselves at the nearby playground where it was a breeze to sip on our coffee and watched our girls at the same time. Simply thoughtful!
We arrived on scheduled and the weather was pretty cool. We headed down for a little shopping before proceeding for our steamboat dinner at one of our favourite restaurant. It was certainly changed a lot but the quality of the food remained FANTASTIC! THUMPS UP!
After dinner, we went for a light stroll along the streets of HK and managed to buy some desserts and snacks to enjoy at the comfort of our own hotel room.

The girls turned in early as they can’t wait for the trip to Disneyland tomorrow. :0) See you tomorrow peeps!

Ballet Boot Camp

It was day 2 of the ballet boot camp for our Lady Faith and I managed to send her to Trudance since I am on leave. When we arrived at venue, some of her friends were already there preparing for a day of fun. J

They started off the day with games and then with a dance to keep everyone warmed up for the day. I could see that she was really enjoying herself with Athena. Before we left for breakfast, we checked out the other classes and I would love to join the camp if there is a session for adults coz’ they were really fun… saw the older girls doing some jazz dance, hip-hop and another class doing salsa. Looked so fun!!!!

I went back to pick her up in the evening and took a peek into their class and I love what I saw… they were dancing salsa and noticed that Lady Faith was really happy doing the dance. When class was dismissed, Lady Faith came out with a bright smile and showed us the key chain they made during lesson.
Thank you Trudance for organizing this wonderful camp for the girls!

Faith’s Ballet Camp

It’s finally school holiday for our Lady Faith and she is definitely looking forward to the events that will be happening in June.

Well, the first up event will be her Ballet Camp where she will be able to hang out with her BFFs from ballet class at the Trudance premises where the girls get together for a 2 full days of fun!
For the 1st day of the Ballet Camp, they had dance lessons in the morning and then followed by a movie after lunch. I was really thankful that Regena (Athena’s Mum) was able to fetch and send Faith home after the event is done. J

When I returned home from work, she told me how much she had enjoyed herself with her friends and can’t wait for the next session tomorrow. I was really happy that she had a ball of a time with her friends and learnt some dance moves too. J

I shall check it out tomorrow. J

Thank You Joe!

Joe came to our office as a replacement for our office boy who went on 3 months medical leave due to surgery. I remembered his first day of work and was very much GREEN as there was no prior handover.

I once approached him to check on the postage and he wasn’t sure at all but was willing to check for me. I remembered him being very cool about it though he was clueless but his attitude towards the job was really fantastic. He check the mail system and came back with an answer the next day. Thumps UP!

Today, being his last day of work in our office, most of us who has the privilege to work with him were sad to see him leave. He is such a great guy who is always willing to help and given the sense of responsibility, he did his job well!

Well Done JOE!
Wishing you all the very best in your studies and your career path in the near future. J

Photoshoot For Office Organization Chart

New GM new style… he wanted to revamp our office organization chart as it does not look neat and nice to him. With that, our HR department scheduled all staff to have their photo taken.

This morning, we were the first few to have our photos taken by Linda just using her own Samsung phone with beauty app for our photoshoot. As this has to be in a standard format, we were asked to stand at the wall to have our face portrait taken. J

We certainly had lots of fun doing that for we were the first few in the office and we were able to take as many pictures as we like till we are satisfied with it… hahaahahahah…
Don’t we all looked GOOD! J
