Goodbye Ariston Hello Fisher!

It was 9 years ago when we first set sight on the ‘manly’ 1.8m in height Ariston at Mayer. It was simply love at first sight for both of us. When we bought it and we can’t wait to have it seated nicely in our kitchen.

9 years later, we had to say goodbye… my faithful and wonderful Ariston had to make way for our new found love Fisher & Paykel. It broke down once and we tried to save it; managed to keep it for 1 year or so but last Friday, it finally let go!

I felt really sad when mum told me that the fridge was not working well. After discussing with hubby, we finally decided to get a new fridge rather sending it for repair. For me, it was really hard to let go as it has been there in my kitchen for a good 9 years!

This afternoon, Fisher sent our new fridge and man… I was surprised that my eyes turned red and tears kind of swell up… Strange you might think… sighz… Anyway, I was all smiles when I welcomed my new fridge… it was really handsome but somehow a bit SHORT la… mmmh… guess I am ‘In Love’ again!

Buddy Dinner Date

It’s been a long time since we last meet for dinner and finally after many weeks of planning, we made it! Belinda, whom I used to work closely with as she was from the Accounts Dept and took care of my accounting stuffs. In fact, we used to be ‘Partner-In-Crime’. Hahaahahahahaha

Anyway, we met up for dinner Vivocity. Man, Vivocity is always crowded and though the building is huge but somehow it was so crowded that we were little space to move around due to the fashion show.

Dinner at Akashi was great. It was my second visit to this restaurant and virgin visit for Belle. As usual, we were busy browsing through the menu as soon as we were seated. Cozy and quiet corner was our table and it was supposed to be quiet corner but guess both of us were over excited to meet and we couldn’t be bothered with the couples sitting next to us!

For starters, we were served with the Japanese peas and we ordered our dishes. For Belle, she finally chose Teriyaki Salmon though she was caught in between Tempura & Salmon. Greedy! For me, I had the Cha-soba set with sushi and we ordered Tempura Ebi as our side dish. VERY GREEDY!

As both are photo-taking freaks… we started taking pictures of our food as soon as they were placed on our table. It was really fun as Belle is pretty ‘PRO’ in taking pictures. Man… you should take a look on those pictures she took on her blog… simply beautiful. Mmmh… I am honored to be invited by Belle to be her model for her portfolio… Can’t wait man…

It was indeed a great dinner date with a friend whom I know for more than 10 years now…. Thanks Belle for the great company.

Cheers!

Long Overdue Crab Dinner

We have spoken about the best crab in Singapore and my ‘kaiye’ mentioned that we will all go for a crab dinner but it was postponed for many times till today!

Right after work today, we travelled to Upper Thomason to have Cze Cha. It was one of the famous Cze Cha (Ban Leong) in Singapore. I have been there couple of times for dinner with family and it was great.

We ordered quite a few dishes for a group of seven. We had chili crab, steam and fried buns, sambal kangkong, deer meat on hot plate, deep fried squid, mee goreng, sweet & sour pork, prawn paste fried chicken and steam pomfret.

Among the dishes, my personal favorite would be the prawn paste fried chicken, sweet & sour pork and chili crab. My Kaiye enjoyed the chili crab though we found the gravy rather salty.

Anyway, it was a great dinner and we will be looking forward to the next one… hahahaahahaha

Too Stressed Up?

I have no idea what was happening in the office... it really beats me too... here are my two SUPER STRESSED UP or Super 'BO Liao' Buddies at work....

Mr. Curry

Minowa-san mentioned about Mr. Curry to us during our last lunch outing at Otto. He told us that Mr. Curry at Central served more than 100 types of curry rice. It was really interesting and yes, we were invited to try it out today.

When we arrived, Rie & I was shocked by their window display! There were more than 50 different types of curry rice displayed at the window pane and besides that; there were sushi, ramen, desserts etc… very cool and colorful indeed.

Without delay, we were seated and started to ‘study’ the menu carefully! Honestly, I couldn’t make up my mind where to have for lunch as there were so many dishes I would like to try but impossible to complete the mission in an hour’s lunch.

Rie & I feeling extremely greedy… we ordered our own set and we added extra toppings for our set… hahhahaha…. Minowa-san ordered spinach salad and his pork cutlet with extra spicy curry. Rie had the spinach omelet rice and pork cutlet as her extra toppings. For myself, I had beef steak set with super spicy curry and karaage (fried chicken) as extra toppings. *shy shy* very greedy la…

The restaurant’s décor was really cool and cute. I really felt like I was in some ‘Chocolate Factory’ movie set up… I felt young again! Simply love the Mr. Curry & the fat cat soft toy which was so cute…

The spinach salad was really tasty and very appetizing too. Our main dish followed shortly and I simply loved the beef steak! It was tender & juicy though thick. The minus point, only 4 slices!!!!

The pork cutlet and the Karaage were good too. Now the curry, it was very tasty but wasn’t spicy enough though I requested for SUPER SPICY. It was Japanese curry but not quite like that typical flour curry that I had tried before. It was not thick and best of it; it does not have the ‘flour’ taste!

The desserts really looked good but our stomach did not have anymore space for it. I will be back to try other dishes and definitely will keep some space for desserts… hahahahaahah
