Farewell & Welcome GM Party @ Wine Universe

We have seen through the generations of GMs in our office and we all had good and horrible experiences with them. In my opinion, Hirata-san, Oka-san, Iwasawa-san & Yasuno-san were one of the BEST GMs in our branch.

They were good in a way that they had listened to the voices of local staff, making an effort to talk or blend in with local staff. They treated staff nicely and humanly…. I truly appreciate and am honored to have worked with them.

As years passed so quickly, we are here today to bid farewell to our current GM Takahashi and during his tenure as our GM, I do not have much to say as honestly, he wasn’t that popular….hahahaahah….. You know what I mean….

We planned a party for both new and old GM to bid farewell and welcome our new GM Yamano at Wine Universe which is located at Millenia Walk. We had decided on this venue to attract more staff to attend… YES… you did not hear me WRONG… if this venue were to be far away from our office, the attendance will be pretty much sour…

At first sight, our GM Yamano was pretty much a warm, shy and approachable guy and we do hope we got it RIGHT. All we asked of a good GM would be someone who is fair, justice and a person who make an effort to build our working environment a friendlier and easier place to work in. We hope he fits these criteria.
Party was great as usual when you hang out with your own bunch of crazy friends and as usual, we are in the world of our own not boring who and what was happening. During the party, there are no such things as Boss Vs Staff. Everyone is equal and having fun in a public place where all are free to speak, to drink and to have fun.

Honestly, I enjoyed the party not because it’s a farewell or welcome party but it’s the company of my bunch of friends in the office. Cheers to FRIENDSHIP!

Farewell Dinner For Boss

Bosses come and go and it’s normal in our office but somehow, I am having mixed feelings this time as I am really going to miss my boss….

This boss of mine is considered one of the best bosses I have worked with and he will be returning to Japan for his new assignment at the end of this month. We have planned a farewell dinner for him and I was happy to get both Florence and Sharlini to join us.

Linda, Yoyo & I arrived early at Limoncello located at Robertson Riverside and it was quite a beautiful environment to dine. It was quiet, and I love the ambience. We browsed through the menu so that we can plan what to order when all are seated. Yatomi-san arrived on time though he was engaged with a meeting earlier and he was happy that we arranged this dinner for him.

He was filled with surprised when he saw Sharlini & Florence arriving to join our table. It was like a family dinner and we ordered their signature dishes to share. I would say that their food was pretty delicate and classy. It was very delicious and to me, my favourite dish would be the squid inked pasta. It was so YUMMY that it was wiped out within minutes. J

The rest of the dishes were yummy too and the pizza was crispy on the crust and cheesy on the top. Superb!! We had so much fun chatting and laughing over dinner which made it memorable for our boss.
Thank you, Boss for your encouragement & support during your tenure with us and we are going to miss you very much.

Hi-5!

Lady Faith used to be a Number ONE fan of Hi-5 when she is little and now, so is little Emi. She has been watching the series since she was exposed to TV at the tender age of 1 year old. At that time, our lady Faith was still a fan but today, she has outgrown that series.

We found out that the Hi-5 cast are in town and we decided to bring little Emi to watch the show since she requested to see ‘Bi-Por’ so much. Well, her ‘Bi-Por’ is the robot from the series and she found her very funny!

When we arrived at City Square Mall on a weekday afternoon, we were surprised that there was a huge crowd already occupying the space provided infront of the stage. We too decided to get a sit to too since it was 45 minutes to the show. It was pretty hard to keep both of them still as there wasn’t much we can do but to sit and wait….

Emma was super excited to see some of the crew came to prepare the props for the show and she shouted to me saying “Mummy, look, it’s CHATS” with a huge smile on her face. That was priceless and it’s such a joy to them being happy.
The show started with their popular songs and all the kids in the house were dancing on her feet singing along with the cast. It was such great fun to see all the kids enjoying themselves and I do wish that I can spend such carefree life… hahahaahah…

It was indeed a wonderful 30 minutes show and our two kiddos had a ball of a time. Little Emma was thrilled and she went on telling me how much she enjoyed the show and she was so happy that she saw ‘Bi-Por’… hahahaahahaha

A Day @ The Singapore Zoo

It’s our Lady Faith’s 1st school holiday as a P1 kid and as parents, we are somehow lost not knowing what to do since we are not planning to travel out of Singapore.

Since it’s a week long holiday for our child and we know we had to plan something for them. After browsing through the web for holiday fun and we finally decided to bring them to the Zoo. Though it may sounds pretty boring for some but I think it’s a pretty good outing for the family.

We set off early to the zoo on a weekday morning and thankfully it wasn’t as crowded as I had expected. It was certainly a hot day and the wind is nowhere in sight too… HOT HOT HOT!!!! As we walked through the zoo, we saw many different types of animals and we tried to teach them along the way.
There was a new section created and it was the Dinosaurs Park. Similar to Dream World which we visited in Australia and at that time, Faith was really frightened. We tried to talk through this dinosaur park and both kiddos were scared but wasn’t as bad though.
The kiddos were thrilled to see animals like the lions, otters, hippos, polar bears and we managed to catch the elephant show. It was indeed something interesting and educational for the kiddos at the zoo as they managed to learn a few things about animals.

After our quick lunch at KFC, we continued our walk and managed to witness the white tigers feeding session which excites the kids. They were asking what the tigers were fed on, if they can swim and why were their foods being thrown to them….. hahahahaahah…

The sun is not getting friendlier when it was past 1pm and realized that the kiddos were tired and we decided to call it a day for the outing. J I guess we will visit the zoo again but perhaps to the Night Safari. J

Family Dinner Gathering @ Uncle’s Place

Cousin BG kindly arranged dinner gathering at our uncle’s place and we were really blessed to have her whipped up some good dishes for the night.

Cooking has been one of her favourite hobby in recent years and I would say that she has improved her skill tremendously overtime. J Thumps Up Jie! She prepared us chicken soup with sea treasures, spinach with garlic, Thai salad, steamed fish Cantonese style, stirred fried vegetables and vegetables with wolfberries. Rosanna, our uncles’ helper also contributed her signature dishes like the fried wanton HK Style and the beef rendang where were very YUMMY!!!
The kids were enjoying the food as much as the adults and it’s a wonderful time for everyone to catch up (as usually we will get to meet during CNY). After dinner, we chatted over coffee and some nice desserts brought by my cousin Yong who went to India recently for business trip and our local beancurd. J

Happy times passed so fast and our evening at our uncle’s place came to a close and we headed back to home. I do hope to have such gathering again soon.
