Back To Perth

After a few exciting days down South, we are heading back to Perth today. On our way back to Perth, we stopped over at the Busselton Jetty for a short while and we managed to get on the train ride to explore the longest jetty.

Though we did not managed to catch dolphins but the train ride was a great freezing experience. It may be sunny but the wind was somehow killing us softly…
Half way through our drive, we stopped by at the Farmer’s Market again to stock up our grocery shopping before heading back to Perth. We simply love this market as you are able to get anything and everything you need to whip up a good meal at a super reasonable price.
Our time today spent mostly on driving back from Dunsborough to Perth and to grocery shopping. When we arrived home, our elderly chefs wasted no time and started preparing dinner while hubby & I went out to the nearby shopping mall to get a cake for celebration.

We had home-cooked chicken rice today and it was simply fantastic! Everyone had a great dinner and everything was wiped out… even Lady Faith had 3 bowls of chicken rice!
We had a surprise birthday celebrations for our two cutie December babies. They were thrilled and happy to see a birthday cake on the living room table though with no pressies prepared. The cake was surprisingly delicious and though the cake wasn’t as cheap as those back home.
Everyone had an early night after some laundry done and prepare for another exciting day tomorrow.

Another Day Of Adventure

Weather was pretty hot today as we headed back to Margaret River region once again since it’s about 45 minutes’ drive from we were. There is quite an exciting plan ahead of us today as we will be visiting some places which are not for usual tourist… that’s what I called an ADVENTURE.

Our first stop this morning was visitation to the Sunflower Farm which is one of the most popular farms in Perth and Margaret River region. It was pretty much like a mini children zoo where kids were able to buy animal food for feeding. We bought them in buckets and the excited kiddos started to feed the hungry goats, birds, ponies and even the wild pigs! Honestly, we are not sure if the animals were overfed… hahaahahahah
As our plan for the day was pretty tied, we headed down to have early lunch or brunch before our long drive to the forest. J Prevelly is such a lovely place! While waiting for the café to be ready for lunch, we headed to the nearby beach for a stroll while the kids & elderly had fun on the swings which reminded them of their younger days.
We stopped by for our brunch at Sea Garden and we simply love this café which served up fantastic food with a breath-taking view! Lady Faith enjoyed her fish & chips which she managed to clear the plates on her own! We gave the food two thumps up and the price was much cheaper compared to the luncheon we had at Margaret River yesterday.

It was such an exciting drive through the Karri Forest where you get to see many different types of trees. It felt like a fairy-tale as you drive deeper into the forest. It somehow gave us a scare as we can’t seem to find our way out from the ‘highest viewpoint’. At the viewing point, the view was breath-taking indeed and you will not get to see anything like this back home. I am truly glad that we made it to this place though it was not easy to track. We tried to remember the route but somehow it took us about 20 minutes before we managed to get out of the forest.
Before heading back for dinner, we stopped by at The Margaret River Dairy Company where we bought some cheese, yoghurt and ice-cream as our dessert later tonight. It was amazingly cheap and I wished I could have them aired back to Singapore.
We found a visitor at our garden area when we arrived home. The cutie kangaroo was chilling out on its own and when we approached it, it stood up and looked like it was greeting us and slowly it hoped away! This would be the closest encounter with a wild kangaroo so far.

Tonight’s dinner was prepared by the ladies! We joined hands to whip up a good Italian feast with pasta, pizza and roast chicken (bought from the supermarket). We also had the stir-fried mushroom and vegetables as our sides and it was a total sell-out! Woohoo!!!
We ended the day with our desserts bought from the diary company and the yoghurt was so delicious and smooth! THUMPS UP!!!!

Day Trip To Margaret River

We set off early this morning after our quick breakfast and our first stop for the day was to Canal Rock. It was about half hour drive from where we were and when we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful sight.
It is soooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!!! This place is very popular among the locals who prefer to get a shallow dip or sit by the rocks to enjoy the breeze and view. To us, it’s simply a beautiful sight!!!

