Alpha Holy Spirit Weekend

It was a very hot afternoon when I went to church to serve at Alpha’s Holy Spirit Weekend. This is one really meaningful weekend as I usually get touched by the Holy Spirit through praise & worship.

I specially enjoyed the agape meal where we had ‘bread & wine’ after Father Anthony gave a short message after the gospel reading. I enjoyed that moment coz it symbolized our Lord Jesus and then came the lighting of the candle which symbolized Christ being our Light.

I remembered I was touched by the Holy Spirit when I was serving Alpha 11 or 12 while we were singing praise to our Lord. I actually felt cold air at my feet (by the way, I was wearing jeans and sneakers then) where there were no fans around! It was an amazing feeling indeed.

This time, I felt a hot flush down my spine and I started to sweat! The air-cons were on but I was still sweating and guess that was the Holy Spirit…

The evening ended with the ever funny entertainment night where all the groups have to put up an item. I got to say that this time, all the groups were spotting and I particularly enjoyed the performance by the host and helpers… it was really fun!

Chilling@Work

It was a cooling Thursday evening and almost time to knock off... both Linda & I were chilling and were checking out the Isetan sale brochures.

We were so engrossed in our conversation that we did not notice our boss was at his desk… but anyway, who cares right… it’s almost knocking off time!!!

Baby Shower

I have never known what Baby Shower is all about until my buddy decided to organize one for me. Theresa & family kindly planned the party for me and baby at their cozy home at Toa Payoh.

When I arrived in the afternoon, I was really amazed how pretty she had decorated the hall and balcony just for the party. It wasn’t a big party but more of close friends gathering and spending time together before I pop! The theme was Pink & White…. Simply beautiful!

I can’t help but noticed that there were cupcakes, childhood biscuits, mini lollipops and strawberry pocky beautifully displayed on the kitchen counter. Yes, they were all in PINK and WHITE.

When everyone arrived, we sat down at the living area to chat about everything and anything. The adults also started playing WII games and became very competitive!! It was really hilarious to see Tricia playing tennis with Ethan…

The afternoon passed so fast when you are having so much fun with your buddies and after preparing meals for the kiddos, the adults went dinner at Mellben Seafood which was opposite her house. The dinner was great and as usual… lots of laughter!

Before heading back to their home, we bought durians as our desserts though we were really full! Usual lah… we were just being greedy! The durians were not too bad and though I had only one seed! Sighz… it was pathetic!

While we were leaving for the night, as usual, we started taking pictures and posing with our famous silly but cool poses!! This time, it was the kiddos and husbands waiting for the wives rather than the other way round!!!

Thanks family and friends for the wonderful party which I will tell baby about in the future… luv you guyz…

GM’s Farewell / Welcome Party

It’s the final day in the office and Singapore for our GM Kitagawa after his three years assignment here. He hosted a party at his residence (the usual party place) and most staff attended this event.

Our GM opened started the party after his speech and an opening speech from our new GM Yasuno. Mr. Yasuno who used to be stationed in New York spoke pretty good English and I got to say that he sure has a good sense of humor. After the toast led by Ainsles, dinner began!

The dinner was catered from Shima Japanese Restaurant which was delicious but costly! I thoroughly enjoyed the macaroni salad and the curry rice… supper YUMMY!

Half way through the dinner, Agnes represented the office to give a ‘thank you’ speech to our GM Kitagawa and we presented him with gifts and flowers. Our GM became very emotional while thanking us and some even had tears in their eyes… awwwww…..

While everyone was enjoying themselves with the excellent karaoke system, Mr. Ishii came over to offer us drinks (as usual). I told him that I couldn’t take alcohol and he offered me MILK in return… I was really surprised and shocked to see a glass of milk delivered by the house-keeper!!! Ishii-san was really hilarious and cute!

Everyone was having so much fun and we even put some Bollywood music and everyone started dancing! It was funny and cool at the same time. Both of our GMs also joined in the dance and it was quite a scene…

Kitagawa GM requested all of us to have picture taken with him for his keepsake purpose and we could see tears welled up in his eyes. It was very emotional … how can he not feel emotional after spending three ‘happening’ years in Singapore right!

The party ended off with a song by our new GM Yasuno and a duet by our Kitagawa GM with my darling… finally before everyone head their separate ways, we had a group picture taken…

Goodbye Kitagawa GM and wishing you all the best in your new assignment!
