Ending The Year With A Splash

2020 has finally come to an end and we hope that 2021 will be a better year for everyone. It was a great sunny morning and we set off to Maggie’s place for a dip. The kids are so excited to meet their cousins and ready for a swim.

When we arrived at their condo, Maggie and the girls were waiting for us at the poolside. She prepared some finger food and snacks for the kids while we chipped in homemade egg mayo sandwiches and some fruits too. The girls did not waste any time, they changed and quickly took a splash into the pool.

While the girls are having fun in the pool, I was given the luxury to laze around at the sheltered poolside and chat the morning away with Maggie. It was really a great feeling of just having to sit around, sip on a cup of hot coffee, having some snacks and watching the kids from afar. 😊 I realized that I have not done that for a long time! It has always been busy at home with kiddos’ schoolwork, household chores without realizing that I have not had such peaceful time for a while.

The girls spent about 2 hours in the pool and as the weather started to take a turn, we packed up hurriedly and dashed up to Maggie’s apartment. 😊 We ordered luncheon while the girls took their shower and dined together thereafter. I am really happy to see the kids having so much fun at the pool as well as playing with the cousins at their cozy home.

Thank you, Maggie & Amos, for having us today and it was indeed a great bonding session for all of us. 😊

Tiramisu Cupcakes

I am happy to receive orders from my cousin once again and this time, she is ordering Tiramisu cupcakes for her colleague who will be retiring this month. I am very sure that this is one of the best desserts to celebrate a retirement for a co-worker after a hearty meal. 😊

Thank you BG for ordering and I hope you guys will enjoy this yummy Tiramisu Cupcakes. 😊

Baker And Cook Cafe

This year’s Christmas is really quiet as no big parties or large gatherings are allowed due to the Covid-19, but we managed to meet up with close friends, extended families’ members and our family members too. Though the celebrations were cut short due to restrictions, it is good enough to be able to meet during this trying times. 😊

After the gathering with my buddies earlier this month, I brought my family back to this cool café; Baker and Cook located at Upper Serangoon area. It is their first time, and I had the honor to suggest some dishes. 😊 The girls wanted pasta and pizza so, we decided to have the Prawn Aglio which was so yummy, and the Truffle mushrooms Sourdough Pizza was a bomb!

In addition, we ordered the Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict and the Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs, they were super YUMS. Hubby was impressed by the food and so are the rest of my family. 😊 I really thank Vivian (my buddy) for bringing us to this café that whipped up such delicious food and what is best – it is a kid’s friendly environment. 😊

We gave this café a thump up for their service, food and oh yes… their Coffee is GREAT! I am sure we will be back again soon for another feast. 😊

Extended Family Christmas Gathering

It has become a yearly affair that we will meet up for Christmas though we are already meeting as often as we can. However, this year, Covid-19 took charge, and we are unable to meet as much as we wanted. In our land, we are lucky that we do not have many cases in the recent months and our government is allowing certain numbers of visitors or diners at the restaurants during this festive season.

To avoid crowds, I decided to invite them over to our place for a small celebration. It was a simple, but we had a blast. Prepared simple homecooked dishes for them and desserts of course. The kids had fun playing with in their room while the adults sit around the dinning table and catch up with each other.

The exchanging of Christmas gifts is a tradition, and the kids were happy to have their gifts placed under the tree. 😊 They too enjoyed finding the gifts for their God-mas and God-grandma under the Christmas tree. Seeing them getting themselves busy looking for the names on the gifts under the Christmas tree is funny yet priceless. 😊

Let us hope that this Covid situation will better soonest so that we can meet up as often as we want again. 😊 Meanwhile, stay safe and have a blessed Christmas!

Shevaun Turns ELEVEN

During this covid times, it has really upset many celebrations and parties but given the easing of the restrictions, we are able to meet up to 8 people at a time. With these lightened restrictions, we are happy to be invited to join the birthday celebration for Shevaun who will be turns eleven today.

