KTV Gathering

It’s been a long time since I last joined colleagues for KTV. Finally today, it was successfully organized and we went to the newly opened Party World at Liang Court. I have not been to Liang Court for the longest time and it’s really good to visit again after long time.

Left the office around 6:30pm after some Nishida-san’s India issue has been settled. I was really worried about his safety and hoping that he will be back to SIN as soon as possible. It was a short bus ride from our office to Liang Court and we took some pix on board bus 195…

When we arrived at Liang Court, we wanted to get a quick bite but somehow we were unable to decide what to have for dinner. Finally, we decided to buy McNuggets up to the KTV instead. We were singing and at the same time enjoying our nuggets….

It was a group of 10 occupying the large room. The KTV was really new with cool decors and nice sound systems. The songs list was updated and we started off the night with songs by ABBA and followed by many other cool disco numbers.

Everyone was really happy singing and some enjoying playing dices too. Our camera-woman Angie took tons of pictures and you probably cannot imagine how many pictures we took that night… it was indeed an enjoyable night out with the colleagues after a long day of work!

Royal Visit

Don’t be fooled by the title of this article… we were invited by the Ms. Ivy Ng, Sales Manger of Royal Plaza on Scotts to view their rooms and facilities.

There was a fresh aroma when we arrived at the lobby and for a moment, we thought the fresh sense was from the lit candles. We were told by Ivy that it was from the centralized air-cleaner in the hotel. It was indeed something new and pretty fresh impression for a start. She kindly showed the Deluxe & Premier Rooms, meeting rooms and the pool. The rooms were really cozy and nice though not really big in size. Like the Premier Room especially the see-through glasses bathroom! Man… that was really kinky man…

Walked through their Heat Lounge and it was a love at first sight. The décor and ambience was great; it has that ‘velvet underground’ sort of ‘FEEL’ but the area was quite small for office party… very comfortable place to chill and just relax. Hmmh… I will try chilling out there next time.

We were invited to dine at Carousel where they served a fantastic Halah kitchen buffet spread. I was really impressed by the spread… for starters, there were lobsters, crayfish, oysters, prawns, clams, mussels etc… the salad bars was awesome too, a wide range of salad dressings. The mains were great too with chilli crabs, chicken rice, pasta station, rib eye & roast herbal chicken station, sausages, Indian cuisine, 4 different types of soups etc… I guess there is no need to mention about their desserts… there were 3 desserts stations; fruits, fondue, cakes & ice-cream.

Besides the awesome spread, I simply loved their décor and their cutleries. Everything was custom-made for the restaurant; very nice. What brought us to attention was the way their staff celebrated birthdays for diners. They came out as a group with the cake and started singing their very own Birthday Song to the birthday boy/girl. We witnessed 2 birthday celebrations and both birthday songs were different. How interesting isn't it. Maybe I should suggest this place for my friend’s birthday to surprise them…

It was indeed an enjoyable night at the Royal Plaza on Scotts.

Sneaking Out....

Was informed through SMS that TopShop, DP, Warehouse etc will be having a private 30% + 10% discount for 1 day. Being a great fan of DP, I told Leng that we should ‘cheong’ out earlier to check out the stuff to avoid the lunch crowd.

At around 12 noon, we sneaked out as bosses were out. It didn’t take me long to get my blouse which I eyed on for 1 week. I was really happy with the discount and I managed to get it at a much cheaper price than I thought.

Bought a couple of stuff from Warehouse and guess what; I spent less than $100 for all my 3 items. Well-done!

We had lunch at Changing Appetite which was located near Carl’s Junior. The food was great and their set lunch was reasonable priced. I had grilled chicken set which includes soup of the day, main dish, dessert and free flow of drinks at the cool price of SD12.90.

Though it was just lunch but we certainly enjoyed every bit of it. Mmmh…. Will visit there again I believed as the food was delicious… Yummy!

Terror In Mumbai

I was saddened by the news this morning on the Mumbai bombings planted by terrorists. It was not known why they bomb India’s busiest business district. CNN reported that bombs blasted a few places in Mumbai including the famous train station and 2 luxury hotels. Sighz…

My heart sank immediately when Ah Leng told me that Nishida-san was stranded in Mumbai and the hotel he stayed (Oberoi) was one of the hotels invaded by terrorist! I was totally left dumbfounded but was relieved to know that he was safe though we were not sure when he could return to SIN.

