Dinner With The Crazy Bunch

We tried to meet up as often as we can but everyone is busy with their own stuff. It was really great to be able to gather to have a meal with friends that you love especially those whom you don’t get to meet every day.

We met at Sin Hoi Sai, a restaurant located conveniently at Tiong Bahru where it has been there for many years. I remembered that hubby then boyfriend used to bring me there for dinner as he knows that I like the dishes there. Those were the good old days where you can find cheap and good food without worrying that you will burn your pockets.

We ordered mostly our favourite dishes such as prawn rolls, fried baby squids, prawn paste chicken, claypot liver and hotplate black pepper beef. Man… those foods were considered our comfort food though now that we are very much GROWN UP, we should be more careful of what we are putting into our body.
After our delicious dinner, we went to have our desserts at one of our favourite joint. Rochor Beancurd located at Selegie Road. Those were the fond days where we used to buy soya bean milk after school or after our ECA. I would consider this soya bean milk to be the BEST in Singapore!
It was so much fun sitting at the small table drinking soya bean milk; chatting and laughing our lungs out over our plans to open a clinic for people who needs counselling & healing!!! Somehow funny ideas will be created each time we talked about something. Simply enjoyable evening with the buddies and I truly thank God for them.

Thank you Za for organizing this dinner gathering and can’t wait for the next one…. J

Lady Faith’s Birthday Celebration

Our Lady Faith will be turning SEVEN soon and this is considered a new chapter of her life. Yes, she has entered into the Primary School chapter… I am honestly still living in denial as I can’t get over that my once baby girl is now in Primary ONE!

We have celebrated her birthday in a closed door manner with just family and close friends invited to the party for the past 5 years of her birthday party excluding her BIG ONE which we kind of made it a bigger scale.

This year, turning Seven is a big digit and we decided to have a quiet birthday celebration with the family only. She was not told about her birthday celebration as we had made it clear to her there will not be any more big parties for her after her Sixth birthday.

We booked a table at Oscar’s which is one of our favourite restaurants for her birthday. We arrived at the restaurant and she did not suspect anything for there weren’t any decoration or the staff greeting her (we informed the staff that it was a surprise party) and as usual, she took her place and then started checking out the buffet spread.

Half way through dinner, we instructed the staff to bring out the complimentary cake they had prepared for us and her eyes lit up as the cake placed before her. She gave a big smile and asked “Mummy, did you order this cake for me?” and I nodded with confirmation.
We gathered everyone to sing her a birthday song led by the friendly restaurant staff and she was at all smiles. Though there were no decorations and gifts from family members as we told them that it was a normal family dinner gathering but Lady Faith was happy and enjoyed this arrangement.
We want to thank all the staff attended to us at Oscars today for their fantastic service as always.

Lady Faith’s Class Gets GOLD On Food Challenge

Lady Faith’s school CHIJOLN organized an inter-class food challenge which each classes has to work together in order to eat healthy food and no-wastage of food for a month.

There were teachers and parents volunteers around during their recess time to watch and score them by what types of food they are eating and if they really finish up.
I was really happy and proud of Lady Faith for her class came in First for the Primary One Level and got themselves a Gold Medal. She was so excited about her class achievement and told me that she did not waste food at all from the beginning and she had started to eat healthily in school.
Congratulations sweetheart and keep it up!

Welcome Dinner For Yamano GM

Our ADM department decided to have a welcome dinner gathering for our new Yamano GM who took his seat in our office from 1st April.

We brought him to the corner of Singapore where we feel that he will not visit with his guest or perhaps himself. House of Seafood was the place for our dinner as it was pretty much convenient for most of us to head home after dinner. J

As we arrived ahead of the dinner, we walked around to check out the place as I too haven’t been there for a long time. The place has changed quite a bit and more cafes and bars are newly opened. The seafood area was pretty much untouched.
As we entered the restaurant, we were assigned a big table but it wasn’t as big as we have expected. We have about 16 of us but the table seemed to be too small to fit us all. They tried to solve the issue but somehow it seemed like we solved it ourselves instead. The staffs were unprofessional, unapologetic of their mistakes, not efficient in solving the issue at all. I was very much disappointed with their services and guess I won’t be back there to dine-in.
The foods that we ordered were pretty good despite of their poor and unprofessional services given to us. During our dinner, there were flies everywhere and they were not prompt to do something to solve the issue. We requested for candles to be placed on our table to prevent the flies from sharing our food but it did not work too well due to candles were too small… sighz…

We chatted over dinner and found that he is quite a boring person in my opinion… haahahaha… he is not really someone who is fun to hang out with like Yasuno-san & Iwasawa-san (our previous GMs) as he is someone seemed to be more reserves. This is indeed a good session to get to know our GM better and we do hope that he will be a better leader than the previous one. J

Keeping our fingers crossed!

Rest & Relax At Batam

It was a spur of the moment when we suggested visiting Batam for massage and shopping during office hour and we ended up booking ourselves ferry tickets and massage appointments.

We confirmed the dates almost immediately and went online to book the massage and ferry tickets pretty quickly to avoid disappointment. J We were all excited about this virgin trip to Batam as a group and man… there were so many discussions and planning….

After meeting up with the girls who had their breakfast at Hans’, we headed to the ferry boarding area and bought some bread to munch in case we got hungry onboard. J
The boat ride was great fun as we were enjoying chatting and watching silly movies onboard while some doze off half way. I was mostly awake and pampering myself with snacks so that I will not feel nausea. J
When we arrived at Batam Centre after 55 minutes of ferry ride, we were quite upset that our driver from Spa Central was late to pick us up and that delayed our treatment and our plans. She finally turned up after about 20 minutes late and told us that there were road blockages due to riot.

Spa Central was about 15 minutes from Batam Centre and the spa was very cozy and clean. We started our treatments almost immediately as we were rushing for time to shop. The massage was great but I was disappointed that I did not get my cream bath this time due to time constrained.
We headed down to Nagoya Town shopping mall to do some shopping at the supermarket and then went crazy over the lapis. We bought so much that we did not even realized. After a very quick shopping, we went to have our early dinner at Golden Prawn 933 which is pretty popular among tourists. The seafood there was good and very cheap compared to the price in SIN.

We headed back to the Batam Center to catch our ferry back to Singapore and we simply had an enjoyable time with the girls and I am sure we will be back again!

Dinner With Ex-Bossy

Our wonderful and witty bossy returned to Singapore for business trip after he left at the end of March. He wrote to us and invited us to dinner with him. Though he will be in SIN for a couple of nights but he managed to squeeze his time out with us for dinner tonight.

We went to one of his favourite restaurant Old Chengdu located at Chinatown. He was happy to dine there as he missed those dishes after he left for Japan. We had a great time catching up with him and though it was merely a 2 hours dinner, it was all worth it.
Thank you Bossy and we miss you!