Maggie arranged a small birthday party for her sweetie pie Shevaun at Tott located at Suntec City. This is a cool baking class just for the family members and the kids are so excited to get on with the baking. We were the only guest for the party and the kids did not waste any time and started to get ready to bake. They put on their aprons and stood by at their workstations waiting for the instructor to start.

They followed step by step instructions given by the instructor and was really having a great time baking the red velvet cupcakes. Lady Faith partnered little Emma and did well. They took turns to put the ingredients into the mixing bowl and at times, Emma was seen passing ingredients to her big sister and reminding her to mix it with care…. Hahahaahahaha

After the baking the cupcakes, they gathered at the instructor’s station to watch how the shepherd’s pie to be made. I was happy that they were paying 100% attention while the instructor was talking and explaining the steps. After the base was done by the instructor, the kiddos were asked to assemble the shepherd’s pie. It was fun, and we adults to get to help. 😊

While waiting for the pie to be ready, we had a small cake cutting ceremony for Shevaun and it was very simple yet sweet. The birthday cake was yummy, but the kids are excited to taste their own Red Velvet Cake. 😊 When the cupcakes are cooled, the kids got on to icing their cupcakes. They were given pre-prepared icing and the kiddos dived in to ice their pretty cupcakes. 😊

I am really happy that we are still able to attend small parties during this covid period and the kids really had so much fun after they were kept at home for a long time… hahahahaahah…

Happy Blessed Birthday sweetie Shevaun! May the good Lord protect and watch over you always. May happiness and joy always be around you. Love you dearie!

Christmas Meet Up

It has been a tradition that we will meet up before Christmas over lunch or dinner. In recent years, it has become a norm that only 4 of us will meet up instead and due to the covid restrictions.

We decided to dine somewhere away from town and a central venue which is near our place; Serangoon Gardens is one of the perfect venues I would say. Thanks to Vivian’s recommendation, we decided to dine at Baker and Cook located at Serangoon Gardens. I have been to this café for take-away pastries and coffee, but this is the first time for dining in. 😊

We browsed through the menu and with Vivian’s recommendation, we ordered some of the popular dishes like the prawn aglio, truffle fries and truffle mushrooms pizza, chia seed bowl and the salmon quiche. I am surprised by how tasty the food was and simply fell in love with their chia seed bowl. It is so yummy!!!

Apart from meeting up for a meal, we also had the gift exchange that is a major part of our meet. Haahaahahah… we are always looking like Santa Claus whenever we meet up during Christmas seasons. 😊

Monday 14 December 2020

Banana Cake

I am so happy that my friend Vivian ordered the banana cakes from me to gift to her friends. It is always happy to bake for friends and their friends. 😊

Thank you for your orders Vian. 😊

Missing Travelling

It is the fact that we cannot travel this year or perhaps next year. We are missing being able to pack the luggage, hailing a taxi to the airport, checking in at the immigration and boarding the flight to somewhere else. If not for this Covid-19, we would have flown to Australia for our holiday, and I am fantasizing having that delicious seafood near the beach and getting a beautiful tan while the kids build their sandcastles.

To satisfy the cravings of travelling, we brought the kids out to a Japanese luncheon. We booked ourselves a table at Tsuruhashi Fugetsu located at Suntec City where they served Okonomiyaki; something we are missing from Osaka. The kids were excited when we showed them the menu and we ordered their popular seafood okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and Pork Squid Tama Modanyaki which was quite a hit. We simply enjoyed the food served by this restaurant and brought us back to Osaka.

This is a small-scale cozy restaurant where you can choose to have a normal table or the table with teppan. With the teppan on the table, they will place all the food onto the it where your food is consistently served hot. On the hind side, you will probably smell like a chef or kitchen when you are done eating. 😊

Overall, the food was food, but price is a little high as the portion is quite small. Well, if you are missing Japan like us, you might want to go check it out too. 😊

Friday 11 December 2020

Universal Studio Singapore

School holidays used to be so exciting when travelling is involved but during this Covid time, we are unable to travel so, we had to find other ways to entertain the kids. We planned an outing with their cousins and Godma to the USS. Tickets booked in advance as the park has a daily restriction on visitors.

