Baking Play Date

During the year-end holidays, I have been arranging play dates for Lady Faith as this would be the best time for her to catch up some lost time with her friends.

Today, we are having baking play date with Athena, her friend from child care centre at the tender age of 21 months. Though they were not the closest friend then but they became pretty good and close friend through the same ballet class they are taking.

When we arrived at Spur Box, we were the 1st one there and while I was waiting for Athena to arrive, I was checking out other baking sessions that I might be able to arrange with other kids with Lady Faith. They certainly have lots of choices to choose from and they have classes daily.
The kids were led to a baking room and the instructor began the class introducing the ingredients they had on the table in front of them and taught them to how to mix them. Regena & I left for breakfast at Mac after seeing them settled down with the baking.

I had a great time chatting with Regena as we don’t get much time to chat or get to know each other more during those times we met when we sent our kids to ballet. I really enjoyed the time spent the Mac where so many good memories were created there during my school days.

We went back to Spur Box after breakfast and found them having an art & craft session while waiting for their cakes to be ready for frosting. It was pretty fun watching them how they assemble and decorating the cake. We could see those excitement on their faces.

Lady Faith was very serious about decorating her cake and I was really glad that she was pipping her cream on the right area and amount which made her cake looked beautiful at the end results. They enjoyed so much on the baking and of course the companionship. As for me, I found my little Pastry Chef in the making!
Let’s do it again soon!

Buddies’ Day Out

I am really glad that my best buddy’s daughter not only gets along very well with my kiddos but they simply love one another! The kids requested us to plan a playdate and we did without any hesitation and here we are today out on a playdate!

We went to Jamie’s at VivoCity for our luncheon not only their good and tasty food but also the kids were given some fun activity paper to entertain while we can eat peacefully. 😊 The kids enjoyed their food but in fact, they were more excited about each other. They were no strangers and started playing like sisters.
After lunch, we shopped around and the kids were great shoppers too. They were looking at everything each shop has to offer and even accessories that weren’t for their age! Hahahaahahah… They were filled with so much energy that totally overpowered the two of us and we decided to take a break with coffee and desserts for them. It was indeed a good half and hour of rest at the café for us while the girls were still playing on their own!

As the evening drew near, we had to say our goodbyes and you could see the disappointment and sadness on their faces which was really heartbreaking. We promised them that they will meet again soon and perhaps more often since it’s school holidays. See you soon guys!

Happy Birthday Jeliss

It was almost a dream come true to have a birthday party at MacDonald’s back in our days. I have never had a party at MacDonald’s and if anyone celebrates their birthday there, they must be very rich!

We were happy to be invited by Jeliss’s mum to join the fun at MacDonald’s Birthday Party today. Everyone loves party and Lady Faith was extremely excited coz’ it’s gonna be held at MacDonald’s! She has never had a party there and have no idea what it will be like but she definitely looks forward to the Happy Meal.

We dropped her off at the MacDonald’s as the party area wasn’t too big and we preferred to leave her there to have fun with her friends with no restrictions. Hubby and I went for a short coffee break nearby which gave us the time to discuss on our up and coming holiday itinerary.

The party lasted about one and the half hour and we were back to the party venue to check her out. Was happy to catch up with some mummies and had a short chat before returning home. Asked Lady Faith about the party and she told us it was so fun but the aunty who conducted the games was quite fierce… hahahaahahah

Thank you Jeliss for having us and wishing you a blessed birthday!

Super Park Singapore

I remembered reading about this Super Park online and at that time, they scheduled to be opened later this year. I was really interested when I read about it and finally, they opened its door last Saturday.

We decided to bring the kids to try out the park though we felt that it was kind of costly for both kids & adults. It was a flat rate of $40 and you got to purchase their inhouse socks at $3 per pair as they mentioned that they are using the special grip socks made for their park. Anyway, we can’t refuse to buy as we needed to get into the park.

The place was huge and I like their locker system where you open your locker with your wrist tag and it will prompt you to whichever locker is available. Pretty cool! We did not waste any time and the kids were super excited and ran to their first ride. We queued for a couple of minutes for the Pedal Car Track and it was pretty fun, reminded me of the road safety park concept but without traffic lights and pedestrians.

