Meeting Reynold Poernomo!

I have been a great fan of Masterchef Australia after watching season 3 and I found my love for baking after I was very much inspired by Reynold Poernomo on season 7. I was blown away by all the desserts he made and I just wanna be like him.

I chanced upon him advertising that he will be visiting Singapore and will feature Koi Desserts at Food Culture. I was obviously overwhelmed by the announcements and bought tickets immediately. I was really exited to meet him in person and tasting his desserts was a dream come true.

Before going to the Food Culture, I went to have luncheon with some old friends and of course, I brought along some desserts for them to cheer them up for a hectic day at work. It was really nice to meet old friends once in a while to catch up and at least we stay close.
The moment has come for me when I stepped food at Marina Bay Sands after luncheon and I was all alone entering the Food Culture Hall. I saw the Koi Desserts the moment I stepped in and I spotted my idol! He was really busy preparing the cakes to be on the served and noticed that he was decorating the cakes behind the counter.

The queue for the desserts was long so I went to walk around to check out other food stalls and met some friends who were queuing for food. It was nice to see familiar faces when you are alone. I went back to queue for Reynold’s desserts and bought the white chocolate berry to try, oohhhhhh…. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!! My goodness… how on earth did he made the cream so creamy and soft!!! I was totally blown away and decided to buy some home for family members to try.
While I was waiting for my cakes to be packed, Reynold came at the side for interview and I patiently waited for him to end his interview. Immediately after his interview, our eyes met and he stopped to chat a little and did a selfi too! I was over the moon I tell you!!!! Hhhahahaahahaha…

Back at home, all members enjoyed his desserts as much I did and really thumps up for his creations and taste. I am so happy that I was able to taste one of the Masterchef contestant’s food in Singapore. Woohoo!!!!

All The Best!

It is usually quite a happy thing to see some rotating staff returning to headquarters especially when they are the nasty ones. We do feel sad and pity if the rotating staff is a good and warm person to work with.

I would say that working with him was an enjoyable moment and I remembered on his third day of work in our department, I did not feel too well as I just found out I was pregnant but feeling unwell. I rushed to KK hospital in the morning with my then boss’ permission and I was really glad to know that everything was well and baby was healthy.

When I returned to office, my boss suspected my situation but we continued to head out for welcome luncheon with Tanaka-san. My boss then announced that I was pregnant and all food ordered that day had to be good for the baby…. Hahahaahah… I was really touched and happy at the same time with this wonderful life in me.

Tanaka-san has been a good and funny colleague to work with and though he was young, he was really hardworking and always eager to learn. After his 3 months training in Singapore, he returned to Japan and was transferred to our division. Within that year, he was assigned to return to Singapore once again to work in our subsidiary.

Today, we invited Tanaka-san of DGI for dinner as he will be returning to Japan after residing here for almost 5 years. We went to Tung Lok Signatures at The Central and Linda arranged everything for us and even the ultra delicious dishes. We were really happy though we ordered simple dishes but he enjoyed them so much that he would want to come back for more whenever he is in town.
Being it at work or play, he has been a great friend and colleague. He has always been there to help and lend a listening ear if we are facing some difficulties with work.

Tanaka-san, I hereby wish you all the very best in your new assignment! Cheers!

Super Overdue Meet Up

First of all, I want to thank Aunty Betty for ordering the cupcakes from me for her beloved grand-daughter’s birthday. I am truly honored to bake the cupcakes for her little sweetheart. Thank you for believing in me!

It has been ages since we last met and I am happy that we are still keeping in touch with each other through FB and sometimes via WhatsApp’s. I am really thankful for the technologies today that they allow people to keep connected even though you are near or far.

Today, I set off to meet Aunty Betty for luncheon and also delivering her the cupcakes she ordered. It was amazing how good she looked and I was really happy that we had so much to catch up after so many years.
It was indeed a lovely catch up with Aunty Betty and I guess we will more opportunities to meet up for lunch, tea or even dinner in the near future.

Thank you once again for your orders and trusting in me.

Lunch @ Paul’s

I was out and about running errands in Orchard Road and was looking for a place to chillax. I couldn’t decide where to lunch and ended up at Paul’s.

The café was cozy and this would be my first time dinning in as I usually buy their pastries as takeaway. I browsed through their menu and took a while to decide what to eat as there were a few favorites of mine on the menu and finally decided to order their poached eggs with smoked salmon. I trust that their coffee should be good but I was disappointed.

Anyway, the food was tasty but the portion was too huge for one (in my opinion) and I guess it will be great for sharing. Mmmh… will get hubby to lunch at Paul’s the next time so I can order other dishes to share.

Before heading home, I went to the basement to get food and snacks for the kiddos at home and I chanced upon this popular bubble tea joint – Xin Fu Tang. I was taken by surprised that their shop is located within the food court. Usually bubble tea joints have their own outlet or shop but this one is in the food court. Very interesting and I guess it created more crowds for the food court.
There was a short queue and I did not wait long for my drinks. I would say that the brown sugar milk was pretty tasty and not as sweet as Tiger though no sugar level can be chosen. As for their milk tea, it was quite nice. Tea was smooth and yummy but their pearls were not as chewy compared to Gong Cha or Koi.

Overall, it was a fruitful day for me! Woohoo!!! Let’s head home for baking…

Laser Tag Birthday Party

This would one of the most exciting birthday party we have attended and indeed, both adults and kids had a great time running around attacking each other… hahahaahah…

When I received the birthday invitation from my cousin for his daughter, it got me excited to attend this exciting party held at his place. It was a national holiday; Hari Raya Haji and it is also the actual birthday of Zoe’s.

Zoe turns 10 years old and laser tag party couldn’t be more suitable for her and her personality. As an active and outdoor girl, she and her friends/cousins were seen running around attacking each other’s team when the game began after detailed introduction by the game master. Everyone was very focus and came up with team strategy to win or protect their team members in a way or another.

The game master set up 2 camp point and they have to return to camp to recharge their ‘lives’ if they are shot dead after many shots… they too had to kill as many of their opponents as possible and had to collect as many light sticks during the last round of game.

It was a pity that little pumpkin was not able to join as she was too tiny. She couldn’t fit into her headgear and the gun was too heavy for her to carry and run around. She stood out of the game and hang out with her grandma while I was out and about taking photos and watching them in action was priceless.

After 2 hours of running, chasing and hiding, the game is finally over. Everyone headed back to the function for luncheon and taking rest before the cake cutting ceremony. Luncheon was great this time round as the last time the caterer prepared spicy food for kids instead. Anyway, everyone had so much fun but some kids were unhappy that their team lost and began to ignore some other kids. Huummppph…
During the cake cutting ceremony, we were happy that all kids became friends once again and they gathered around the table to sing the birthday song and photo-taking session thereafter. They continued to play with each other after having their desserts and I was happy to receive good feedback for the brownie goody bags that cousin ordered from me. 😊 Thank you for believing in me once again!
Happy blessed birthday Zoe and may the Good Lord continue to watch and protect you always.

I Am The Breakfast Chef

Yes… I am making breakfast on a rare Saturday morning while hubby was at work. Lady Faith requested scrambled eggs for breakfast and I had to comply.

I was pretty much happy that the breakfast turned up to be tasty and the standard was quite maintained. Hahahahaha… Lady Faith and little pumpkin gave thumps up and they enjoyed their breakfast pretty much as nothing was left… Woohoo!!

National Day Celebration @ School

Lady Faith and little Pumpkin were excited about the National Day celebration in school today. They were happy to dress in their Red and White home clothes instead of the everyday school uniform.
Happy celebrations at school girls!