When we arrived early after luncheon, we were surprised that the park is crowded though less crowds compared to pre-covid. We did not waste any time and headed to queue for the rides. Well, queuing up for the rides is such a pain… especially when you queued up an hour for a certain ride that only thrills you for less than 10 mins! We tried to ride as many rides as we can but unfortunately, the scorching heat and the queuing time did not add to the fun…

Most of the popular rides waiting time is about 2 hours and it is impossible to wait under such hot weather. I guess I will not mind queuing for 2 hours in cooler weather. I remembered queuing up an hour for the Haunted House at Disneyland Tokyo during winter and it does not seem long. Weather makes a difference REALLY! 😊

After taking a couple of rides and watching some of the performance, we decided to call it a day and head for dinner. We are glad that we brought the kids out for some bonding sessions with their cousins and God-ma. 😊 Let’s do it again after this Covid yea… 😊

Luncheon With The Kiddos

School holidays is one of the best holidays for both kids and parents to bond! This year, we are saddened by the Covid-19 situation, and it is very unfortunate that we are unable to travel. This totally ruined the school holidays that we are looking forward to.

Though we are currently under the Phrase 3 where we can dine out, but it became a nightmare when you are restricted to many other activities. No big parties, closure of some indoor playgrounds, limitation of entries to places etc. makes school holidays so hard to pass….

In order not to keep the kids at home too often, we brought them out for lunch as much as we can. Went to one of kiddo’s favourite restaurant – Da Paolo Pizza Bar at Jalan Merah Saga for our luncheon. Noticed the lesser crowd than usual but happy that we were able to get a seat without reservations.

We always enjoyed the food at Da Paolo Pizza Bar and the kids simply love their Truffle Mac & Cheese while my favourite will be their Tagliatelle al Grandchio… mmmmh…. So yummy!!! If you are around that area, you can give it a try. I recommend their set lunch which is a steal. 😊

Special Delivery

Christmas is just around the corner, and it is time to spread some love and joy to people whom I called my buddies. I used to work with these wonderful people but now, we only meet when I am available to do lunch with them at their office area.

Baked some banana cake and chocolate muffins for these beautiful people. Though I may not be seeing them every day, but our friendship will not end but will last till the end of time. 😊

Little Pumpkin Turns SIX

My oh my!!! My super funny and always smiley little pumpkin is SIX today! Time is brutal… they are just zooming so fast that I wish I have the magic to keep it still or slow it down.

Well, I am still unable to accept that my baby girl will be heading for Primary 1 next month and she is BABY NO MORE! Aaarrrrgggghhhhhhh….. I am going to miss those baby powder smell and those little feet so bad! On the bright side, I am happy that I can spend quality time with her after I left my job and watching her grow is totally priceless.

She woke up super happy this morning and smiling from cheek to cheek when we greeted her with kisses. She requested to take shower earlier and get ready to head out for brunch – her wish is our command today and we set off early. Headed down to Toy R Us to allow her to check out what she can buy while waiting for the restaurant to be ready for dining. She did not waste time and started to look around and checking out the prices as a budget was given to her. 😊

After a short sweep at Toy R Us, we went to Jamie’s for her birthday luncheon. We ordered kids’ meal for the special one while we ordered some favourite dishes like lasagne, prawn risotto and the burrata. 😊 it was really yummy and the birthday girls is grateful and happy.

We returned to Toy R Us after our yummy lunch and the girls started their shopping spree. Lady Faith bought a little gift for her beloved sister and little pumpkin chose a rather reasonably cheap gift as her present. We talked her out to get something that cost slightly more but she insisted on the toy that she chose – a toy microwave oven with some food. 😊 she said that she does not need anything that is expensive, just something she really like and will play with it a long time. 😊 Upon hearing that, I am really thankful for a thoughtful daughter that God had blessed us with.

We did a small celebration for her after dinner at home too and she is happy just to have her family around to celebrate with her. 😊

Baby girl, wishing you a blessed Sixth birthday and may the good Lord always watch over you and protect you at all times from the evil one. May you always be blessed with all the joy and happiness with people around you. We love you to the moon and back!

