Road Trip To Kuala Lumpur

Our road trip dream is finally happening after planning for a long time!

We set off early this morning after a great breakfast at West Coast MacDonald’s. Before setting off, we received a scare from Bird coz’ she messaged to inform that their car couldn’t start this morning but finally managed after getting the people down to fix the battery. The kids were just as excited as the adults! Thanks to Vivan’s goody bags to keep us awake during our trip.

It was quite a long & slow drive as we were travelling with our kiddos. We made a few stops at the rest area for toilet breaks and getting some snacks. We did not stay long as we wanted to get to our destination as soon as possible.

We stopped by for lunch in Melacca led by Bird & family. The dishes we ordered were delicious and I was really happy to taste good peranakan food in Melacca. I would say some of the dishes tasted nicer than the ones in Singapore.

After our delicious lunch, we continued our drive towards KL. By evening, we arrived at Traders Hotel KL which was kindly booked by Theresa. The hotel is very nice and business liked. Their rooms were spacious and cozy. Faith seemed to like our room very much as she was moving around the room and trying out the sofa, and chair in the room. With some time given before dinner, we took the opportunity to freshen up Faith and ourselves.

We head out for dinner at Overseas Restaurant which was not too far from our hotel. We managed to get to the venue with the help of the GPS. When we arrived, the restaurant was already filled with people but we were led to our private room since we booked in advance.

We pre-ordered some signature dishes like roast pork & char siew & herbal duck. Hubby checked out their menu and ordered the rest on the spot. It was our first time dinning there and I would say that this is one good restaurant that you should try when you visit KL.

The roast pork & char siew were delicious… okay… do not compare to those in Hong Kong. The duck was soft and super tasty. We ordered the home-made tofu with salted fish on hot plate, fried egg & vegetables. We totally enjoyed every dish as they were so delicious!

After dinner, we returned to hotel as it started to pour. We planned for an early night coz the drivers must be so tired after a long drive and we are planning to travel up to Genting tomorrow. Till then… Good night everyone!
