Congratulations To Ivan & Clara

When I first received the wedding invitation from my cousin Joseph, I couldn’t believe that his son Ivan will be tying the knot as my memory of him remains at his kiddy age of 5.

I was certainly happy that he will be getting married and in fact, I simply love attending weddings. The couple had no other choice to host their wedding dinner on a Monday evening due to the busy F1 weekend.

When we arrived at CHIJMES an hour before the official wedding party, it was really nice to see the young couple offering tea to the elders during the Chinese Tradition Tea Ceremony though both of them lived in the western country.
Our kiddos were excited about the wedding as well as the bride. Lady Faith told me that she simply love Clara’s gown which was simple yet lovely and she told me that she is wearing almost similar to the bride. J It is my first time meeting with Clara and she is a very sweet indeed but an adventurous girl (found out her adventures on Ivan’s FB).

The party started with Benedict (Ivan’s Bro), our MC for the night. After the introduction, we welcomed the newlyweds and I was moved to tears by Ben’s speech about his bro, it was so sweet.

Dinner by CHIMES was pretty nice though they were not the best. Everyone was enjoying themselves mostly with juices and a handful with wine. I thoroughly enjoyed the couple’s speech after the second walk in on how they met, fell in love and now got married. It definitely brought back memories of my own wedding too.

We were unable to stay as the kiddos has school the next day but we managed to have a group picture taken with the bride & groom that was not to be missed.
Wishing Ivan & Clara a blessed marriage and May you guys continue to love each other like you fell for the first time. Cheers!

Little Emma’s First School Outing

When we received the consent form from school in regards to the outing with family, we were excited about it as this would be a chance for us to have our own family quality time and as well as getting to know her school friends.

I would say that the most excited person who came to know about this outing would be our Lady Faith who began imaging herself reuniting with her friends who has siblings in her sister’s school. She knows a few of our ex-classmates whose siblings are still in the same school and she confidently believed that she will be meeting her friends on the day of event.

True enough, she was so happy to see her friends Haruki & Liz whom she missed so much since they parted ways for Primary One. It was really heartwarming to see how happy the 3 girls were and how much they treasured each other.
We set off with the Hippo Bus Ride and it was truly a great experience as a first timer. The ride was a fantastic and informative one hour ride round the places of interests in Singapore. The bus brought us through Arab Street, Rocher Road, Little India and Chinatown which was pretty much the history of Singapore. Though the kids were too young to know the places of interest, they were equally happy enjoying the bus ride with their friends.

We got onboard to the Duck Tour after our bus ride and our little Emma was pretty much worried as we told her that we will be going down to the Singapore River. She was worried about getting wet and having some sea creatures dashing out of the river… hahaahahahahah after calming her down, she was doing well and enjoyed the half an hour boat ride. It was her first time seeing the Merlion and she was telling us that it was very scary coz’ it was the witch mermaid that turned the lion into a Merlion!!! Hahahaahahahahaha

We thoroughly enjoyed the outing organized by the school and YES, we are looking forward to the next outing.

Casual Dining With Matsuda-San

Matsuda-san used to be one of my favourite bosses in our office during his assignment in Singapore. He was from the HRD and he had tried to make things different in the office but somehow it failed in a way or another. It wasn’t because he was not capable to change but it was the management that refused to accept his ideas and changes. Sighz… very sad isn’t it!

Anyway, after he returned to Tokyo, he decided to retire and start up his own consultant company and I trust that he is doing very well. He has been visiting Asia pretty often and this time, he got in touch with us and we met up for a quick luncheon.
He did not change a bit from the last time we met him. He was looking great and very much happier person now compared to his terms in Singapore. I totally enjoyed the luncheon with him and we had shared so much information.

We are happy to know that he is doing well with his current work and has been travelling to Indonesia and Singapore pretty often. We do hope that we will meet up once again when he is in town in the near future.