We continued to explore the ground level and that’s where all the fun is! The kids queued up for the Tube Slide but they have to bring the tube slide up by themselves. It was really fun and the kids had many rounds of that before we highlighted to them that there were more rides and stuff to play. They diverted their attention to the Flying Fox almost immediately and went a few rounds too as there weren’t too many kids queueing up.
While the kids were playing the Flying Fox and the Tube Slide, the adults went to take a shot at the Superhoop where you try to aim the basket with the ball (it’s basketball). Then we went to another play area where the kids had a great time at the trampolines. It was free style jumping and they jumped like no tomorrow.

There were so many other play areas and the hours passed so fast! The kids’ energy was amazing as they did not feel tired but the adults were kind of drained. Maggie & I decided to take a break and have coffee at the café outside the park while Rie stayed to watch over the kids.

When we returned from coffee, we were surprised to see the kids still in high spirits and energy. They were still playing and running around the park on different play areas and rides. Finally, we had to leave as our time is up for the section we paid for.

It was a truly fantastic 4 hours of play for the kids and if our kids were older and need to supervision, I am very sure that the adults will be playing more at some of the game section. This is a great place for parents and kids to bond or to play together. Super good concept and indeed a Super Park!

Movie & Shopping Date With Lady Faith

I remembered back in those younger days of Lady Faith, I used to bring her out on my own during the weekends for a quick shopping or meeting up a friend for tea. I don’t remember doing that after the birth of Emma as I needed more time to look after the younger one and somehow, I felt that I have neglected those precious time with Faith.

As the school holidays has started, I wanted to make her holidays a great one by spending more time with her outdoors than keeping at home with the TV glued to her eyes daily! We decided to catch a movie in the morning and she was excited to watch Disney’s The Nutcracker And The Four Realms.
We went to take a quick bite before the movie and gotten our popcorns and drinks ready for the show. The movie was enjoyable and both of us loved it. To me, it wasn’t about the movie but the time spent with Lady Faith and I was really glad that we did it.

We shopped for Emma’s birthday goody stuff and took a break at my one of my favourite coffee joint – Starbucks. Lady Faith had her chocolate dessert while I sipped on my hot latte. Given the opportunity of being a stay home mum, I wished I can have more time to spend with these two girls outside the house rather than pushing them up the wall with the books.

Thank You Lord for the wonderful time spent with Lady Faith which is totally priceless!

Happy Anniversary!

Time rockets and I have married to this man for 18 years. The day when I entered the Church of St. Teresa and said my vows to you seems like yesterday. Today, we are celebrating our 18th Wedding Anniversary and we are truly blessed with two beautiful girls.

I am happy that you date me out for our anniversary dinner at Basilico located at The Regent Singapore in advance. You remembered me telling you many times about this place and we are finally here to dine together on our special celebration. The food was really good though I had to stop taking food from the appetitizer counter and dig into our main course but I am grateful that you stopped me. hahahahaha… Please bring me back here again soon to complete my desserts... hahahaah
Thank you for being there for me all these years and you have been a great father to our girls. Looking forward to celebrating many more years of anniversaries together.

I love you.

School Holidays Playdate

It’s finally school holidays and it can be a nightmare if you keep the kids home throughout the school holidays!! Alicia’s mum & I managed to fix a playdate for them to meet up and have fun together.

We met for quick lunch so that the girls will be able to have more time to play at their place at Heron Bay. The moment we arrived at their place, the girls did not waste any time and they changed into their swimming costume in a flash! They quickly jumped into the jacuzzi pool within their home area and began their fun!
While the girls were having fun, I had the opportunity to chat with Marvina and it was quite a good chat about school days as we were from the same school though different year. We talked about so much memories the school had left us and mostly fantastic ones.

The girls then started their soap making with Marvina and they were totally in the world of their own designing the soap and adding scent to each soap molds. The end results were really good, they came out pretty and smelling great!

Good times spent with good friends always passed like rocket! We had to head home as I had an important dinner to attend later tonight. The girls were really sad to end the day and they started to plan the next playdate again soon. Aww… really sweet to see them enjoying each other’s company.

Thank you Marvina for having us today and we had a fabulous time!

The Great Moscow Circus

I am a huge fan of circus and I was really excited when the news of Moscow Circus was coming to Singapore. I was really happy and finally managed to have a date with them.