We continued our journey to Margaret River and stopped over at The Chocolate Factory which is famous for their chocolates. The kids went crazy over the chocolate tasting area and they almost finished all the chocolates in the bowl. Lady Faith started hand-picked the chocolates for her friends and teachers as souvenirs from Australia. Initially, she wanted to get individually chocolates for all her friends and teachers but that will end up too costly so, we decided to get different flavours in bigger bars instead. J
After checking out the shops in Margaret River Region, we headed to Swings Taphouse & Kitchen for our luncheon. We ordered some pretty good dishes like pizza, salads, pastas etc. to share. The food was not fantastic unfortunately and yet quite costly for simply meals. I guess we can get better quality food back home.

The Margaret River Region is basically a very small town with pretty interesting shops nearby and though we would like to explore more but we had to head back to Yallingup for our horse riding appointments.

We were on time for our horse riding and after a short briefing from the ‘cowgirls’, we rode onto our horses and off we go! We chose the ride to the forest and man… it was simply an extra-ordinary experience indeed. Lady Faith was able to control her pony and she looked really confident and comfortable on her pony. The one hour horse right through the forest was so fun and eye-opening that it felt like only 10 minutes instead. We wished we could have a longer ride to explore more…. mmmh… perhaps the next time.
We are truly blessed to have Chef Mike with us as he was the one who made us dinner while we headed for our forest adventure.

Thank you Mike & Stella for whipping up a good dinner and looking after our little Emma while we were out… J

Heading Down South

We woke up early this morning and set off right after breakfast. We headed down to Mike’s place as our meeting point and drove off down South excitedly in 4 cars. J It’s one of the most exciting road trips overseas…

It was a long drive from Perth to South and we stopped over at the Farmer’s market to get some fresh food before continuing our journey to Dunsborough. After about three and the half hours of drive, we have finally arrived at this beautiful house.
We did not waste time at all and we unpacked all our food and started to prepare dinner. Chef Mike was busy starting up fire for the BBQ pit while the ladies prepared the food. The kids were playing outside and everyone was happy. While waiting for the food and fire to be ready, we took the opportunity to snap some pictures and keeping the kids entertained.

This is such a beautiful place and the weather was just perfect for BBQ dinner. Our Chef Mike did not stop cooking dinner for us while hub serving wine and juices. The wives were busy with the kids and the elderly happily enjoying their dinner outdoor. J This is such a picture perfect scene for a family holiday overseas!
After dinner, we continued to sit around and chatted. It was such a great time catching up with pals and also firming up some plans for the next day. The kids were not left alone but were very well-entertained by Maggie with many handicrafts prepared for them.

It was another tired day due to long drives. We will be looking forward to exploring the South tomorrow.

Our Australia Adventure Begins….

This is a long awaited holiday with the family and we are all excited about it. Our family will be heading down under this time and we are looking forward to meet Mike & family too.

My own family visited Perth in March and we simply enjoyed ourselves and recommended to our family and we are on our way!!! Wooohoo!!!

We set off to the airport to meet the rest of the family early for a quick breakfast. The morning was never the same as the kids were wide awake and energized! They were all excited to get on board the plane and here our Australia Adventure began…
We arrived on time and hubs went to collect the cars while the wives purchased the SIM cards so that we can get in touch during our trip. Sheryl had to be sent to another area for car collection as she took up a different car rental company while ours were collected at the airport.
It was an hour of drive from the airport to our home for the next 1 week and everyone was blown away on how beautiful & huge the house was. Thanks to our friend Mike’s recommendation indeed and it was perfectly convenient area too.

After freshen up ourselves and unpacked some stuff, we headed down to Mike’s place for dinner. We were greeted with a SUPER WIDE spread of food prepared by Chef Mike. When we saw the spread, we thought it was catered…. It was that good! He single handedly whipped up a fantastic restaurant buffet style dinner for all of us and everyone was impressed.
After dinner, a few of us headed out for groceries shopping so that we can prepare some simple breakfast tomorrow before setting off to South. The supermarket near their place was pretty cool as it was similar to our Seng Siong back home.

