Last Day of 2011

It’s almost the new year and for a new beginning…

Today, Faith is very happy that both papa & mama are at home to chill out with her. It was a hot sunny afternoon where we preferred to stay indoor; I brought out her remaining Christmas presents for her to unwrap them.

She was really overjoyed when she saw the gifts once again and it was fun time to her to tear off those wrapping papers. She found many cool and nice gifts from aunties and uncles. She simply loved the ‘angry bird’ which was given by her ‘Yee Ma’. She was hugging it and saw her kicking the bird like a ball!!

We did not go for any celebration but it was just a simple dinner at home. She stayed with us watching the countdown on TV while playing with her toys. We wanted to put her to bed but at the same time, we too wanted to have her to countdown with us. (She was more awake than us!!)

Happy New Year everyone!

Hi-Tea Gathering

It’s almost the end of the year and my buddies planned a hi-tea together before we bid goodbye to 2011.

We went to 10 Scotts located at Grand Hyatt Hotel for hi-tea and it was my first time visiting the venue. Honestly, I did not know that there was such a place for hi-tea!! Hahahaahah… call me mountain tortoise lor!

When I arrived, everyone already started with the delicious spread at the food stations. I was surprised that they served Parma ham for hi-tea… that was very rare. I was happy to see some good selections of cakes for desserts and in fact, I was more excited to have more Parma Ham!

It was certainly a good short gathering and as usual, we are the noisy group seated at the corner… the place is cozy and very home-liked… kind of like the place but it will be too costly to visit often…

Thanks Threz for the arrangements…

Happy 19th Months

Our child turns 19th Months today and I still remembered the moment she was born… it seemed like yesterday!

Happy 19th Months sweetheart!

Boxing Day

Today, we are invited to have a family gathering at my cousin’s place. This time, they also invited our family friends for tea together. My cousin kindly prepared some delicious snacks while I brought over some too.

They planned the gathering well as they rented the movie ‘Ta Shi Jie’ for the elderly to watch. We thought that was quite a good one to keep the elderly entertained as the movie will remind them of those sweet old days of Singapore.

For the kiddos, they were having their fun time playing with the toys and slides in the house. Though there were only 2 of them but it seemed like there were more!!! Yes, it was quite noisy!

After the gathering at my cousin’s place, I brought some presents out from the room for Faith to open them as it is Boxing Day. She was really happy to unwrap those gifts from aunties & uncles; and checking those items after opening them.

Since it’s twelve days of Christmas, she will take her time to check out her gifts…Thank you pals for the beautiful gifts to our little Tabi.

Christmas At The Tans’

It’s almost like a yearly affair that we gather at our dear friends’ place for Christmas party. This year, she has a theme for us instead of a normal party. We were supposed to be in RED for the party though it’s at her cozy home. No EXCUSE!

As usual, she will prepare a great spread of delicious food to welcome us and mostly all our favorite dishes since school days. I remembered that we used to fight over the sambal quail eggs and fish balls which are Aunty Sarah’s signature dish. Apart from that dish, we also stood by at the kitchen door to wait for the fried chicken wings! Those were the school days…

However, we did not change a bit coz’ we are still fighting over the dishes till now coz’ they were so delicious and only get to taste at gathering like this. So to say… once a year!

I thought the RED theme was great as it was such a beautiful festive season and most of us were in red. I would say… we painted the house RED! Hahaahahah…

As usual, we will help ourselves to the food and sit around chatting rubbish… kids are playing on their own and this time, Faith was more familiar with Chloe & Scottie as they had spent good quality time together in KL. For the adults, we chat, eat and drunk our night away…

It was one gathering that I would not want to miss as this is the time to share and be with your friends but mostly with those whom I regarded them as family!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Eve Dinner

It’s almost Christmas and this is one of the busiest festive for me! It was a short working day at the office but most of us were busy exchanging gifts instead of really working! By lunch time, my bag of gifts were distributed and head home to prepare dinner.

We were supposed to have dinner at in-laws but plan changed so, I prepared dinner. Bought the new Air Fryer (recommended by Leng) and finally get the chance to test it out. Hubby mentioned that since it is Christmas, we should have Western dishes… so, I made sausages, salads, mashed potato, grilled fish and beef steak.

The Air Fryer is really not too bad but the only con about the fryer is the space to cook the food is too small. However, the sausages were not oily compared to frying it and the fish tasted really good. It was tender and non-oily at all. Thumps UP for that!

We haven’t attended mid-night mass after Faith was born. I do miss attending mid-night mass but guess I have to wait for another year. We feel that it will be too tiring for Faith to sit through the mass during her sleeping time.

It was a simple celebration at home and the only thing missing was the fireplace and snow… that would be perfect won’t it!

Goodbye Kuala Lumpur

Today we will be driving back to Singapore. We decided to have breakfast in the hotel since we do not have much time to dine elsewhere. The hotel’s breakfast buffet was pretty good… there were a couple of stations like the egg station, Japanese station where they served sashimi, local station where they served samosas, spring rolls etc…

After breakfast, we check out of Traders Hotel and head down to Mid-valley to do some grocery shopping. It was our first time visiting that place though we have been to KL a couple of times. The shopping mall housed 2 giant supermarkets, Jusco and Carrefour. Bird’s family & mine went to shop at Jusco while Theresa & family went to Carrefour.

I would say that shopping at Jusco is a pleasant especially the cost of milk powder there was cheaper than SIN. We bought of our stuff for our little one as her stuff was the most expensive ones. We bought stuff like diapers, wet wipes, milk powders and some other kitchen stuff for our home. I wanted to buy more but after considering our luggage, I shopped wisely.

We stopped by at the rest area for lunch at A&W (coz’ we do not have it anymore in SIN) but the restaurant was pissed us off with the thousands of flies there… we are puzzled how the flies gets to the restaurant and in fact, the whole place are full of flies!!!

After our quick lunch, we continued our drive back home. The drive was alright except that it was raining so heavily half way through… but we managed to reach home in good spirits.

Oh yes… wishing Theresa & Zen a very Happy Wedding Anniversary!

Thank you pals for making this road trip a wonderful one! Let’s plan for the next one! *winks*
