Starhub TVB Awards

I was really honored to be invited to this event by my boss who was invited by one of the staff from Starhub! I was really thrilled to receive an email invitation from my boss Suganou-san asking if anyone of us (our Dept) would like to attend this event with him. I RSVP to him immediately without checking my own schedule!

This morning, I was really excited and was counting down the moment I stepped into the office. After lunch, my heart couldn’t stop beating and the thought of meeting my favorite Raymond Lam was unbearable!

Coming evening, I quickly got myself ready and I had to look my best! Hahaahahah…. Like as if I am going on a date with him!!! Anyway, when we arrived at Ritz-Carlton, we were led by Mr. Ong who invited us to the reception for registration. We were given a golden tag which tied around our wrist… later did I found out that we are considered premium guest! How cool was that!

It was painful waiting for the stars to appear on the ‘Green Carpet’ and after an hour, the moment had finally arrived. The first couple to walk down the green carpet was Moses Chan & Charmaine Sheh. Steven Chen and Heidi were next etc…. and finally my heart was beating extremely fast when Raymond Lam walked down slowly on the green carpet! My goodness… I almost fainted as I got to see him so up closed!

Right after the green carpet… we were led to our dinner table in the main ballroom. Our table was pretty close to the stage and I was really happy that I could see my idol from where I was seated!

During dinner, there were performances by the Hong Kong artistes and many awards were given out… sorry… I was too engrossed looking at Raymond till I forgot what awards were given out!!!

Thank you Starhub and Suganou-san!

Friends Dinner Gathering

Linda kindly organized a friends’ dinner gathering at ‘Xiang Xiang’ located at Boon Keng. We stormed off to Boon Keng right at the struck of 5:45pm!

We took a bus to Boon Keng as it was really convenient and when we arrived, Linda being so herself… gone to check out the CNY goodies at the bakery… indeed, there were many different types of CNY goodies displayed outside the bakery shop.

As it was still early for dinner, we went to have some snacks at the nearby Dou Hua shop. Not long after, mummy Florence arrived and after finishing up the soya bean drink, we crossed over to the eating house for dinner.

As usual, Linda will be the main person who will take care of ordering of dishes for us… she is our FOOD DIRECTOR! Cool stuff eh… Yes, there were plenty of food on our table and we had about 8 dishes in total if I recalled correctly! Everyone was digging in slow and enjoying the delicious taste of every dish. YUMMY!

Can’t wait for our next dinner gathering!!

SACian Reunion At Bold

Marion organized a SACians reunion at Bold and I was happy to drop by before heading to dine with hubby. We arrived early to prepare the door gifts for the guest and I was glad to see some juniors though I may not know them very well.

Soon after, more familiar faces arrived and some are my classmates. I thought the reunion was good coz’ it was great to meet up old friends after a long time. I was surprised when some actually remembered you after so long!

It was a pity that I had to leave early but somehow I was happy to meet some of my old friends…

Happy New Year WORLD!

Today is the last day of our holiday in Hong Kong and returning to Singapore tomorrow. We are totally so NOT looking forward to be home but guess every happy moment got to end so that the next adventure begins.

After breakfast at Conrad which was really good, we went for our last minute shopping at Causeway Bay and Wan Chai. Yes, managed to get my boots and clothes for the little one. Though there were more things to buy on my mind but I had to resist coz’ we were heading to a play.

We bought the tickets two days before the play as we saw the high recommendation and reviews about the play ‘Micro Sex Office’. When we arrived at the theatre, the lobby area was not as glamorous as our Esplanade but you may compare it with our back then Kallang Theatre. It was a local production (something like our home-made Dim Sum Dollies’). The play was about Sex and sex harassment occurred in the office. The play was in Cantonese and it was really hilarious; totally something new to us.

After a two and half hour play, we decided to have an early dinner since we skipped our lunch due to late breakfast. We decided to have steamboat once again at Dou Heung Wan Chai which was not too far from the theatre.

We were the first few customers at the restaurant as it was pretty early for dinner (around 6pm) in Hong Kong. As usual, we ordered our favorite dishes and it was indeed a delicious & enjoyable dinner. I will definitely miss the food when I am back to SIN.

This trip, I thought I will miss tasting my favorite egg tarts but on our way to the train station, we passed by the shop we wanted to have our tea yesterday. Honolulu CafĂ© is one of the recommended places for afternoon tea and their famous food would be the egg tarts and Po Lo Bao. Since we were still full after the steamboat dinner, we decided to buy some for our supper… hey… it was really tasty man… in fact, they are on par with Tai Cheong’s egg tarts…Yes, it’s that GOOD!
