CNY Family Reunion Dinner

Exactly one more week will be CNY and today, we had our CNY family reunion dinner at my in-laws place. As Cantonese tradition, we usually prepare steamboat for dinner as everyone can sit around and cook the food together in one pot.

This year, my mother-in-law prepared dishes instead as the family grew quite a bit and we have a baby in the house. To avoid them getting scalded while running around or playing around the dining area, we thought a sit-down dinner is more preferable.
Hubby & I went to collect the Treasure Pot & Yusheng at Yan Court located at Chinatown. While waiting for hubby, I went to get wine and raw fish as the one from Yan Court was vegetarian.

After settling down the kids after their dinner, we prepared dinner for the adults. We started off with the Lo Hei of course and everyone including the kids was tossing the vegetables high up for good luck and good health for the year.
Surprisingly the Vegetarian Yusheng from Yan Court was pretty tasty though wasn’t my favourite. As for the treasure pot, it was delicious and pretty value for money compared to other restaurants. I trust that we will be ordering from them again next year for our reunion dinner. J

Buddies’ CNY Reunion Dinner

It’s a yearly affair that we will organize a CNY Reunion Dinner for our group. This year, with no exception, we had our dinner at Spring Court which is one of our favorite restaurants.
To celebrate this occasion, we pre-ordered the special menu and brought five bottles of wine to drink the night away. Our dishes were customized especially as we did not want to take up the CNY menu from the restaurant.

We were given a private room with karaoke and this is one of the best restaurants that have the best of both worlds – good food and karaoke in private room! What more can we asked for right!! We mentioned that we need to get everyone seated as early as possible so that we can all Lo Hei together.

This time, everyone was very punctual and we started our Lo Hei (my 2nd by the way) and it was way too fun to toss! As we tossed, we said all the good wishes and most of us wished that our current boss will be sent home soon… not sure if our wishes will come true… hahaahahah
All the dishes came marching out right after our Lo Hei and of course the entertainment also started at the same time. We can’t seem to sit and eat with the karaoke system in the room so, we put up many songs request and we started singing and even dancing! It was so much fun that our newbie Sumiyo was shocked to see the other side of us!!! She was well entertained and was really thrilled to see how wild and funny this group can be out of office!

Of course we were too entertained by Linda & Jessica as they joint hands to tear the suckling apart! Thanks to their effort and we were able to enjoy the meat of the suckling pig without having to pay extra to the restaurant for chopping it for us. Whahahaahahah…
Due to CNY period, the restaurant took quite a long time to serve our dessert and that somehow delayed our time to leave for home but it was all fun and we were totally over the moon! hahaahahaha

God Of Fortune

Wow…What a fantastic moment! We were greeted by the God of Fortune at our office after lunch today!

The sales manager of Crowne Plaza Hotel dropped by at our office to pass us their hotel ang pao envelopes but what surprised us was they brought along the God of Fortune too which made the atmosphere even more happening! Hahaahahaha
Most of my colleagues who came out to the reception was shocked and excited to see this auspicious icon before the CNY…

Mmmh… does this means I will have a wonderful and LUCKY year ahead? Let’s hope so yea… J

Mizuki’s 3rd Birthday Party

OMG!!! Mizuki will be turning the BIG THREE soon and we are honoured to be invited to join her birthday party at Eat, Play, Love Café.
They blocked half of the café for her birthday celebration which includes a painter and an art & craft area for the kids to let their creative minds & hands to the work. Faith was really shy at first when I told her that she can go join the kids at the art & craft table so I went to sit with her and started giving her ideas on what to create, she sat there getting herself busy ever-since. J
While she was busy with her art & craft, we took the opportunity to have some food prepared by the lovely couple. The food was nice and very friendly for kids indeed.
When it was time for the cake cutting ceremony, all the kids were excited and gathered around the table to catch a glimpse of the pretty cake. Faith was really happy to see the birthday cake themed My Little Pony and got excited too. We managed to do a little crowd control and it went well eventually. :0)
The cake tasted great and Faith enjoyed herself very much at the party that she said that she want to attend Mizuki’s party again next year… hahaahahahah

Happy Blessed Birthday Sweetheart! May God bless and protect you always.

My First Lo Hei

Thanks to the treat from the January birthday babes which officially flagged off my first Lo Hei for 2016. Yes, though it’s not even CNY but we will be having Yusheng as part of our lunch. J

Leng kindly ordered our luncheons from Paradise Inn and bought the Yusheng from Crystal Jade as our favourite from Soup Restaurant has not started selling yet. We placed the food at our usual dining room and we can’t wait to Lo Hei for the 1st time in 2016.
Well, I got to say that the Yusheng was somehow disappointed as the vegetables were really too rough and sauce were sweet and not too tasty. We are happy that we had delicious food from Paradise Inn to compensate the Yusheng.

My aim is to have at least 23 Lo Hei for 2016 and I do hope that I will complete this ‘mission’… since I started pretty early. Please count with me as I blog yea…

End Of Group Trip

24 hours passes so fast especially when you are having a great time. We came to Montigo yesterday and today, we will be heading home. L

We woke up early for our breakie so that we can have more time for our activities but we had enjoyed our breakfast so much that we forgotten the time. Finally, we were left with some time to do a little shopping at the shop within the resort.

