Lady Faith’s Ballet Open House

Each time when there is an open house organized by her ballet teacher twice yearly, I will not want to miss as this is the one time we are able to see how much they have grown or learnt.

With no disappointment, hubby & I thoroughly enjoyed watching how much she has grown from the first open house back in 2014. It was truly entertaining to watch and we are one of those proud parents who took out our phones to record the moment.
With that, the teacher took the opportunity to announce to us for their enrollment for the exam in April 2018. I knew that was coming and asked Lady Faith if she wants to continue her journey by committing herself for the 9 months training again. She answered with a YES without any hesitation and I was really happy that she has learnt to commit herself to a skill or hobby that might last her a lifetime. J

Last FREE Zumba Lessons @ Compassvale

It’s been about one year plus when the RC organized the free Zumba lessons at the multi-purposes hall near my block and since then, it had become popular by the weeks.

I remembered for the first few sessions, there were only about 20 participants and gradually, we had about 35 and till date, we had about 60-80 participants. We were surprised to know that some of the ladies who attended this workout came from all parts of the island and the furthest were from Jurong, Pasir Ris, Tampines and even some from Yishun.

With that, the RC is concerned about the attendance and accused our instructor bringing in her own students for this free session. For those who attended her lesson, we know that it’s purely by the word of mouth of those who attended and found her workout pretty good. It was then when the RC found out that majority who attended were not residents living in Compassvale area and decided to end the Zumba lessons.
Today being the last lesson, it was emotional as I will be missing my kakis that I got to know through this workout. Though we meet only once a week, it was a great meet up for both catch up and workout sessions. It was a special one and half hour workout since it was the final one and most of us were feeling sad but yet happy at the same time that the workout was prolong.

We took the time to snap some picture before the workout as I had to leave earlier for Lady Faith’s Ballet Open House which I wouldn’t want to miss.

We wrote some petition to the RC for this wonderful workout to continue in the near future and we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Thank you Joanne for the wonderful weekly sessions and I will be miss you!

Zumba @ Millenia

It’s been a long time since my last had my Zumba lesson organized by our building management. I chanced upon an email by Katryne about the events in our building and realized that it has been long time since we last participated in their programs.

I gathered buddies Jessica, Irene & Carrie to join me for an hour workout after office hour and we were surprised that it was quite crowded when we arrived at the venue. I remembered that they used to have the lessons at the open space near the taxi stand but decided to relocate it to an empty office at Centennial Tower due to low rates of attendance.
The instructor was a young lady but filled with energy. However, her moves and music were not to our liking. It was quite messy in my opinion and there were a few steps or moves that I actually skipped or perhaps did my own…. Haahahahahaah…

It was a good workout though it wasn’t up to our standard. Hey… it’s FREE right… so, I can’t really ask for much.

Farewell Jan!

Though we may not be very close but somehow I felt the connection when we worked together for our annual dinner and dance in 2015. I remembered that I was automatically involved or recruited to the organizing committee and Jan was our chairman.

She was one of the newbie in our office and that’s why it is quite usual that she was ARROWED by her superior to assist organizing. Working with her for this 60th Anniversary Dinner & Dance was quite a great experience as she is very accommodating and understanding in terms of her acceptance of other’s ideas when it comes to open discussion.

Other than working on the D&D project, we hardly had a chance to chat but given the chance of having chill out organize by the company, we were able to reconnect again. She is quite an intelligent lady and someone who is easy to get along with.
I felt sad for our company that they are yet AGAIN loosing another good and hardworking employee! I guess this is the norm for the company to see good workers resign and stepping up in other companies thereafter. I felt that this company is really NOT looking into the problem of letting the talented ones to leave and no intention to do anything about it for they believed that there are always better ones out in the fields.

Oh well, it’s not my company afterall and I am not interested to know what will the future lies for them. I will be planning my future soonest and honestly, I can’t wait to leave… hahahahaahahh

All the very best to you Jan on your new adventure…. J

National Day Celebration @ School

Our kiddos are excited about school as they are given the permission to wear RED & WHITE for the school national day celebration.

Lady Faith, who is celebrating for the first time in her primary school, was extremely excited and she can’t wait to be at school. I heard that there will be some performance by both upper primary students and teachers and that perhaps made the celebration more exciting.

As for our little Emi, she too was excited about her ‘party’ at school coz’ we prepared fried rice as the potluck dish. I guessed this would be her 1st celebration for National Day too and that’s why she is pretty much excited about it. She requested to have several photos taken after changing into her Red & White outfit and happily declared that there is no teaching at school today due to party.
I remembered those days back in school during such celebration, we were happier to have an early release than what went on. Hahahahaahah… Once school event ended, we will hang out with friends either for movie or perhaps a simple meal to chill.

Anyway, happy that our girls are learning something about National Day from their school and I do wish that one day we can watch the parade at the venue together as a family in the future.
