Lady Faith’s First Reconciliation

I clearly remembered the day when Lady Faith was baptized at the Church of Divine Mercy at the tender age of 8 months old. She screamed so loud in church when the priest baptized her in the baptism pool and at that time, I was really nervous.

As she grows, she learnt about the Catholic Faith and now currently taking catechism classes weekly in church. We were really happy with her progress as she is able to recite all the prayers we have taught her and she is truly a blessed gift from above.

Now she has grown into a young lady and is ready for her first reconciliation. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the most unique and beautiful aspects of Catholicism. Jesus Christ, in His abundant love and mercy, established the Sacrament of Confession, so that we as sinners can obtain forgiveness for our sins and reconcile with God and the Church. The sacrament “washes us clean,” and renews us in Christ.

We are very proud of her and happy that she went through this sacrament. We will be looking forward to her for her next sacrament next year.
After her reconciliation, the kids were having potluck party at the church canteen and Lady Faith told me sadly that she didn’t get to eat my brownies or muffins as they were all gone when she went down to the canteen. I was happy to hear that and replied to her that I have left some for her at home. 😊

Thank you God for the wonderful opportunity for Lady Faith to bless with this beautiful sacrament. May you continue to watch over her and protect her always.

MJ & Birthday Celebration

We have always wanted to plan a day to play MJ at my place and finally, we have the excuse to do so this time. My best buddies from took a ½ day off from work and rushed to my place for this special gathering. This would be one of those days that they can really distress.

Being a host, I whipped up some of my signature dishes for them for lunch. I made the baked salmon, brussels sprouts with bacon, sautéed mushrooms and onions, baked chicken mid-joints and the garlic beef. I was really happy that I was able to have them ready before they arrived. Yes, I do cook besides baking... hahahahaah
As usual, mummy Florence was the first to arrive and I was still soaked in the oil from cooking. While she was chilling and chatting with my mum, I hurried to shower and was just in time to welcome the rest.

It was like a feast indeed and the food did not stop there, Linda bought some chicken wings and snacks over and we ended up eating like we had dinner! Hahahahaah…. After the quick luncheon, we started playing MJ while the rest chilled with the kids.
While they were taking a break from MJ, we gave mummy Florence a surprise. She did not know that it was a celebration for her birthday too. I was happy that I managed to bake her the cake and yes… it was yummy! 😊
They continued playing while I helped my mum to prepare dinner as we have also invited them to stay for dinner. Mum whipped some of her signature dishes too but we were too hungry to take photos of them… hahahahaah…

As it was still early after dinner, we decided to continue with the game but managed to finish before midnight. It was indeed a great gathering with friends whom I regarded as part of my family.

Thank you pals for coming and Happy Blessed Birthday Mummy Florence in advance.

My Perfect Scrambled Eggs

I am a great fan of eggs… yes.. practically any types of eggs! All of the eggs, my favourite would be the scrambled eggs and I attempted making my first scrambled eggs when I was still in school but it was either too runny or it’s over-cooked.

As years goes by, I tried cooking them again and they were never near perfect for me. I started watching cookery shows on TV and reading up about them when I got married and then started our own family. I began to speed up the motion when Lady Faith requested for scrambled eggs for breakfast when we were on holiday in Perth. It wasn’t the best scrambled eggs though she told me it was nice. Hahahahaha..

After I quitted my job, I had more time to explore and I found a great recipe from Gordon Ramsey and that’s when I took time to try it out and now managed to master it to make my Perfect Scrambled Eggs. Lady Faith was really thrilled with the taste and texture and given thumps up and a perfect score for the first time!
I am so happy that I am able to master my own favrouite dish and gotten the big PASS from family is totally worth it.

Wedding Luncheon @ Singapore Marriott Hotel

We all love weddings and as we grow, we get lesser wedding parties to attend unless you have a huge family where you have many cousins who are younger than yourself. Today, we are attending one of hubby’s cousin’s wedding luncheon and the kids are all excited.

When we arrived at Marriott Hotel, it definitely reminded us where we had our wedding dinner held in the same ballroom 18 years ago. Those fond memories were so beautiful and it can never be erased. The hotel definitely did some refurbishment to the ballroom but the cocktail area seemed so familiar to us.

The luncheon started with a bang where we welcomed the newly weds as they entered the ballroom with ‘live’ music and the MC was so talented. She not only bilingual, she can sing many different types of songs during the whole party.

The food was pretty good and we were glad that Marriott kept their good standards. The kids enjoyed themselves with the photo-booth at the cocktail area throughout the party and they simply had so much fun with their cousins.

As for the adults, it was definitely a catch-up time with cousins and relatives whom we usually get to meet once a year which is during CNY. This year, we got to meet twice thanks to this beautiful wedding party.

Congratulations to Jia Ming & Pageen. Wishing you guys a blissful marriage.

Chocolate Berries Cupcakes

I was in awe when I received the orders from my ex-colleague Sheny after she tasted my cupcakes which was brought to them to celebrate ‘Children’s Day’.

Though I am not a professional pastry chef but getting good feedback is great for my learning journey and affirming me that I can bake and continue to improve my skills. I am grateful to Sheny that by ordering my cupcakes, she not only gave me the confident but given me the boost to do even better.
Well, the cupcakes may not the as good as those in the shops but I am glad that it has some good standards to them. Thank you Sheny!

Children’s Day Celebration @ School

It’s Children’s Day and the school requested parents to prepare some food as potluck for theparty and I was pretty much lucky to be given the task to bake muffins. Woohoo!!! This is a super easy task for me as I love to bake especially for kids!

I was busy yesterday baking the muffins for my little pumpkin’s party at school and I wanna make sure that the muffins will be alluring to them…

This morning, I woke up early to have them decorated and ready to send them to school. Before stepping out of the house, I showed the muffins to my little pumpkin and gotten the thumps up as an approval for the party. She told me that they are so pretty and she is very sure that her friends will love them as much she as does. Awwwww…..
All the kids were dressed in their own party dress and little pumpkin requested to wear a dress which she did not get to wear often. She was really happy and ready to pose for picture when the teacher walked near with the camera.

When I picked her up from school, she told me that the muffins were so yummy that all her friends finished them in a flash and left nothing for the teachers. I was really happy to hear that and told her that I have kept some for her at home and she can have them later… She smiled and told me “mummy, you’re the best COOKER in the world”… hahahaahahahah… COOKER!!!

Spreading Some Happiness On Children’s Day

Today is Children’s Day holiday and Lady Faith is given a day off. I brought her out to meet up with her God-ma for luncheon near their office. I too made some cupcakes to cheer them up since I am aware of how stressful they were lately.

Met up Linda and Jessica for lunch at Kith which is one of our favourite joint and I was really happy that Lady Faith enjoyed her food very much. After luncheon, we visited the office since it was pretty much early. Managed to meet up the rest of my favourite people in the office and had a good chat with them too.
I do hope my cupcakes will brighten up their day since the weekend is near.
