Haze Is Back

The haze is back again and man… dun I just hate it! The smell, the cause of you tearing and eventually caused you to have sore eyes, sore throat and worst of all, you had to wear a mask when you’re outdoor!

When I stepped into the office this morning, I could barely see the landmarks and icons of Singapore! Got me more frustrated when the PSI is going up every hour! Sighz…
I clearly remembered that during my pregnancy with Emma, the haze was barely around! I am truly blessed with great weather throughout my pregnancy! Thank GOD!

Mid-Autumn Festival

I remembered when I was a child; I used to enjoy the moon-cake festival as we get to play with lanterns. Those were the good old kampong days when we had all the kiddos from our neighborhood to hold the lanterns and lighting up all the candles on the ground.

Having moved into HDB, I hardly see children playing lanterns during this festival. Most of the kids will be playing at the nearby playground with their own family or perhaps their neighbors staying on the same floor.

After our family dinner, we did the same too…. our kiddos had their lanterns lighted up and only able to walk around the floor due to the haze! I believed that if we are still living in those shop houses, it will be more exciting for them to enjoy this festival. Don’t you agree?
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone!

Homemade Egg Tarts

Those who know me well enough will know that I am a great fan of egg tarts. Yes… egg tarts are considered one of my most favourite desserts if you classify them as one.

I have been searching and reading through some of the easiest egg tarts recipes and finally decided to give it a short. I realized that the recipe is simple and not too difficult to follow except for the crust. Given the time to me today, I finally managed to bake some egg tarts for tea…

It took about 10 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to bake… it’s a quick and easy recipe to follow and though my crust is not as fantastic as Tong Heng’s but I thought it was good enough. I used cookie recipe to make the crust which is slightly different from the normal egg tart crust.
Faith seemed to enjoy the egg tarts that I baked and she had 2 pieces at one go. She told me that it was really tasty and requested to have it done in Chocolate flavor… hahahaahah…

Yoghurt In Trend

I heard so much about this yoghurt on FB and friends’ Instagram but never gotten the chance to try it till today.

Went to Suntec Link for luncheon and walked over to Marina Link Mall to get this Yoghurt. Surprised that there was no queue (though heard that it’s usually long queue).  Ordered the normal yoghurt with the advice from Jessica & Sam who has tasted it when it came to Singapore.

My comment for this yoghurt will be TASTY, VERY DELICIOUS!! Love the smooth texture and the taste of it though I would honestly preferred by Yami Yoghurt! For the price of this yoghurt, mmmh…. I would say it’s pretty expensive as a dessert.
Asked me if I would eat again, YES, I will but no hurry… hahaahah

Bonding Session With God-Ma @ Dora ‘Live’ Show

Faith was thrilled by the invitation to watch Dora show when I told her that God-ma has given us the free tickets a week ago. She was excited and counting down to the day of this event.

It was Polling Day and after casting our votes in the morning, we went out for lunch with the family and our little one was really excited and told us that she needed to sleep so that she can watch the show later this evening.

When evening came, she was all prepared and ready to go. Hubby sent us to RWS and went to run his errands. We arrived on time but God-ma was held up so we hang around the mall. Children being children, she couldn’t wait and kept asking if it’s time for the show and why is God-Ma not reaching yet… etc…

I saw her eyes lightened up when she saw her God-ma walking towards us and with soft voice, she thanked her God-ma for giving us the tickets to watch this show. Along-side with Susan’s other god-daughters, we watched the show together.
The seats were pretty comfortable and distance was not too bad. Got Faith a child booster seat and she was able to watch the show clearly from where we were. The show was pretty cool and to my surprise, very much interactive. They get the children up their seats and danced, singing together and getting the kiddos to raise the stars which were given at the theatre entrance.
The show lasted about 80 mins and though it seemed too short for the kids, I thought it was a good timing as almost half the show, I was on Candy Crush…. Hahaahahahah

Thanks God-ma for the tickets to this event!

Buddies’ Birthday Dinner

She is one of my beautiful close friend and we are happy that we are invited to celebrate her special day with her. She hosted the dinner at one of her favourite Korean Restaruant – Todamgol located at Tanjong Pagar.

I am really excited to try out this traditional Korean restaurant which she told us about and can’t wait to try their beef…

The restaurant was not filled when we arrived but the crowd gradually filled and at the early hour of 7:30pm, it was full housed. We were lucky to be given a corner seat where we can have our talk, laugh and eat happily. She took of the orders but of course, she ordered our favourite Korean steamboat with their noodles… Man… that was GREAT!!!
To me, the food was great but just one set back… they do not refill your Kimchi! Sighz… for all Kimchi lovers out there… do not expect your Kimchi to be refilled!!! Hahaahahaha…

After our sumptuous dinner, we went to chill at the waffles’ cafĂ© but as usual, I had to take my leave earlier. Though it was a short gathering but we certainly had a great time spending with each other.

Happy Blessed Birthday Tricia! May you stay beautifully and be blessed with a wonderful day!

Outing To Lee Kong Chian Natural Museum

This year, our company sponsored one of the section at the Lee Kong Chian Natural Museum located at NUS. As such, the company organized an outing for staff and their family to visit this museum.

When we arrived on this hazy late Saturday morning, there were many staff were already there checking out the entertainment corner for the children while some were busy chatting away with the family members.
After the late arrival of our GM, he gave a speech before the cheque presentation to the museum. We were then broken up into groups and went on to tour the museum with a guide. He was pretty much knowledgeable and was able to answer many of our quirky questions.

I personally like the museum as it housed many interesting remains like the dinosaurs, asteroids, animals, insects, shells and many other species. It was pretty much like the grave of the dead animals and plants.

Faith enjoyed herself and I am glad that she was happy to tour around the museum and with some simple questions asked. I really hope she actually absorb some knowledge of the stuff she saw here.

After the 1 hour tour, the staff gathered at the external area for our lunch. The place was pretty hot though it was sheltered. We however, managed to get some seats indoor otherwise; our kiddos will be screaming even if the lunch is super good.

To my disappointment, our GM & HR DH did not mingle with the staff but hide themselves away from the crowd enjoying their food. The rest of the staff were happy to mingle around and talked about the museum. I guess they have forgotten that this is a company event and shouldn’t this be the opportunity for them to get to know their staff better?

Anyways…. The outing was good and I guess we will be back again with the family when they had other new addition to their collections.

Worker’s Party Rally

As the government announced the date of GE 2015, all parties are ready for their rallies. I have missed the rallies by WP during the last GE and I wouldn’t want to miss this time.

I insisted that my hubby accompany me to the WP rally tonight as I want to experience it coz’ we have seen and heard so much about their rally. Finally, we found one that was held at the familiar places and we went ahead. The parking space was crazy but we managed to get a parking lot just at the foot of my mum’s flat.
When we arrived at the rally ground, I was really thrilled to see hundreds or perhaps thousands of supporters. Some brought their own mats, some were standing around and there were many sitting on the railings.
The atmosphere was kind of funny but yet united. Many held WP symbols like the hammer, flags and some umbrella where were sold at the side. Many will chant ‘WP, WP, WP’ each time after a good speech from the WP members. I was really happy to be in time to hear the speech from WP leader Mr. Low and the Sylvia Lim. Their speeches were really good and they pointed out many issues that most Singaporeans are facing.

What interest us most were the conversations by many uncles sitting on the railings chatting away on how they suffered under PAP rules... :)

After the rally, I was shocked to witness such a HUGE crowd on the ground while I was crossing the overhead bridge. It was totally overwhelmed!
GE is such a big topic in Singapore and hopefully WP will retain their seats in the Parliament.
