Singapore Extreme Championship 2009

I was asked to join my friend Andy and his friends to watch the Singapore X-treme game which was held at our very own Skate Park located at East Coast Park. I was excited coz’ I was waiting to meet some friends whom I have not met for more than a decade!

When we arrived at the skate park around noon, it was already pretty crowded as our PM Lee was there to grace the game early that morning. The weather was good but it was EXTREME HOT though we are watching extreme Sports! Hahahaahahah…

Anyway, I was really thrilled to see Roshan again after like 18 years! My goodness… time really flies like a rocket! He still looked the same but much better as he has more meat now… hahahaha…

For the first time Singapore Extreme Championship 2009, a two-day competition that will be held in Singapore and broadcasted via ESPN TV network. Many top athletes among the extreme sports fraternity from the region are invited to compete. Therefore, I was really excited to be there LIVE.

We gathered around the 4 meter bowl to watch the pros that did their demo. First up was Ryan Guettler (BMX, mulit-X Games medalist); he did some really cool moves like ‘free hands’, bike & him in the air and tapping his knee with one hand etc… dangerous but really stunning!

Trevor Ward (Skateboard, legendary skater) was next and though he failed at some stunts but somehow he redeemed himself with a bang.

My personal favorite would be Takeshi Yasutoko (Inline & 3 time’s world champion). At the age of 22 or 23, he is simply fantastic! He did many dangerous stunts effortlessly and man… there was a moment he actually flew higher than the golf umbrella!

By four in the afternoon, I was almost fried under the hot sun but thank God, they have tents with fans installed and free flow of 100 plus drinks! I was enjoying the BMX riders taking their heats and it was simply amazing what stunts they could do.

It was indeed an enjoyable HOT afternoon with friends and checking out these talented riders, skaters and skateboarders… Well done guys!

Luncheon With ‘Uncle’

We were invited to lunch with Miyazaki-san at Asia Grand today after his official departure last August. He was here on a private visit and was kind enough to invite us for a catching up lunch.

It was really nice to see him again as he was a nice boss to work for; someone who is very understanding and always there to help. In fact, he is pretty well-liked by most of our colleagues and customers.

Asia Grand was formerly located at Asia Hotel but this was my virgin visit. The dishes that mummy Florence ordered were delicious. We enjoyed spending the afternoon talking with him as he don’t visit SIN that often though he would love to.

Thank you Miyazaki-san for the enjoyable lunch and hope to catch up with you soon again.

A Day Shoot At Marina Barrage

I have heard pretty good feedback about the newly built Marina Barrage and finally, it’s my virgin visit today.

When I arrived there this morning, I was truly impressed by its structure and how nicely it was built. With no further delay, we started our photo-shoot right away. It was a total pity that both my darling Angie & Rie could not join us for a groupie shoot.

The place was really nice and huge but it’s definitely a nice venue for photo-shoot. It was a pity that we couldn’t shoot at the open field as the sun was too hot! I was really happy and thrilled by how beautifully the pictures turned out to be.

Anyway, I will definitely be back for a short tour around the barrage with family.

Thank you David and Bel for the fun session and my new found angle… hahhaha *muaks*

Ivy Junior & Kang Yong’s Wedding

We are honored to be invited to Ivy Junior & Kang Yong’s wedding. Some of us have been waiting for this day to come and Yes, finally!!

We arrived at Orchard Parade Hotel this evening and were alarmed that there were two weddings on the same ballroom level but of course, we went to the right one unlike mummy Florence who went to the wrong wedding initially… heheeheh…

We were seated beside the stage and the only setback was; we weren’t able to view her videos which were shown before her march in. Anyway, will probably get her to show us someday la… back to our table… while waiting for the rest to arrive, we took some pictures (for testing la…) while having fun, we were surprised to see Agnes with her new look as she went for makeover to attend the wedding… WOW lor! That sure looked good on her.

Before the couple marched in, the sword barriers came in and made their stand. They didn’t let the couple walked through smoothly. The first obstacle was to eat cheery with their lips only and the last obstacle was to carry the bride up to stage for the wedding cake cutting ceremony… wasn’t that difficult but still have to do la…

The dishes were pretty good I must say especially the roast chicken and the lotus leave rice. Sorry GG, you missed that… I enjoyed the vegetables with homemade toufu too.

Half way through dinner, the couple had their second march in again after changing into their new outfit. They were led to the stage for the champagne pouring and the Yum Seng! I was totally surprised to see the Yum Seng kakis to be wearing Bermudas instead of pants or jeans. Nope… this yum seng gang is damn funny lor… they were all in Berps… I got to say that this is the longest and loudest yum seng I have ever heard in any past weddings. Those guys really got the lungs man!!! mmmh… was that the reason why they are in berps… hahahahahaah

As the MC mentioned that there will not be any table photo-taking but we have our own cameras ready for that purpose. When the couple came to our table, we requested for a photo-session with them of course! Well, I spotted another table having photo-session but this time, one lady was kind of not so GLAM, and I witnessed her taking off her shoes for the photo-taking… I seriously wondered why on earth she did that for!

Before the dessert was served, we were served with junior’s wedding cake. We were surprised as usually it will turn out to be some fruit cakes but this cake was a delicious lychee cake! Man… it was a pity that we had only a small portion of it… hahahaah… last but not least, the mango sago with pomelo was great… it was so good that we all had a second serving…

Congratulations Ivy Junior and Ah Yong! May you guys be blessed with many years of happy marriage and have many beautiful children!!
