Happy Blessed Birthday To My Man!

I am really blessed to have you to be my life partner! Though we may not have many opportunities to pak tor anymore but we are enjoying family life with our kiddos which is more precious.

We are happy to celebrate papa’s birthday today with an early outing to luncheon and some shopping at Suntec City. It was a pity that we were unable to find your ideal gift for birthday but we did have a great time spending it together.

After a restful afternoon, we set off to dinner at Jamie’s at Forum. We are familiar with their dishes but it was nice to try out something new today since it’s hubby’s birthday. He took the shot and ordered some dishes to share. All the dishes were awesome (I believed all dishes on the menu are) and even mum enjoyed the dishes so much that she doesn’t even care if the sauce contained beef. Hahahahaah…. She mentioned that it was so tasty!

As we grow older, we prefer a simple dinner with family members or friends and this was exactly what we did today. It was simple, quiet and yet wonderful.

Happy birthday B! May you always be blessed with joy at work & good health! May the Lord’s eternal blessings be upon you always. We love you very much!

Milk Sha

Mmmh…. so sinful! Today, while we were shopping at Suntec City, I chanced upon this new bubble tea joint and there was a short queue so, I decided to try it.

I ordered their signature or the best seller in the house – their Taro Milk Drink instead of the normal bubble milk tea. I was taken by surprised when I took my first sip. It tasted really nice and reminded me of the bobo caca dessert but in the form of a drink. Superb indeed!
This is something interesting and I guess I will definitely come back again for this cool drink. 😊

Happy Blessed Birthday Mummy!

You’ve been my strength, my pillar and my SUPERMUM! You have given me so much beautiful things with your small hands and they meant the world to me!

Today, we are very happy to celebrate your birthday with you and your grand-daughters who loves you dearly.  Though we often dined at Pietro for many occasions, we are happy that you enjoyed the food as much as we do. It was really exciting and fun when the whole restauants sang the birthday song for you together. Thumps Up!

Happy blessed birthday mummy and may the Good Lord continue to protect you, watch over you and bless you with the best of health. We love you very much!

The Art Of The Journey

I am really happy that I made many friends during my working life in MC, guess that’s one of the things I enjoyed working there. Today, after I have left working society, I am so honored to be invited to join some events organized by the hotels.

I was really happy to join the party with my ex-colleagues at the event organized by ParkRoyal Group for the launching of the inaugural art publications. The event wasn’t the main topic for us as we were there just to have fun and bonding with each other.

The event kicked off with a detailed introduction of their art pieces such as paintings, displays and even a speech by our Senior Minister Dr. Mohd Maliki Osman, Ministry of Defence and Foreign Affairs. I would say that this would be the first time to meet a minister at such close range. He is such a nice and warm gentleman though I am never into politics.
While some of the guest were shown to some art pieces in groups, we preferred to stay around, chatted and checked out the food they served. Well, I would say that their food for tonight was really pretty to the eyes but somehow not pleasing to the stomach as the spread was limited and in a super small portion. We were rather disappointed but we had a great time spending bonding time together.

We left for our FULL dinner instead at the nearby Thai Cuisines and we were quite happy with our food as it wasn’t that costly.

Thank you bro for the invitation though I am no longer your client. Great to keep connected with you! Cheers!

Breakfast @ Wild Honey

Breakfast is usually not my type but I wouldn’t mind sharing a hearty breakfast with buddies once in a while.

Today, I am out early to meet up with 2 buddies of mine for breakfast and we will be indulging ourselves at Wild Honey Mandarin Gallery. I do enjoy their breakfast or I would say All Day Dinning Menu as you are able to have BREAKFAST even for dinner.

We ordered our favourites to share as the portion can be quite frightening (in the morning). Honestly, it not really about the breakfast but the companionship. It is always great to meet up with friends whom you don’t meet often or even often coz’ they played an important part in my life. I feel that it is always nice to catch up with friends coz’ at least you are still connected and getting some updates on their lives can be healthy.

Food is pleasant and tasty at Wild Honey but you definitely need to share if you are not a big eater. I definitely cannot finish 2 poach eggs or 2 sunny side up alone with the bread and smoked salmon alone.
As for their coffee, mmmh… no comment really – not the best and not the worst so far. It was alright but I will not have a second cup if you ask me. I was glad that the coffee was able to last my session with buddies… hahahahaah

We also pay a surprise visit at the clinic which Chantel was working. She was so shocked to see us though there were only 2 patients waiting in queue for the doctor. It has been a long time since I last saw her… I think she was only less than 10 years old then but now a grown-up lady. How time flies!!!
We walked over to Takashimaya for a quick shopping before we headed home. I really missed those carefree days where were able to hang around with friends after school and spend our afternoon with fun and laughter.

Thank you Za for organising this enjoyable breakfast session. Let’s do it again!

Happy Blessed Birthday Leng!

“Friends are the most important ingredient n the recipe of life” I simply agree with the saying and yes, having friends around you when you are up or down will make your day different! I love having friends around me than facing the enemies. Don’t you?

Today, not only we are celebrating Leng’s birthday in advance but we are also celebrating friendship. I always believe that it takes two hands to clap to work out a good and long-lasting friendship. We are happy that everyone was able to make it to give a boost to Leng’s birthday despite everyone’s busy schedule.

We went to P.S.Cafe located at Raffles City (the new branch) which I have never been before. Well, I love the environment and the setting of the café. It was so casual but cozy at the same time. We browsed through the menu and decided to order the dishes to share since some of us are pretty small eaters and we try to minimize food wastage.