My Little Pumpkin Graduated!

This is one super emotional day as we celebrate little pumpkin’s graduation. Back in 2016, we did not attend Lady Faith’s graduation as we were in Australia on a family vacation, and it was quite a bad arrangement by the school. They informed the parents on the date of their graduation ceremony but changed it about 3 months before the actual date.

Today, we are watching or gracing the ceremony for our little pumpkin at home via Zoom. I kind of felt a little off as the kids were not given a proper graduation due to Covid and it was such a shame really!!! The school did what they can to make the ceremony a little more fun by decorating the classrooms beautifully and allowed the parents to watch LIVE via zoom platform.

Though I was watching it via Zoom, but I was super emotional when I saw my little pumpkin speaking and performing a dance with her classmates. It was fantastic how well the kids danced and able to remember all the dance steps for 3 songs. It was amazing and I gave thumps up for that.

Honestly, I am totally not waiting for this day to come as I cannot bear to see my younger child growing up so soon and she will be moving on to her next chapter of life in a month’s time – Primary school. I am still missing those days that I can cuddle her in my arms, changing her diapers, feeding her milk every other hour and of course the HOMEWORK free days.

I know I must get to used it and accept that they are growing up well though I am still in denial that my elder will be turning ELEVEN next year! I wished it will stop at the age of 3! Arrrraaaggghhhhh…… I just hope that time will be more merciful and slow down a little. At the same time, I am also thankful that I can witness their growth and am able to spend more time with them by quitting my job. Watching them grow is priceless and it is worth quitting. 😊

It has been an entertaining graduation and I really thank the teachers for putting in so many efforts to put up this show and recording the show for us. Thank you so much! Baby girl, we would like to congratulate you for completing your pre-school and now you will move on to junior school. We are very sure you will enjoy your primary school life as you will be meeting or making loads of friends. We wish you all the very best and always remember that we love you so much!

I am really thrilled that my cousins enjoyed my cupcakes. She ordered her favourite chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and trying out my Ondeh Ondeh Cupcakes. I am really grateful to all those who has ordered from me and putting your trust in me. 😊

I will definitely work harder to bring you guys more healthy and yummy cakes in my collections yea…

Thank you Jie for believing in me.

Birthday Party At School

This year’s birthday party at school was very simple and quick due to the Covid restrictions. Parents were not allowed to be in school during the celebration but able to watch from the outside.

I decided to make cupcakes instead of buying a whole cake this year since there is covid restrictions and I guess it will be easier for distributions. When her teacher opened the cupcakes in class, the kids were filled with excitement and they seemed to love it. She cannot wait to choose the cupcakes with those cute little figurines and when she saw the goody bags, they got crazier! Hahaahahahaha…

The teacher gathered the kids around the table with a certain distance for photo-taking and then the birthday song. Little pumpkin was happy, and she too sang along with her friends. It was a fast one and I told the teacher to keep the cupcakes for their teatime as they will be having their luncheon soon.

Well, the most exciting part of the party would be the distribution of the goody bags! Teacher Illi got the kids to sit down quietly while little pumpkin called out the names of her classmates one at a time. She then handed the goody bag to them as she received with a huge smile. 😊

After the short party, little pumpkin stayed in school for her lessons while we headed home. When she came home from school, she excitedly reported to us that all her friends loved the cupcakes and their figurines. She was so happy celebrating her birthday at school but sad that it would be her last time. She sadly said that she will miss celebrating birthdays with her friends and teachers. Awwww……

Thank you, teachers, for your wonderful cooperation for assisting us with Emma’s birthday party. 😊

Little Pumpkin Is Turning SIX

Time is really brutal!! I cannot swallow that my little pumpkin will be turning SIX soooooooooooooooo SOON!!! It has been a super JOYFUL 5 years plus taking care of this little witty and cheeky little pumpkin. I remembered the day that she was born and she did not take her own sweet time to swim out of me but with just merely 5 pushes. Doctor announced and showed me when she was out which surprised me that it was so swift and effortless.

