Happy Hour With Boss

A ‘Happy Hour’ will be best to end a long day’s work with great company, delicious food and a bottle of good wine. This is one of the rare Fridays that we could enjoy what is really called… “HAPPY HOUR”!!

This afternoon, we received a surprise invitation to enjoy happy hour with our boss and since it’s the last day of the week, I thought it will be great to chill out with boss and friends. We set off to Clarke Quay after office hour and we were able to enjoy the wonderful sunset with a glass of wine in hand.
As usual, we ordered some of our favourite food and snacks to enjoy the beautiful weather by the quay side. It’s been a long time since I sat and people watch… those were the days back at our tender age where we meet our friends and sat at cafés or clubs to people watch.

Though it was just a bare 3 hours of chilling out but it was enjoyable. That should be the way to end the week yea…

Faith’s First Test Paper

Our baby girl has been attending abacus class as one of her enrichment lessons and though she is not exactly interested in Math, she clearly took effort to complete all her homework and pay full attention during lessons.

She was tested on her abacus today and we were so happy with her results. Though she took it slow to count but at least she managed to get good results. We are so proud of her for her achievements and hope that she will continue to work hard.

July Babies’ Birthday Celebration

First of all, I would like to wish my mum a very Happy Blessed Birthday! May God continue to watch and protect you always!

We planned dinner for the July babies at Spring Court and we had a beautiful encounter during our evening drive. We spotted a beautiful almost full rainbow which is a rare scene to us and Faith was really delighted to witness it too.

The dinner at Spring Court started on time and as usual, the dishes we ordered were everyone’s favourite. We had to give thumps up to the staff who served us as they were very attentive and warm.

My mum and father-in-law are happy grandparents as our little addition Emma came is celebrating their birthday this year. She was all smiles when she saw her grandparents which melted their hearts.

Happy birthday Pa. May God bless and protect you always.

Fireworks Display At NDP Preview

I tried to ballot for the NDP tickets for both preview and actual day since it’s our 50th Birthday but to my disappointment, I was not chosen. L

However, we took the effort to bring the kiddos for a night-out on a Saturday night to view the beautiful fireworks at the Marina Bay area. We had our dinner at City Hall and took a slow walk towards Esplanade to get a closer look at the fireworks.
There were a few fireworks displayed during the NDP preview and at the stroke of Eight-Thirty, the night sky were lighted up with a huge ball of fireworks. Not only that the skies were lighted up, the buildings around the area were lighted up too.

Faith was on high spirits seeing the fireworks display while little Emma was somehow frozen at the noise. She did not cry but was kind of stunned.

I wish that I will be able to get tickets to the NDP to watch it LIVE in the near future.

SG50 Fun Pack

This year, Singapore will be celebrating its 50th Birthday. To celebrate SG50 Golden Jubilee together, all Singaporean and Permanent Resident home will receive an SG Funpack!

We have received the letter stating that our MP will be visiting our home to distribute the Funpack but somehow we did not see a trace of that. Since the collection center is just a block away from where we live, we went to self-collect it instead.

Faith was excited to get her hands on the goody bag and even more excited to see what’s in the bag. She loved the Merlion design compared to some of the neighbors who took designs like flowers, buildings etc…

Each bag includes items such as game packs, a national flags, a commemorative figurine of the Singa Lion, snacks, national flag tattoo etc…

Quay Side Luncheon

Our boss invited us to lunch once again today and this time, we headed to one of his favourite hangout. We have heard so much about this restaurant and I have seen so many receipts of his when I did his payment monthly and am happy that we are going to try it out ourselves.

When we arrived at SQUE, the concept of this restaurant is pretty cool, open kitchen and with both in and outdoor seats. We decided to sit indoor as the sun was so fierce though the outdoor would be a better view as it’s facing the Singapore River.

They served a variety of food and pricing is reasonable. Boss ordered the food as he knows best. We tried a few of his favourite dishes like the prawn paste chicken, salads, spicy sausages, calamari and pasta to share. I would say that the food was tasty with reasonable priced tags.