To me, it is a pity that I was unable to have my favourite King Prawn Aglio Olio due to allergies but I was happy to try their Mee Goreng which was highly recommended by Leng. I simply love their truffle fries as they were so generous with the cheese and man…. they were DELICIOUS!
I got to give thumps up to the staff at P.S. Café Raffles City for their super good service and being so friendly and efficient to our needs compared to the other branches that I have visited.
After the cake cutting ceremony, we chatted a little while and we parted ways. It was somehow a very fun and enjoyable celebration though time is not on our side. I do hope that Leng had a great time though no wine or beers to compliment your dishes this time.

Happy Blessed Birthday Big Sister! Wishing you all the best in all you do and may you continue to be blessed with happiness, good health and hope you HUAT HUAT!!!

Racial Harmony Day

Little Pumpkin is all set to celebrate Racial Harmony Day at school today and she was so excited about it that she woke up early on her own.

Though she may not really understand what is Racial Harmony, she was really excited that she can put on her party clothes for school. Explained to her on the meaning of event she will be celebrating today and she noted that she is Chinese and that is the reason why I dressed her up in cheong sam! Hahahahaha…
She set off for school happily today and kept telling me that she will let me know what her friends’ outfits were when I pick her up. I told her that she just needed to enjoy herself and understand the meaning of the celebration at school.

Happy Racial Harmony Day everyone!

July Babies Birthday Celebrations

Yearly, we have 2 separate birthday celebrations for the July babies but this year, we have decided to have one celebration for all.

With my mum’s recent fall, we were very blessed to have her back for the party after being hospitalized for a night for observation. She was truly blessed with very minor injuries from her fall and I do hope that her blood clot in her brain will not spread but clear soon.

Today, we went to Spring Court for the party and the staff were really nice and warmth as usual. The dishes we selected were great and it was delicious. I would say that no celebration is a celebration if you are not celebrating with people who you love dearly.

Dinner was fun as usual with the kids around and this time, they even took over the mic to sing some songs for the everyone in the room. It was simple yet beautiful and everyone had a great time.
Wishing Mother-in-law, Father-in-law, mummy and my dearest hubby a blessed birthday and may you all be blessed with good health all the time.

My Heart Almost Stopped!

Today I had the greatest shock of my life! While I was in my study room arranging our UK pictures on Photobook, I heard a loud thump and I thought my book shelf has fallen. Then came the voice of Lady Faith shouted that grandma had a fall on the stairs!

I rushed out of the room and saw my mum laying on the stairs with her head on the floor, she was in pain. As I slowly lifted her head and her body up, I felt some liquid on my palms and I didn’t feel good about it. It was BLOOD! I was in panic but I thanked God for Lady Faith who was around and hurried to get a wet tissue to stop the bleeding from grandma’s head.

I left Lady Faith to watch over grandma while I quickly called the ambulance. I went back to check on my mum and changed the tissue to the towel. Lady Faith was so brave that she did not move a bit but kept watch on grandma till the ambulance came.

When they arrived, they did a check on my mum and gave thumps up to Lady Faith for stopping the bleeding from grandma’s cut at the back of her head and they informed that mum was fine and no bones were broken but had to send her to hospital for further checks.

As the ambulance only allows a family member, Lady Faith set off with the ambulance while I headed to the hospital on my own. When I arrived shortly, the doctors were examining my mum and we had to wait for further advise. I was allowed to be with my mum for a short while as I was needed for the admission procedures. I asked my mum if she remembered how she fell and she told me that she missed a step and couldn’t hold the hand-rail in time as she felt blurry after an afternoon nap. I always believed that there is a Guardian Angel in our life and I am really thankful that this angel might have helped my mum in a way or another to avoid her getting serious injuries.

Brought the kids home for dinner and headed back to the hospital in the evening to check on mum’s condition. Was told that she had to be hospitalized as they found blood clot in her brain after the CT scan due to the fall and want to keep watch.

I was worried sick the whole night and my eyes just couldn’t rest at all but I know that our Lord will heal and bless her. My Lord, please heal my mum from her fall and let her be well soon... Amen!

Hanging Out With The Ngs

When we know that the NGs are back in town after their trip to Scotland, we are happy to host them at our place for tea before we set off for dinner.

They brought a new guest today and it’s Stella’s niece, Julia. Very bubbly girl indeed and I was happy to introduce my Ondeh Ondeh Cake to them for tea. They were happy to see the vibrant colours of the Ondeh Ondeh cupcakes and they gave a thump up after tasting it. THEY LOVE IT! Woohoo!!!
While the kids were playing in the hall, the adults sat around the dinning area to chat about our trip to UK and sharing some funny moments to my mum. I really enjoyed sitting around chatting with friends and sipping tea together.

We set off for our dinner at Pietro and as usual, we had a blast with the family! Can’t wait for you guys to be back again next January and if possible, I am hoping to catch up with them again soon in Perth.

Wishing you guys a pleasant and safe flight back to Perth.

Kitchen Reopens As School Starts

After a FUNTASTIC 2 weeks of holidays in UK, we are back to reality. As school begins today, my kitchen is back to work too.

I was really happy to receive orders while I was in UK and though I am still suffering from the horrible jet lag, work must go on. I am happy that I was able to prepare the cupcakes for my Kaiye’s retirement treats to his colleagues and guess its an honor to be part of it.

I took the whole 4 hours to prepare all the 48 cupcakes and 24 muffins. It was quite a challenge as this is my biggest orders yet. I was happy that I was able to complete his orders and they are all ready to be delivered tomorrow.

I do hope the people in the office will enjoy the Chocolate with berries, Tiramisu, Ondeh Ondeh cupcakes and the chocolate muffins that he ordered. 😊
Kaiye, thank you for the orders and I wish you a blessed and happy retirement!