Today, we are celebrating this little one at the comfort of our home as the restrictions for parties are still at their least. I think celebrating birthdays at home can be the best as we can prepare whatever food we want and no travelling whatsoever too. All in one place! 😊

Prior to the party, I made some cupcakes for her birthday celebration at school and had kept some of the figurines for today’s party too. She loves the cakes and the figurines as they are her current favourite cartoons. 😊 hahahaha… not sure how long she will take them as her favourites.

Though there were no games and activities at home party, little pumpkin is happy to spend time to play with her cousins. They planned their own games and even turned their bedroom into TimeZone! Hahahaahahah… well, kids has the creativity in them that they can turn anything into a playground. 😊

At the end of the day, little pumpkin was overjoyed with the party we planned for her and she said that she wouldn’t mind having her birthday parties at home in the future as she said that she has all the toys in the house to share with her cousins and play with them with no time limit. 😊 hahaahahahah…

Well Done Lady Faith

This would be the happiest moment for any parents when your child is awarded for her achievements. I do not expect my children to be top students in their school or even in their respective classes, but I am totally blown away when Lady Faith came home and handed me a letter informing parents that she will be awarded for performing well in her Math.

I am a SUPER PROUD mummy today when Lady Faith is awarded for Best At Mathematics at school. She scored the highest in her class and amongst her P4 level. I am totally thrilled by how well she did this year and hubby is extremely proud of her for putting in so much effort to score. 😊 Thumps Up!

Tabi baby, we want to tell you how you have made us a pair of proud parents today by working so hard for your Math subject and even made it to the chart and awarded for Best In Maths. You cannot imagine how happy and proud we are! Thank you for this wonderful experience and we hope you will continue to work hard next year. 😊

We love you very much sweetie!

20 Years And Counting

Marriage is something that I considered an adventure. Well, there are lots of ups and downs in a marriage just like Indiana Jones. You will get through loads of obstacles before you find the treasure that you are searching for and when you find it, you would not want to lose it. The treasure that you find, you will try your best to keep it clean, polish it when it gets rusty and make sure you will have it with you till the day you bid goodbye.

Well, I am happy and blessed that we celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary this year. We planned and went to have our anniversary luncheon at one of our favorite restaurants; Basilisco located at Regent Hotel. We ordered the set lunch which was good for lunch, but we are missing their buffet… ohhhh… those free flow of burrata cheese is totally must-have!

Honestly, the 3-course luncheon was great. My main course was the Bolognese pasta which was a winner and hubby enjoyed his seabass. After we were done with our desserts and about to call for the bill, they presented us with another cake on the house for our wedding anniversary which was sweet. 😊 Thank you so much for the gesture. 😊

B, I am thankful and blessed to have you as my lawful husband and happy that we are keeping our vows after 20th years of marriage. May we continue to love each other the way we are as we grow old together. 😊 I love you so much! Happy 20th Anniversary!

Mango Jelly Cheesecake

This is requested by Lady Faith who is a big fan of mango and cheese. She enjoyed the strawberry cheesecakes she had once which was bought by my sister in laws for my birthday a few years back. Since then, she is somehow hooked to it.

I chanced upon the recipe and made my own strawberry cheesecake and Lady Faith loved it! With that, she believed in me and requested a different flavor instead. 😊 Well, when your loved ones requested for desserts, I will try to do make it happen. 😊

Though I have made the strawberry cheesecakes a couple of times, but… mango cheesecake will be new. I tried to do it anyway and she loved it! She ate almost three quarter of the cake although the mango was rather sour than sweet. She removed the mangoes and ate the cake…. Hahahahaahah…

Well, I guess I will be willing to try making different types of desserts as long as my loved ones are enjoying them. 😊

Lunch Out

I can’t remember when was the last time we brought the kids out to lunch. I would say that it is a rare opportunity these days due to the all the enrichment classes the kids are attending and piles of homework to be completed and the outbreak of the Coronavirus was not making things easier neither.