Boss also mentioned that we should visit again in the evening perhaps for Happy Hour to enjoy their super deal.

Our Little Cheeky Pie

Since the arrival of our little addition, I have been dragging myself to work every day. We are truly blessed with this little cheeky pie who smiles each time she wakes up and laughs so much when you play with her.

Whenever I am at work, I know that I am missing the time spending with her and it given a chance, I would rather spend more time with our children than facing some faces that are so ‘plastic’.

After a long day of work, I am always delighted to see this happy face who will greets me when I stepped into the house. Baby Emma, mama loves you so much!

Lunch With Hashimoto-San At Level 33

We are happy to welcome Hashimoto-san back to Singapore once again and this time, he is in a more comfortable position compared to the first time we met a few years ago.

They have set up a new office in Singapore and to build a closer relationship with us, he kindly invited us to lunch with them today. We chose Level 33 as we thought it will be a good and nice place to enjoy good food and good view.

We took their signature set lunch dory fish set and though I am never a fish fan but I thought this one was pretty good. Yes, it’s the normal fish and chips but the sauce was really nice and it complements the fish. I enjoyed their salad table as there were pretty good spread of salads, ham & cheese selections as well as the cold prawns and some sashimi.
The luncheon went well as we chatted about our previous boss and how he planted a deep memory on each of us.

Happy Hour With Boss

It’s a rare chance that we have a ROUND 2 with boss. He has wanted to try out the ‘Happy Hour’ at Number 9 Boulevard just at the food of our office building. After the great luncheon today, he continued to invite to enjoy happy hour with him this evening.

He gave us the green light to order any food that we like but limited to finger food only as he noticed that the portion were too much for dinner since we had a heavy luncheon. With that, I ordered the snack platter which was more worth it than ordering the individual snack items on the menu and a portion of the spicy sausages to share.
Boss browsed through the wine list and finally decided to order the ‘Over Stone’ white wine to start and it was indeed a good wine for happy hour. I thought the food was not too bad and portion was just nice for the 4 of us.

As for us to return for Happy Hour… perhaps not unless we have no other places to go… the price was pretty expensive (of course… it’s Millenia area) and service was fair only.

Great Luncheon

I guessed my boss has been craving for some good & quiet lunch place recently and he invited us to lunch with him today. Initially, we were planning for Bak Chor Mee but ended up at Wine Connection instead…

He mentioned that he has never tried lunch at Wine Connection and wanted to do an inspection so that he can bring his guest next time. We ordered some of our favourite dishes like the ham platter, masala prawns, pastas and salads to share since its lunch.

Though I very much preferred dinner at Wine Connection but lunch turned out to be pretty good too. It was quiet and I thought it was quite a good place for friends to gather if we are looking for a place where you can enjoy good food and reasonable wine at your own pace. Mmmh… perhaps that will be our hangout with friends instead of hi-tea at hotels… J

Outing to Gardens By The Bay

Baby girl’s school (Star Learners) has been organizing lots of outings and events since the takeover in April. I thought it was pretty good for the kiddos to have more exposure of what’s outside the school for we as parents may not have time to bring them out to such places.

She couldn’t recall that she has been to Gardens By The Bay when she was 2 years old. She kept asking me about the place though I told her that she has been there and perhaps she has forgotten. She was excited about it and she woke up so early just to get herself ready for the outing.

I am thankful to her form teacher and her classmate’s mum who took good care of her during their outing as I wasn’t able to join. I too am grateful that they took some great pictures for me as they know that I would love to have them.

When I picked her up from school this evening, she was joyfully telling me how pretty the garden was and how enjoyable was the trip. She explained to me what she has seen and her experience on the OCBC Skyway. She told me that she wasn’t afraid to walk on the skyway though it was high as she was with her friends.

I was really happy to know that she had enjoyed herself thoroughly with her friends and guess we can do another family outing in the near future.