Everyone was tired after a long day and we are all excited about our drive down South tomorrow. Woohoo!!!

Primary One Orientation

This is SOOOOOOOOOO UNREAL to me!!! P1 orientation??? OMG!!!! This is really happening!!! Yes, I am still in a denial stage as I can’t seem to accept that our lady Faith will be heading to P1 in January 2017! *Shock*

We were guided to the school hall for the orientation while she had to line up according to her class. She was all ready and can’t wait to check out her classmates, form teacher and classroom. We, as parents were just as excited as her but we had to keep our cool.

It started off with school Principle speech and introductions and then with a talk on how to grow and learn with our daughter. It was very much fruitful talk to us and we somehow learnt quite a bit from it. I truly agreed that many of us only show concerns on their academics instead of their wellbeing at school. After the talk, I trust that we should have both balanced up as that will give our child unnecessary added stress.
After the talk, we were asked to check out the school canteen and that was pretty much chaotic… coz’ so many kids and it was overpowered by parents. Hahahaahahah…. Many parents went forward to tell our child how to buy food, what to get and where to sit thereafter which somehow made the whole situation even messier than it already had… kekekeekekekek… for us, we stood aside to check her out on how she would behave and if she can handle it by herself. Mmmh… through our observation, she is NOT ready…. Hahahaahah

While the kids went for some program organized by the school, the parents had the chance to meet their form teachers. We were led to a classroom and the short session / introduction by the form teacher was pretty good. With this session, it somehow boosts our confident that our child will is well-taken care off in school and there is nothing to worry about.

 Thumps UP!

Emma’s 2nd Birthday Party @ Marche 313

Everyone loves Marche and that includes my family. This family friend restaurant has somehow become one of our favourite venues for our kids’ birthday party. The food and the service were perfect.

You must be wondering that isn’t Emma’s birthday in December? Hahahaha…. Yes, it is but we will be heading to Australia for a family holiday end of this month and will not have time to organize the party when we returned. *winks*

Our guest arrived on time and we started the simple party lunch at a reserved area which was near the kids’ playground. Our guests were given the card for to buy their food freely and some even ordered the food to share with everyone.
While the kids were having a great time at the play area, the adults had some peace to take lunch and had a little catch up time with friends. Emma, the birthday girl was pretty shy but managed to cheer up the moment she saw her birthday cake served in front of her.
Everyone gathered at the little table to sing her a birthday song and she was all smiles with the cake toppers. This time, we ordered the cake from Marche and brought our own cake toppers for simple decoration. The pastry chef was so kind to have our cake decorated so beautifully that some of the patrons from Marche asked if they can purchase the cake… hahaahahahahaha

The party was simply successful organized with the assistance of the staff at Marche. We truly thank everyone for coming for this simple celebration for our little one and we thank you for your wonderful and lovely gifts. J God bless!

Zumba Time

Usually we have about 5 of us joining the Zumba class organized by our building management but today, it was only 3 of us.

The weather is not too good for outdoor exercise and we are moved to the indoor ‘abandon office space’ (hahaahahaha) for our workout instead. I do enjoy the indoor workout as we have air-conditioned switched on and more privacy but of course… nothing beats natural wind!
Zumba lesson today was pretty much alright except for some songs which we did not really enjoy. J

Happy 23rd Month

OMG!!! My baby girl Emma will be turning TWO next month and I am totally not ready for that! I have been busy preparing door gifts for her advance birthday party in 2 weeks’ time and I can’t believe that the party is always drawing near…
Happy 23rd Month Baby Girl…

Rise & Swim

Time passes extremely fast when you are on holiday…Sighz…

After our breakfast, our kiddos requested for one last dip before heading back to Singapore. Their wish was granted as we had time and hotel was generous to give us late check out. The kids were enjoying themselves in the pool though given only about 2 hours of swim time.
Little Emma was extremely happy to be back in the pool once again with her sister and this time, she started to swim on her own with the floats. I was really happy to see them enjoying themselves and I am pretty sure we will be back to this beautiful resort soon.

After our quick lunch, we check out and headed back home…
