Chilling Out With Colleagues…

Though the weather has been weird for the last couple of days but somehow our night out still remained unchanged. It was planned after our last outing at The Legends and this time, we planned to just drink and chill…

We had an enjoyable bus ride from office to Mohd. Sultan and as usual, once you're seated, Angie's camera will be out in action. hahahaah... The bus was not crowded so, we took some pictures to pass time...

Before heading down to EM Bar at Gallery Hotel, Philip, Angie, Jessie and I went to try out the Bak Ku Teh at the corner of Mohd. Sultan. Food was served fast as it wasn’t crowded. Well, we ordered the usual Bak Ku Teh dishes and we were quite disappointed as it wasn't as tasty as we expected.

We were given a cozy sofa corner with the help of my friend Aiqi who is a regular patron there. As it was still Happy Hour, we ordered jugs and jugs of beer at $18 per jug. Not too bad after all. It was pretty relaxing to just sit and relax with a bunch of friends after a long day at work. Patrick suggested that we play some games or else most of us will doze off on that comfortable sofa and cozy environment.

We started to play card games… the game was like ‘Heart-Attack’ or some may know it as ‘Snap’ but was played slightly differently. Anyway, the game got all of us excited and some of us even got injured by just playing that game. Hahahahahaahah… funny and violent you might think but we were having loads of fun despite the pain.

Philip counting the dices..

Jessie very serious about learning how to play the dice game

Well, the game went like this; using the deck of poker cards, having all the cards involved (even Jokers). The ‘banker’ will flip the cards as he counts, from 1-13 and we have to snap the card if it’s either lower or higher than the card on the table. For example, the banker opens the 1st card which is 2 of spade, we will have to snap it coz’ he said ‘one’ but the card is 2 of spade. It’s is higher than ‘one’. The rule here is you can’t snap the number that he announced. Complicated it may sound but it sure fun! If you plan to play, make sure you have your fingernails CHOPPED or wear gloves.

Though the night ended early for some of us, we sure had a great time playing both dice & card games. I am sure we’ll be planning for our next outing very soon.

Ramen Lunch

We were once again invited to lunch with our boss Minowa-san today. As he was traveling to Macau later this afternoon, we had an early lunch instead.

Initially we planned to lunch at St. Regis but as he did not have much time due to his business trip, we settled lunch at Robertson Quay instead. As usual, he is a fan of Ramen and he heard about this Ramen shop but have never tried it coz’ there were different reviews of that shop.

Well, we were caught by surprised when we arrived as it was pretty crowded. We were quickly seated and what was interesting about the place was there were small fan on every out door table. The menu interest us even more when we browsed through and finally we ordered different soup based ramen.

I had the spicy pork bone, Linda had the sesame and garlic soup base and boss had the miso soup base ramen. Minowa-san also ordered their fried dumplings for testing… hahahaah… we did not have to wait long for our food to be served. It wasn’t huge but good enough to fill the stomach for lunch.

Mine was supposed to be spicy but it wasn’t spicy enough for my standard… hahahahah… the ramen was really good and simply loved the soup base though it was quite oily (with all those chili oil). Minowa-san enjoyed his but Linda said hers was alright coz’ it wasn’t quite her taste.

I would like to give thumps up to the gyoza man… it was simply delicious. Tasted like fried Xiao Long Bao… very very good.

The price is quite reasonable which the ramen cost about $11 per bowl. Try it…

Susan’s Surprised Birthday Celebration

Going to Alpha Course every Thursday evening is a usual thing for me but last evening it was special. I was on leave yesterday as I had planned to watch an important game between Man U & Chelsea; American Idol Results Show ‘Live’. It definitely was all worth in coz’ Man United won and so did David Cook… awesome morning!

Anyway, went to VivoCity to a cake for my buddy Susan as it was her birthday. We thought it would be nice to get her cake and have a small celebration during break time. Was unsure what cake to get her but after browsing through some websites, I have decided to get the cake from Secret Recipe. The cake that we bought was Chocolate Mud Cake.

Cake was already prepared for her just before their break-time and when she saw the cake, she appeared to be kind of surprise and happy at the same time. As usual, whenever there is an occasion, cameras are never a missed! Hahhaahahaah… we started taking pictures of the cake and of course the birthday girl.

Uncle Richard announced to everyone that it’s Susan’s birthday and started singing her birthday song. It was great. Now, it came to the part where everyone would love to have a piece of the tempting looking cake. It was indeed delicious and many came back for a second helping even-though we have other cakes (Pola Cakes) around. Kekekeekekekeke…..

Though it was a short celebration but the effort was all worth it coz’ she was happy. Not sure if there is another birthday next week… hahahaah…

Alpha Holy Spirit Weekend – Sunday

After the wonderful experience on Saturday, we are back for the Sunday session. It was early afternoon when I reached church after my Sunday mass. When I reached there, most of my friends have arrived.

I did a short recap with the music ministry and went to take loads of funny pictures before the actual event started. I was totally excited to find out if I will be touched by the Holy Spirit once again.

We started off with the opening song, prayers and then blessing of the bread & wine for the Agape Meal. Right after that, it was the breaking of the bread and passing on the wine. I got to tell you… the bread is simply delicious; it had some olive oil in it which made it tasty even on its own. Then the leaders of each group came forward to receive the light from the Easter Candle which signified Christ if our light.

After the talk by Nicky Gumbel, we started our main dish which was the ‘in filling of Holy Spirit’. While we sing, some guest came forward for the praying over and it was great to see non-Christians going forward too.

While we were singing, I noticed that Emily who was my co-singer suddenly sang quite loudly till the guest started looking at us like as if we needed their attention. It was not too long after that I felt a cold air at my feet and I turned around but there were no fan or any sort of air around. I turned to tell Emily that I was feeling cold air around my feet and she looked at me and smiled saying ‘that’s the Holy Spirit my dear’. She in returned asked me if she sang really loud a few minutes ago and I shyly told her ‘Yes’ and we laughed.

It was how strange the Holy Spirit works around different people. I was really glad to be touched once again coz’ it was definitely a great feeling and experience money can’t buy.

Praise to you God The Almighty!