Mother-In-Law’s Birthday Celebration

Mother-in-law was extremely happy this year when we celebrated her birthday at Ban Heng Pavilion as she was able to hold the latest addition to the family in her arms. Our little Emma is making grandma pretty happy as she flashed a wide smile when she was carried by her grandma.

We arranged the dinner at Ban Heng in a beautifully set up private room. We felt like we were at a wedding rather than our own private dinner as the room was built with glass doors and we were able to see what is happening in the main dining hall.  The room also had an access to the outdoor where it somehow served as a huge balcony for smokers I believed.

Hubby pre-ordered the set dinner for the celebration and we were really surprised by the portion of each dishes… there were only 14 of us including 4 kiddos & an infant but the portion were good for 16 adults I trust. It was so huge that we had left overs for every dish and we had to pack them in order not to waste them.
The dishes were pretty good and price was reasonable given the generous servings. We had a 9-course dinner set and they had thrown in the birthday buns complimentary for us as we have a birthday girl in the house!

After our sumptuous dinner, we rested and had a quick cake cutting ceremony for my mother-in-law who enjoyed herself with the company of her grand-children by her side. Overall dinner was great and bet we will be back to try their dim sum buffet someday…

Happy blessed birthday Ma… May God always watch and protect you always! We love you!

Dinner Outing With Boss

My wonderful boss called for a celebration for Linda’s birthday which is in 2 weeks’ time. Prior to dinner, he invited me to enjoy Happy Hour with him since I knocked off earlier than the other 2 ladies. He kindly arranged champagne and ham platter during the happy hour to toast another issue… J

We were back to Golden Spoon once again as we enjoyed the food so much the last time and to me; the salted egg yolk crab was unbelievably DELICIOUS!!! Boss was in charged for both wine and dishes as we sat to chat and wait for the food to be served. Hooray!!

He ordered our favourite dishes like the bamboo clams, prawn rolls, salted egg yolk crab (of course), garlic fried rice (which was specially prepared for him by chef) and other dishes. I was really happy and in the world of my own when it comes to salted egg yolk crab… hahaahahahah… I barely listened to the conversation and in fact, didn’t know what was the topics discussed… hahaahahah

After all the main dishes were served, we had a small cake cutting ceremony for Linda who will celebrate her birthday in 2 weeks’ time. She was feeling grateful and happy that our boss celebrated her birthday while her own boss actually cannot be bothered!!! Hahaahahahaah….

Emma Turns 7 Months Old

Our little addition is 7 months old today. She is learning to flip and now she could balance on her little belly to play with some of her toys. However, she has a bit of a trouble to flip back to the lying position as we guess she might be too heavy to do so….

She wants more attention as she grows and it’s not really that easy to leave her to play by herself for she will scream for you after she noticed that you disappeared. Though I love this stage and I hope that time can be more merciful not to fly so fast.

Happy 7 Month darling! We love you so much! May God continues to watch and protect you!

Linda’s Advance Birthday Celebration

The birthday girl Linda invited us to her house for an early birthday celebration for herself! It’s about 2 weeks before her actual birthday and she preferred to have it done at her place this time for her helper will be returning to Indonesia in September.
We did potluck style as it will be too much for the birthday girl to prepare everything for us. Some of us brought roast duck; Teriyaki chicken wings, dim sums, takoyaki, fruits, wine and I baked a cake for her birthday. Knowing that she is a great fan of chocolate, I baked her favorite of course.

It was a good opportunity for all the kiddos to hang out while the adults enjoyed the good food. It was really great to catch up with friends and colleagues whom we don’t get to talk or meet even though we are housed in the same office.

Linda was happy to spend time with us and man… she is a great host!! Always making sure that we have enough drinks and food; entertaining the kiddos and checking out the babies too… THUMPS UP!

Happy blessed birthday Leng… wishing you good health and WEALTH too… HUAT AHH!!!! Thanks for the wonderful time!!!