We went to the circus with the family and mum was not too keen initially but went along too as I told her that The Moscow Circus will not be coming again for the next decade. When we arrived at the huge tent where the circus was held, it was not as crowded as I had expected. We managed to have a group picture taken with some of the performers and the kids were really excited.
Our seats were pretty good and had a good view of the stage. The show started off with a big bang where the performers were doing their stunts with trampolines and balancing themselves on the blocks. It was amazing and at time brought us holding our seats.

As the show continued, it was getting better. Our favourite would be the stunts performed on the huge wheels and the bikes in the metal ball. It was simply heart pounding moments and I was really worried for the performers who did those stunts.
My family thoroughly enjoyed the whole performance and we do hope they will return to Singapore again in the near future.

Western Dinner

I am not a fantastic cook but I love to cook food that made my family members happy. That alone satisfies my soul.

Apart from grilled salmon, I tried to cook ravioli with truffle cream sauce and baked salmon. For the truffle cream sauce, I followed the recipe which I found online and turned out to be pretty good. It wasn’t too complicated but you got to watch your fire otherwise your cream will be overdone.
As for the salmon, I thought it tasted the same as grilled when I had the salmon baked today instead. I noticed that the only difference was the softness of the fish when you baked them. It was more tender while grilled, it wasn’t as tender. 😊

Super Yums!!

Lemon Cream Cheese Cupcakes

After a marathon baking session on Friday, I was basically drained. After frosting the brownies last evening, Lady Faith noticed that there was some cream cheese frosting left over and she requested for lemon cupcakes with the frosting.

After mass, I was still considering about baking again later as I was pretty much tired. But when I saw the frosting in the fridge, I decided to bring out my mixer and started baking the lemon cupcakes requested by Lady Faith.

As I was fine tuning the taste, she kept coming into the kitchen to ask if the cupcakes were ready for baking and she told me that she could smell the lemon from a short distance. I used a different method this time but was really happy that it came up so well.

Lady Faith tasted the cupcakes and she gave thumps up while little pumpkin thought it was too sour to her liking. I tried and thought it was pretty yummy and refreshing with the lemon flavor that stood out. Woohoo!!! Another cake in the menu!

Family Gathering

It’s always nice to remember someone’s birthday and it’s even better to celebrate it with them! Today, we invited my family members to our place to celebrate our Gujie’s 87th birthday. We usually try to celebrate her birthday yearly at the restaurant or at our uncle’s place but this year, we are happy to have them over at our place.

Since we are not planning to cook up a feast, steamboat dinner will be best for all and YES, we LOVE steamboat! I always believe that it’s the best buffet ever! Hahahaahah… Hubby and I went to Chinatown to get some vegetables and yong tau foo while my cousins brought over some prawns and fish paste etc…
I was really glad that I managed to bake her a birthday cake though it took me a very long time frosting the cake! I made the brownies and brownies with lemon cream cheese as our desserts at the request of Lady Faith.
When my cousins arrived and while we are still preparing for dinner, I could see half of my ‘supposed to be desserts’ were already gone. I was really happy with their feedback and they love it as much as my kids.

Over dinner, we chatted and it really seemed like Chinese New Year Eve where we sat round the table at Gujie’s place yearly but today’s was a different occasion. 😊

After dinner, we had the birthday cake cutting ceremony and the kids were excited to dig in to the cake again. Gujie was happy that she was surrounded by her grand nieces and singing her the birthday song was simply warming.
Hereby wishing Gujie a Happy Blessed Birthday and may our good Lord continue to watch and protect you always.

My Brownie With Lemon Cream Cheese

I was planning desserts for the party tomorrow and came up with these combination of brownie with lemon cream cheese.

Initially, I was worried that the flavours will not go together but surprising, they are a match made from heaven… hahahaha… simply delicious! I was really happy with the taste and I really hope that my family will love it as much as I do… YUMS!

Ravioli With Truffle Cream Sauce

It’s been a while since I last cooked Italian meals for dinner and today, I have decided to make some.

Brought some frozen Ravioli (though I would very much like to make my own pasta) but I have no equipment… guess I will get one soon coz’ I would really want to try making my own pastas. Will update you guys when I do yea…
Given the time, I was able to cook up this delicious dish for the family and it was pretty much simple. The ingredients were simple and recipe easy to follow. Mmmh… I am sure I will be cooking this again pretty soon coz’ it’s SUPER YUMZ!