I was told that he was really lucky to have avoided the tragic scene at the hotels as he was only 20 minutes late… if he was there 20 minutes earlier, he would have been one of the hostages reported.

Everyone in the office was worried about his safety and some of us were trying our best to get him out of the country. We tried calling the Embassy of Japan, the airline and even Mumbai Airport to check in what way we could help.

It was difficult as he left his passport in his hotel room safe and the terrorists held some hostages there which no one are allowed to enter the premises. Sighz… Really sad but at the same time; happy that he is safe and now taken care by our colleagues in India.

I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping that he will return to SIN safely as soon as possible.

Masquerade Party At Four Seasons

It’s almost coming to the end of year 2008 and we were invited to the annual party organized by Four Seasons Hotel.

At about 6:15pm, we left the office for the party happily and we were lucky that our driver Ismail was available to give us a lift. While we were waiting for him at the driveway, we noticed a woman who parked her car at the ‘drive-through’ lane which obviously creating a major jam! She came out of her car and spoke to the guard and eventually was chased away by the cars behind her. What amazed us was her terrible behavior when she pointed her sickening ‘third’ finger at us!!! We were innocent for God’s sake! We were all taken by surprise… what is the big freaking deal for a bitch that drives a Volkswagen sports (number plate: SJD 3768) but with such an unsightly behavior! C’mon, it’s no big deal if you are freaking RICH man… we’ll see when her wealth will collapsed and eventually walk to work! muaaahhhaaaaa

Anyway, our excitement rose when we arrived at Four Seasons. We were warmly welcomed by their staff and were told to create our own mask. The theme for the night was Masquerade and everyone was supposed to be MASKED… I decided not to create one as I was too lazy and my face is too gorgeous to be covered up… *vomit*

After a short introduction, the party started softly with some lame games… but I have to sore the food they served. The spread though not plenty but indeed scored with flying colors. I simply enjoyed the Salmon pie with cheese gravy, the Risotto, Seafood pasta, Turkey and the desserts….
Simply awesome!!

As usual, we were in the world of our own and for a moment, I noticed that our cocktail table had a few beautiful masks which weren’t made by anyone of us… okay; it was taken from the buffet spread decor and the food stations. We were having our own fun and totally forgotten that we were at the party.

The lucky draw prizes were fantastic man! The 1st prize was a cool 6 nights at Maldives!!! I would love to be the winner but unfortunately not that lucky. The night ended early and we were really happy and had a blast. Looking forward to another party…

Yummy Astons

Haven’t had steaks for quite awhile unless it’s a celebration or similar sort of occasion. My friend recommended me to try out Astons as it’s not only cheap but tasted really good. For a moment, I was wondering where this Astons is located and how ‘cheap’ are their steaks. I remembered there was this outlet at Katong area but usually very crowded and the queue was really long.

Later did I found out that Astons can be found some parts of Singapore and they are usually located at Kopitam! Really funny isn’t it. Told hubby about it and we went. We decided to try it out at one of their branches at Tampines.

When we arrived, it was indeed a kopitam and saw this little outlet at the corner. There were queues but it moved pretty fast. I noticed that many who were seated were waiting for their food too and I thought to myself… man… ‘Their business is good but mmmh… do I have to wait long for my food’…

About 10 minutes after we placed our orders at the counter, the soup was served. The soup of the day was mushroom soup and it was served with 2 slices of garlic bread. The soup tasted good and creamy which was quite similar to Jack’s Place. Then our medium rare Rib-Eye was served shortly after. My 1st impression of my steak was really good. The mushroom gravy aroma was great though the presentation of the dish was very normal.

The meat was really tender with the first cut and it gave me satisfaction at my first bite. Simply awesome!!! The piece of rib eye portion was perfect; the mash potato was tasty but didn’t really enjoy the corn though… it was too SOFT! In fact, I preferred hubby’s spicy fries instead.

This dinner cost us only $28 for 2 and was really delicious. mmmh… I will try out their other items for my next visit… perhaps to other outlets. *winks*

The Wonderful 8th Anniversary

Time flies and we are already celebrating another anniversary! It seems like yesterday when I clearly remembered wearing that gorgeous white wedding gown walking down the aisle at Church of St.Teresa on this day.

Baby, thank you for this 8 years of happiness and may our love continues to grow till the end of time.

Happy 8th Anniversary baby and love you dearly...
