Post Christmas Hi-Tea

It’s been a long time since we had our hi-tea gathering. Taking the Christmas season, we finally gathered at Plaza Market Café, Swissotel The Stamford for Hi-Tea.

They were serving international buffet and it started from 12:30pm. We arrived pretty on time and many weren’t that late except for Hairon… sighz… nothing new… hahahahaah… anyway, we started off with starters and mmmh… hubby said that the spread wasn’t fantastic but I thought it was not too bad.

They had turkey, mee siam, nasi lemak and other dishes as mains. I enjoyed the spring rolls though they were very common; the item that will never go wrong! Mmmh… I enjoyed the turkey, fried rice, sambal lady’s fingers, mee siam and many others…

As for dessert, they had durian pudding (their best), scones, nonya kuehs, cakes and ice-cream. No doubt, most of us enjoyed the durian pudding and some of us even had 2nd servings… hhheehehe

What mattered most was the company of friends on a Sunday afternoon. It was rare but it was simply enjoyable. There was so much fun just simply talking and laughing the hot afternoon away. As usual, some of us got drunk on chocolate and they own food… it was really funny and man, I totally enjoyed the time with my friends.

As the Year 2009 is approaching, I would like to wish all my buddies and friends a very Happy New Year. I love you pals…

Christmas Dinner with Colleagues

It became our tradition to have Christmas dinner every year and this year. This year, we dined at New York New York at City Link. It was first time for most of us and we can’t help but took tons of pictures as the wallpapers were cool.

My darling Angie kindly booked the tables for us so that we could avoid the queue… we were given a cozy corner though we have to share that little room with other patrons. When we looked at the menu, there were so many foods we would like to try but somehow we narrowed down to the popular ones instead.

Our tables were separated in fours and each table ordered their own. For our table, we ordered Caesar Salad, Meat Platter for 2, Pizza, Calamari, Cheese Balls and Buffalo wings to share. We were shocked to see the Meat Platter… it was extremely huge… definitely that plate could serve more than 2… perhaps for 4!

We were delighted to have Cheng Xi to join us for dinner though he drops by at the office once in a while. He was really funny and everyone enjoyed his jokes…

They did not take long to have our food served and man... the food was delicious and I like the meat platter most... As usual, we over ordered our food and we had to waste them... very bad...

It was one of the best dinners we had so far. mmmh…. I will be back to try their ribs soon…

Have A Blessed Christmas Palz...

Annual Dinner & Dance 2008

Time flies, it’s another year of Annual Dinner & Dance. It seemed like yesterday when we remembered last year’s programs.

This year’s committee has done a great job indeed though that wasn’t what they planned for. It was held at the Hilton Singapore; the theme for the night was Olympics. It was an easy dress-code but not all are dressed for it… that was pretty usual for my colleagues not dressing to the theme…

The event started off with our GM’s speech and the presentation of Long Service Award and followed by dinner. Mmmh…. the food was pretty nice I thought. We have lobster salad for starter, shark’s fin soup and my favorite would be the roast chicken.

The first program was the KTV competition. There were total 6 groups of contestants; 5 other groups were our subsidiaries and 1 group from our branch. They were quite a performer actually and Metal One put up a great one by singing and acting. It was really funny but extremely entertaining. Our branch representatives were Philip, Susan, Jessica & Sugano-san and they sang Beautiful Girl. It was very entertaining and cute.

During my own toilet break, I noticed that the other performers are dressing up and preparing themselves outside the ballroom. They were all getting ready and some were warming up too. Taking the chance, we took some pictures and had a chat with them. Some of them were nervous and some were comfortable. It was quite a rare scene… hehehe

It was the program of the night; the performance by all the new Japanese & local staff. First performance was Mui Thai performed by Alan & Thanapat. They looked really cool and manly….

There was a cute cat dance by Okamoto-san, Oi-san, Katsuki-san and Taguchi-san. It was really CUTE… they were dressed up with cat hair bands and a cute little tail at the back… so adorable!!

The performance that blown everyone away was the dance by Ishii-san, Sugano-san, Bob & Ismail; they had a series of different outfit and the dance steps were really kiddy but extremely cute. I personally loved it. They attracted the most audience, claps and cheers! We ran to the front to watch and for a moment, we were like their fans cheering them on and clapping along.

The last performance by Nakayama-san of Agrex & Kanmatsuse-san was hilarious! They acted like as if they were performing a rock concert and it really felt like it though. It was fun and full of energy!

Our GM who loves to sing and dance performed 2 mandarin songs with his partner. Some of us sat there to enjoy the first song but when he sang the second song, most of us were already outside having a great time on our own by taking pictures.

The night ended after the lucky draws and the lucky winner Alan won the first prize which was a 50 inches Hitachi plasma TV. Congrats man…
