After Lunch Madness

Lunch was usual with buddies today at Suntec Food court where you can find the most people in Suntec area. It was crowded but we were lucky to get seats quickly.

After lunch, Rie & I followed Jessie to Toy R’US to get a birthday gift for his nephew (aka Rie’s kiddie boyfriend) hahhaahhaah… anyway, Rie & I suddenly turned into a child as soon as we entered the store. There were toys… of course but we actually went mad when we saw ‘EMLO’ toys were displayed right at the entrance.

It was almost immediate that Rie took out her phone and started taking photos. While we were busy taking photos, Jessie was searching high and low for the birthday gift. We were enjoying ourselves just by taking photos.

There was one particular spot where Rie found most of the Sesame Street characters and we started to take photos again and we were like kids… yes, we were enjoying especially when the store was really quiet… just simply perfect!

It was silly but it was certainly funny! ‘Tell me how to get to Sesame Street… how to get to Sesame Street…”

Security No More….

‘It’s hard to say Goodbye’, this is one phrase that we usually used whenever someone is leaving. There is never a young security guard in MC office until this young chap came along and stayed with us for 7 good months. Our very 1st young security guard, Aldo ended his 7 months service with us and made most of us kind of sad yesterday.
Sam & Aldo (gay partner???)

When this chap came for his 1st day of duty, we were wondering why a young security guard. He was immediately our talking point and everyone started to think if he is the right one for that post. As time went by, he became like our brother, son, a toy boy… hahahahaa... Yes, he was so well-liked by everyone especially the aunties in our office.

For me, it was kind of cool and honored to be called ‘mummy’ by him. Well, he called me ‘Mummy’ coz’ he finds me quite motherly! Well… actually, that kept me wondering though. Anyway, I looked forward to work everyday coz’ I know I will be greeted ‘good morning mummy’ or ‘hi mummy’ whenever I entered that door!

Though he may be a security guard and always sitting at the entrance, but somehow, he made tons of friendship during his service here. Everyone simply adored him. It’s always nice to have someone who is friendly, caring and protective towards his friends. Overall, very nice chap indeed.

Last Friday was his last day at MC and some of us have organized a farewell dinner with him. We dined at BICE, an Italian restaurant at Clarke Quay. The restaurant was chic and cozy but the lighting hor… too romantic for our noisy group.

Food was great though pretty costly but it was the company that we enjoyed and had fun. It was though a farewell but we were happy to him as he is taking a future steps to his career. There were jokes about the office, some secrets were shared and laughter in & outside of the restaurants. It was simply a blast.

After dinner, Rie & Yoshiko went for Miyagawa-san’s farewell drinking session. Initially, we went too but we decided to have coffee with Aldo when we were informed by Rie that we have to take off our shoes as they were in the tatami room. At the same time, Miyagawa-san was already tipsy and was dozing off.

Our warmest and bestest birthday greetings to little princess Chloe. May you always be blessed with happiness & good health. May the Lord send his angels to protect you from all harm and evil.

Oh... What A Night!!

We received the news from our boss Mr. Miyazaki about the visit of our President Kojima about 2 months ago and since then; we have been preparing it till last night. Almost everyone of us was involved in the preparation and some of us faced frustrations and irritation from our bosses at times.

Last evening, we were told to be seated at the ballroom of Conrad Hotel by 6:30pm to wait for our President’s arrival. Well, as usual, the VIPs are late and after the short speech from our GM and President Kojima, 2 of our local staff kicked off with the presentation. The presentations of our office and 8 other subsidiaries dragged on for 1 hour or so. Some of them were very short and good but some were short but bored!

Right after the presentation was over, everyone rushed for the buffet spread as we have to be seated and wait for our president to visit our table. My goodness, everyone was rushing and by the end of 1 hour or so, everyone was already bored with the food and the waiting.

Our table was the last table that President Kojima will visit and we were extremely bored by the wait. Some of us went for which ever round of the desserts and some went down to smoke. My group, as usual, will take the spare time to do silly things like laughing at others, taking pictures and joking with bosses…

When dinner finally ended around 11:15pm after a ‘family picture’ was taken, Angela, Rie, Linda and me went off to MOS. When we reached MOS, I was surprised to see a long queue outside and many were foreigners. As Rie is a member of MOS, she signed us in free.

The music was not fantastically great that night so we ended up at the Retro room instead. The music was pretty alright there but the air was bad. The room was too small to accommodate many and the air-con doesn’t seem to be working well. Despite the horrible air-condition, the crowded dance floor, we stayed there and dance the night away.

We finally got bored after a while and went on to other things… taking PICTURES. Yes, whenever Angie is around, we won’t leave anywhere without taking some photos. None of us drank that night but somehow we behaved like as if we were drunk! We simply did some silly poses and some yuppies who saw us doing that actually thought we were kinda of weird and funny. It was embarrassing but somehow we enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed the photo taking than the music there that night.

What a Night!

Pre-Birthday Lunch For Angie

It’s a HOT luncheon 2day I tell you… our chilipadi Angie suggested to have her birthday lunch celebration at Beppu Menkan Japanese Noodles Restaurant today. Well, though some of them are not into hot and spicy food, they went along too.

Bosses are not around today as they were busy entertaining the biggest BOSS, our President who is currently in Singapore for a ‘wonder why’ visit… hahhahaa… anyway, back to lunch, we sneaked out earlier for lunch so that we have more time to fight the ‘Spicy’ war…

Angie, Linda, Florence, Susan and me ordered our ramen with 4 chili grades; Julia ordered her usual ramen with 1 chili grade and Rie with 2 chili grades. Jessie, who can’t take spicy, actually had 2 chili grades today! It was certainly a brave move man.

When our ramen were served, we were all trying our best to finish that hot and spicy noodle. Those funny expressions on our faces… ultra red lips, running nose, sweating and watery eyes. It was indeed a hot & spicy lunch.

After a sweaty lunch, we went to Killiney to cool down the 'hotness' in us. Well, we had only 10 minutes but somehow we enjoyed our kopi & tea at our own pace... enjoy, enjoy and enjoy... sip... sip... sip...

Cheers to Angie!
