Muay Thai

This is one sport that I have always wanted to try and today; finally… my opportunity came knocking on my door!!

I signed up for this cool sport with my fellow colleague which was organized by the building management. I am all set and ready for it as it got me really excited to learn this super cool sport.

We set off to the venue after work and I am not surprised to see many participants for this workout. There were many ladies out casting the guys. Hahaahahah…. These days, it’s WOMEN in control!!! Hahahaahahh

The first fifteen minutes of warming up almost killed me softly… it was SUPER TOUGH but I was happy to get through it though cheated a few moves… the fun really started when you get to practice the moves with your partner. My partner, Irene, who is really small and gentle… hahahahaahh it was so much fun and as usual, we turned the cool sport into some ‘cha cha’ moves… hahahaahah

Totally cool workout that I would want to join again… THUMPS UP!

A Short Trip Across The Border

It’s school holiday and with just one week break, we can only visit our neighboring country Malaysia. Maggie kindly booked a unit at an apartment for us since hotel are already fully taken up.

The apartment is walking distance to Lego Land which is one of the most popular theme parks in Johor Bahru. When we arrived at JB early this morning, we went straight to Hello Kitty Town before checking ourselves into the apartment.

It wasn’t as crowded as we have expected and it was very comfortable to move around. Getting onto the rides was a breeze too. It became crowded as the hour passed and there was a big crowd during the Barney & friends performance but we were lucky to get some seats before the show started.
I would say that the kiddos enjoyed themselves very much taking rides, making cookies and also watching the shows while I was happily catching Pokemon…. Haahahahahaha

We were happy with the unit that Maggie booked for us as it was pretty big for a condo with two huge bedrooms. The kids were happy that they have lots of room to move around and best of all, there was a swimming pool on the top level.

The next morning, we headed down to the nearby mall for breakfast before checking out. Though some of the restaurants were closed but we managed to take a bite at the local cafĂ©. The breakfast was pretty bad actually and we ended up eating at KFC.

It may be a super short trip at JB but we certainly enjoyed the bonding sessions with our family.

MC Nine, Nine Night

We were once again requested by GM to organize a meet & drink party for our staff. Though the committees weren’t excited or enthusiastic about the whole event, we still had to follow instructions.

We went to check out some other party venues but we decided to head back to Zouk since we are familiar with their staff, place and they gave the best packages amongst the rest. I am happy that we will be having this event back at Zouk coz’ that will be the last time we will hold our party there. Zouk will be moving out of this current land this year and I will be missing this place… *sob sob*
Part of the committees arrived at the venue earlier to make sure everything’s in order and we were happy that the guest turned up on time. Some came earlier and started their happy hour earlier than usual and man… some even got drunk before the actual party starts!

After the short speech from GM, we had the dinner began and then had our first drinking game. Our master of ceremony Patrick invited some contestants for this game to compete for the fastest drinker. It was pretty much easy for someone who has a HUGE stomach for a giant size beer!
Then, we continued with the second game since everyone was on high spirit. MC managed to get some ‘volunteered’ staff where they will be paired up to drink up all the drinks on their table. Half way through the game, one clown actually decided to finish up the drinking so quickly that he poured the beer on himself and another clown found it fun and did the same! At the end of the game, it was pretty much messy!!!

We took a break since everyone was getting really “HIGH” with all the drinks and games… hahaahahah we got the dance floor ready and everyone started partying. It was really great to see everyone dancing on the dance floor including those department heads appeared to be quiet in the office… OMG, they are the WILDEST when you get them in the mood with drinks and music!!! Hahahahahaahah

We ended the party with lucky draws but staff was welcome to party on with their friends. As committee, we stayed a little longer making sure that everyone was fine. This is another successful party and we were happy that everyone had a great time!

Staycation At Amara Sanctuary Sentosa

Heard so much about this beautiful resort and we are finally here today. Checked ourselves into Amara after our luncheon at Vivocity and we were lucky to be upgraded from a deluxe room to their Larkhill Terrace.

We were filled with awe when we arrived at this beautiful room which is located behind the main hotel building. The room was very pretty indeed and there is a backdoor access to the pool only used by the residence staying at this terrace.
We did not waste any time and jumped into the pool after changing into our swimming gear. Both Faith & Emma were excited and happy to be in the pool even though they weren’t good at swimming. We were happy to have the whole pool to ourselves… guess it was a week day and believed that most people will prefer to stay over the weekends.

The kids really love the hotel and in fact, they did not even want to get out of the pool. While they were playing at the shallow end of the pool, I took the opportunity to sun bath… it’s been a long time since I last suntan!!!

We were up early the next morning woken by the sounds of peacocks… this is Sentosa and we will expect some wildlife loitering around the resort. True enough, we saw many peacocks hanging around on our way to breakfast. Their restaurant was not crowded and the buffet spread was not as exciting as those hotels on land. We ordered a-la-carte breakfast instead as buffet was too much for us.
This is one beautiful resort which we will be revisiting soon and THUMPS UP for their warm and friendly staff.

Our Zumba Work Out Time

Ever since the building offered free Zumba classes, we have been looking forward to the workout every Thursday be it rain or shine!

Today’s workout had to be held at a closed door premises as it was pouring outside in the afternoon. As the floor was still wet, having the class held at Centennial Tower was the alternative.
In my opinion, I would very much prefer the outdoors as the office space provided was not too suitable for workout. The ventilation wasn’t too good and jumping on the semi-concrete floor wasn’t that comfortable…

Anyway, what matters most is the company you are working out with and the instructor… afterall, it was a great workout...

Cutie Pie’s School Journey Begins

Seriously?? Emma is going to SCHOOL?? OMG!!!

Yes… those must be some of the questions you wanted to ask me when you read this post! Well, I am also asking myself these questions almost everyday…. Hahaahahahah
Our little one will be turning 21 months in a couple of days’ time and she has started school today. We decided to send her to childcare so that she can get more exposure and to know more cutie pies around her age. At the same time, my mum will be able to take rest while both are not at home.

She was pretty much excited when we told her that she will be going to school with her sister and she can’t wait to get her shoes on. On our way to school, she was quiet but smiley and suspected that she is checking out the routes to her school.

When we arrived at the gate, her face began to change slightly. She didn’t want to get into the school but we were thankful that her sister was there. Faith gently held her hands and told her to follow her. She even told her that she will bring her around especially to her class to see. Emma stopped crying and followed her sister.

We kind of expected the situation but were glad that it was all under controlled. J