We are glad that we have this couple of school’s out day due to PSLE marking and we took this opportunity to bring the kids out to lunch. Knowing that Lady Faith has been craving for Japanese Ramen, we decided to bring her to Marutama located at Kallang Leisure Mall as we were on our way to return Mizuki’s water bottle which was left at our house yesterday. 😊

Lady Faith was super excited about luncheon and quickly ordered her ramen. She can’t wait to try it out as we told her that she had been to this restaurant when she was so much younger and used to share my portion. She was delighted to know and gave it a thump up after tasting it. 😊 she asked if the taste is the same as before and I would say… perhaps it was better at the branch located at Liang Court. Not sure about the chef at Kallang but not too bad too.

As of now, Lady Faith is a fan of Japanese Ramen and I guess we will have to check out for ramen joints for her to try instead of going back to the same restaurant. 😊

Extended Family Members Gathering

Who do I call my extended family members? Well, they are somehow or rather related to me in some ways or another. Well, from God-mas to god-dotters and God-grandma… hahahaha… well, that’s what I called extended family members. 😊

Anyway, we will try means and ways to get-together for bonding session and well, it can be anytime and anywhere or any occasion. This time, we did our long-awaited gathering at my place and at the same time, we celebrated mummy Florence’s birthday.

Usually, we will have some mahjong sessions while the kids played in the room. This time, we decided to give the MJ a miss and sat around the dinning table for our tea and chat the afternoon away. There were so much stuff to catch up and it was also good to know what is happening in our office though we may not be working in that company anymore.

Through the years, many things has changed and even many staff left the company like myself but I am very happy and blessed that I am still so close to my extended family members and some other colleagues whom I still keeping in touch with. I always believe that though time may pass so quickly but true friendships will always walk you to the end of your time. 😊

Happy blessed birthday mummy Flo and I want to thank you for your beautiful friendship and love for me. You are always there to hear my worst problems and helped me through and share those happy moments with me too. I thank God for you and may you continue to stay blessed. 😊 love you!

Grilled Teriyaki Squid

I would say this is one of my favourite dishes and if I do not need to share it, I am more than happy to FINISH this myself. 😊 I used to order this dish when I visit the Japanese Restaurants like Ichiban Boshi or Sushi-Tei.

Well, I think Sushi-Tei served one of the best Teriyaki Squid so far and I am kind of missing it. We did not have the luxury to dine out often due to work and school so, I decided to make it our own. 😊 Well, it wasn’t difficult to make this dish, just teriyaki sauce and oven. Well, of course, you need to marinate it before putting it into the oven and have it grilled for about 20 minutes.

The verdict of the dish by the family was pretty delicious but a little soft for hubby’s liking. Guess I can leave it in the oven for another 10 minutes perhaps so it will be slightly harder… 😊 will do that again soon….

Children’s Day Celebration

This would be the last Children’s Day celebration at little pumpkin’s childcare centre. It will be completely different celebration when she celebrates it in her Primary School next year. The teachers came together and planned a huge party for the kids and their theme this year is Superheroes.

Never before having a theme for children’s party but they made it exceptional this year and I am sure the kids of K2 will definitely have a blast. Well, I did not get little pumpkin any superheroes costumes but got her a cape & a mask instead. I just put her on a supergirl t-shirt and a cape… Voila! She turns into a cute little SuperGirl!

She was really excited about the celebration and can’t wait to share the muffins with her friends and teachers too. Feeling happy and excited, she set off to school happily! She told me that she can’t wait to have the party at school as there will be no lessons and just purely good fun! Hahahaahahahah….

Yes, Children’s Day is all about having fun and being yourself! It’s definitely okay to put the books aside for the moment and have a blast!

Happy Children’s Day kiddos!

DIY Pizza

After making our own pizza during the circuit breaker and the girls are hooked instantly. They are always excited to make their own pizza as they are allowed to put in anything they like.