I was glad that we were granted the late check out and I wasted no time to get myself ready to sunbathe. The view from the Sky Terrace was beautiful and I simply love it. It was quiet, super big space and no blockage for sunshine!! Perfect place for sunbathe but no pool by the side. J

After packing up, we went up to take some last minute pictures while waiting for our buggy to fetch us to the reception. This was the first time we didn’t mind waiting for almost half an hour as we were so not ready to leave the villa.
We arrived at the ferry terminal slightly early and we bought our goodies while waiting to board. On our way back to Sin, it was pouring outside while we were laughing our lungs out inside. We tried out many different videos using apps and man… it turned out to be such hilarious videos!
Wonderful trip indeed and I do look forward to the next if given another opportunity. J

Eat, Play Sleep Trip

We have been talking about having a trip together couple of years back and finally, we managed to firm up last October and today, it’s really happening! The group is heading to Batam!! Woohoo!!!

We took the late morning ferry since our check in time for the hotel is 3pm. We gathered at the ferry terminal early initially to have breakfast but we were so excited that we somehow forgotten about it and we went straight for boarding right after our photo session. At the boarding area, we had some snacks while waiting for board.

When this group gets together, we can’t seem to stop laughing, having fun even on board the ferry. Though it was a short 30 minutes ferry from Singapore to Batam, it seemed like only 10 minutes as we had so much fun. J
When we arrived at Montigo Resorts, our villas are not ready so, we headed down for our massage and some went for lunch while waiting. I took the Thai massage and it was sooooooooo GOOD!!! My tired body was feeling great after the 90 minutes massage. I wish the massage could last for hours but guess that’s not possible!

After checking into our villas, we did not waste anytime but started our activities. We rested and unpacked our snacks and got changed into our swim wear and headed for the pool. It was great to have our own pool where we can have a deep anytime of the day.

We prepared the Spicy Korean challenge and it went very well. A-Hem… I am happy to announce that I am the winner for the challenge. J This cup noodle is not as spicy as the packed ones I tried at home but it sure is spicy enough if you have added chili padi to it…

For dinner, we went to have seafood at their in-house restaurant and taking this opportunity, we arranged a birthday cake to celebrate our buddies’ birthday. Both Vivian & Hairon are celebrates their birthday in January and it was great timing to hold such a small celebration.
After dinner, we headed back to our villa and chill the night away. We chatted, masked and snacks…yes… that’s what we do when we get together.

Welcome Back Get-Together Party

It’s a brand new year and the first day of work once again… my day begins with a good morning walk with little lady Faith to school and I am thankful that the day wasn’t as hot as I expected. With that, I trust that I will have a good day today! Woohoo!!!

When I arrived at office, I was happy to greet my fellow friends and colleagues and bosses too. I was happy to exchange warm New Year greetings and wishes for each other… so far so good. Usually, it’s pretty much slack on the 1st day of work but I was somehow unusually busy… L anyway, it will be a short working day as we were looking forward to the party later this evening.

Yearly, we organized the welcome back get-together party at our office but in recent years, our colleagues and subsidiaries grew by the numbers and our little office is unable to host everyone. This year, we had it done at the foot of our office building where we rented the space for the party.

It was convenient for everyone to gather and most importantly, we were able to walk about freely to mingle with the other staff from our subsidiaries. I am glad to meet some of our friends from subsidiaries as we usually get to meet during D&D.

Everyone had a great time enjoying the food, the drinks we provided and as well as the conversation with each other. Thumps up!
Cheers to 2016!

An Evening At USS

Maggie found a great promotion for USS online and we decided to purchase the tickets to spend time with the kiddos; at the same, a bonding session with the kiddos’ God-ma.

We headed down to USS on a cool Saturday evening as our tickets only allowed us to enter from 5pm. This is somehow a year end special promotion and it was pretty value for money for the family compared to their normal entrance fees.

With this special promotion, we expected a huge crowd but surprisingly we did not waited long for some of the rides. We too managed to catch the Sesame Street stage performance and it was very entertaining indeed for both adults and kids – even little Emi was enjoying the show.
Faith was extremely happy that her God-ma Susan was taking some of the rides with her and she managed to overcome her fear for the Transformers rides which somehow scares her at the beginning.

There were many good ‘live’ shows performances in the theme park and we managed to catch 2 of them which were really good. Though we did not managed to catch the fireworks that night but it was certainly a great outing for the kids.
Though it was merely a few hours of thrill for the kids, it was tiring but was totally worth the money. Our kiddos had a lot of fun and we are sure that we will be back again soon. J

Happy 2016!

Happy 2016!!! Time flies so fast that it’s another brand new year! I wish I could stop the clock for just a little while so that we can enjoy more time with our family and kids.

Being the first day of 2016 and a public holiday, we arranged to have lunch with our parents at Spring Court. Yes, you should know by now that Spring Court is one of our favorite restaurants as I have mentioned it in my blog so many times.

It was crowded as usual but we managed to get a seat though without any reservations. We ordered the usual dim sums and porridge for our little Emi who enjoyed it so much that she had almost half the bowl while her older sister enjoyed her prawn dumplings.

Though it’s a challenge to dine out with a very young child but I would prefer to see them at this tender age as they are really growing up too fast!
Happy New Year everyone!
