Family Trip To Malacca

This would be my first time taking coach from SIN to Malacca. Though it’s not the normal excitement but I am still happy that we are travelling as a family. Earlier this year, we planned to visit Taiwan but after receiving the good news of Maggie’s 2nd pregnancy, we decided to take a shorter holiday.

We arrived at Golden Mile Complex this early morning for check in and after loading our entire luggage, we set off for Malacca. I would say that the coach was spacious and comfortable for this long ride. Faith was enjoying her ride sitting on me and excited about the trip as her cousins were there to play along…
It took us about a total of 6 hours to reach Malacca finally as there were couple of stop over during the ride. After checking in to Hatten Hotel, the newest hotel in Malacca, we preferred to take rest as it was quite a long ride from Singapore.

The hotel is so new that there were still some renovations seen at the hotel lobby. I would say that the room is simply great especially they have a separate area for bedroom and small living room, smartly equipped with two TVs. Excellent!

Since Malacca is famous for their Peranakan cuisines, we decided to have nonya food for dinner. We went to the restaurant that was introduced by my dear buddy Bird, who brought us there last year during our road trip.

When we arrived at Bayonya which is walking distance from where we stayed. It was almost empty but after placing our orders, the crowd came rushing in. It was the exact scenario when we came here for lunch last year…

We ordered the usual food like fish head curry, fried chicken, chap chai, fried egg and their kang kong balachan. Their food was good but the service was really slow… they actually serve all the food at once for each table… which means, they do not prepare big portion for the same dishes and serve tables that had the same orders… After dinner, we ordered their gendol as our desserts, the elderly loved it but not the kiddos as the coconut milk were too strong for them.

We decided to call it an early night as we were all tired out after a long ride…

12th Years Wedding Anniversary

How time flies… it’s already 12 years! It seemed like only yesterday when I walked down the aisle of St. Teresa’s Church. I can still remember that moment when I was walking down the aisle alone, feeling nervous and worried that I might fall over…

Thinking back, I really want to thank my bunch of best buds who helped out on my wedding day as they have made it my wedding a dream came true.

12 years later, we are celebrating our wedding anniversary with a difference. We have an additional member in our family to celebrate this wonderful occasion with us.

We went to Fat Cat for dinner since we already dined at La Pizzaiola couple of days ago. We invited my mum to join us and she was delighted that the thai fried rice we ordered for her was delicious.
This time, I ordered the Baked Salmon, Tabi the child portion of Aglio and hubby the Bake Chicken. It was really crowded on a Saturday evening and there was a birthday celebration for a child too.
B, thank you for being there for me at anytime, anywhere… you are my soul-mate and will always be. Love you till death do us part.

Korean BBQ Buffet

Our ‘food director’ Linda chanced upon this fantastic deal online and decided to purchase 6 dinning coupons for us to dine at this Korean BBQ located at Resorts World.

Hyangtogol Korean BBQ Buffet is the restaurant we need to get to from Vivocity. We were shocked to know that it was pouring outside and we were not able to get to the Broadwalk. We took the alternative route by taking a ride on the train from Vivocity to Resorts World. I am totally excited about it as it was my virgin ride.
When we arrived in Sentosa, we need to walk quite a distance since it was pouring… the rain was so heavy that we got wet even though we tried to run under the shelter. By the time we reached the restaurant, the rain actually slackened…

We were given a seat in a semi-private room and infact, we had the room all by ourselves till another family came to take the other table. There were load of food though the buffet spread wasn’t as much as compared to the hotel style.

Overall the food was pretty good and with the price that we paid ($28), it was totally worth it! Thank you Leng for the arrangements and it was indeed a great gathering…

Wedding Anniversary Dinner

We will be celebrating our 12th Years Wedding Anniversary this weekend and since our special day falls on a Sat, we planned to celebrate with the family. Tonight, it will just be the 2 of us as a pre-celebration…

Yes, we are back to La Pizzaiola again and as both of us simply love the food there. I was extremely happy to know that they are serving squid ink risotto tonight and without any hesitation, we placed an order for their daily special.
Though it was a simple dinner at a place where we dine often, it can be enjoyable too coz’ spending time with someone you love makes a simple date unforgettable...
Thank you B for creating a quiet time for just the TWO of us… Love you.

Aunty Susan’s Birthday Celebration

My cousin BG kindly arranged the birthday dinner celebration for our beloved Gu Jie at Wah Lok on a cooling Sunday evening.

It has been a long time since my last visit to this restaurant and I would say this would be my first time here for dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant, I was really impressed by the new look. It is nicely renovated and I kind of like the new design which gave us a very cozy and comfortable feeling.

My cousin ordered some dishes and some were recommended by the waitress as we were not too familiar of their signature dishes. Anyway, we believed that the food will be good as this has been named one of the good Chinese restaurants in Singapore.

Little Faith and Little Zoe hit off pretty well though they do not get to meet each other often. Zoe is extremely cute as she acted like a big sister who takes care of Faith. They seemed to love one another very much and hang out during dinner. They wanted their own cozy area which is having a seat on the carpeted floor behind some of us.

We even surprised Gu-jie with a birthday cake as she wasn’t prepared for it. She was happy to see the cake and so were the kiddos. We sang the birthday song softly as it was very quiet in the restaurant.

Happy Birthday Gu-Jie and wishing you good health always.