As usual, when they make their own pizzas, my packet of cheese will be gone in seconds and at times, not enough to cover their mini pizza. YES… MINI! Their pizzas are always cheesy and full of mushrooms, bacons/ham or tomatoes and with more cheese.

When it is done, at times, they would prefer one of the pizzas to have truffle oil while the other plain. Well, that is a good choice I would say coz’ you get to eat both flavours. 😊 I can save some money on ordering pizzas since we can make it our own. 😊

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival

This year, we can’t seem to celebrate anything due to Covid-19. In the past years, we will usually have dinner with our family and will bring the kids to walk around with their lanterns around the neighbourhood but it was all quiet this year.

For our family, we celebrated this festival with a simple dinner and the kids managed to light up their lanterns in our porch. We wanted to let them walk around our neighbourhood but it was really quiet and guess it will be safer in our own home though they will have more fun outside.

We enjoyed the mooncakes while the kids played with their lanterns but it was not really completed as we couldn’t find the moon. It was cloudy and guessed the moon was covered by the clouds. I was pretty happy that the girls enjoyed their lantern moments as it is able to light up not only the lantern itself but the walls above and the floors had images of the pictures. 😊

Let’s pray hard for the virus to leave the world so that we can have peace and more opportunities to spend time with our family members.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone!

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

After the lantern making a few days ago, little pumpkin is finally bringing her lantern to school for celebration. She is so excited that she wanted to hold it as she walked to school but I told her that it is better to protect the lantern by putting it into a bag.

Well, she reluctantly agreed and did as requested. When she arrived at school, she quickly asked her form teacher to look at the lantern that I made for her. She was happy and proud of the lantern and she also showed to her classmate who was just nearby.

When she arrived home from school, she could not stop talking about the celebration and how much her friends loves her lantern. She said that she allowed all her friends to take turns to play and she was happy that everyone loves it. 😊 hahahahaahahah….

Lantern Making

It has been years that I have been helping kiddos to make their lanterns when they started their playgroup. When they were younger, the teachers at school will help them with lantern making or perhaps they will get parents to make a simple one so that they can bring it to school for celebration.

This year, being the last year for little pumpkin, I decided to assist her to make a nice one which we can keep and use. :0) Using the leftovers thick ice-cream sticks from making the jewelry boxes for teacher’s day, I came up with a design that might last for a long time. 😊

Little pumpkin has her own idea of what her lantern would look like and I tired to accommodate and finally came out with the design. I used up many ice-creams sticks to make the lantern and after all the printing, sticking and assembling, the final product turned out to be amazing! 😊

I showed it to little pumpkin and she was over-joyed and thrilled to see her lantern. She is so happy that she said that all of her friends will be excited to see and play with her lantern. Well, as for me, I am really proud of myself for being able to create this cool lantern for her in a couple of hours and having it lighted up with a bulb was really wonderful. Now, this lantern is not only for celebration but we can also put into good use. Lady Faith loves it and she wants it to be in her room as a side table lamp. 😊

Woohoo!!! Mission completed and kiddos are happy! Yippy!

Make Your Own Costume

I realized that little Pumpkin’s school has loads of activities lately and the most recent one will be getting the kids and parents to work out a costume together. I am totally in shock but there is no way out for me. I just had to get down to do it with little pumpkin.

I checked with the teacher in charge and was told that we can do anything from a headdress to a full costume using recycle materials. Honestly, I am kind of lost when it comes to creating stuff with things you can recycle or used items found at home. I discussed with her and we decided to make it simple. Told her that I will try to work out a headdress for her as it should not be too complicated and difficult for us to make.

Well, I searched the storeroom for some wrappers and ribbons and started to search for designs. I found some nice feathers online and have them printed out and cut them out slowly. Little pumpkin love the designs and she wanted to put in some effort so, she did some of the cutting. 😊

Finally, the whole headdress is coming together after an hour of work and it looked pretty cool! Little pumpkin was really thrilled how the headdress turned out and she is really excited to show it to her friends and teachers. We had her tried on and she was looking cool!

Mmmh… I wonder what else is next after this… hahaahahahah
