Painful Visit

I was all set to visit the dentist after a long delayed appointment. It was a sunny morning before May Day and thought it would be nice to have a set of new clean teeth from the month of May!

Appointment with the NTUC Denticare was at 10:20am and was early as usual. The clinic was crowded and realized that there were only 2 dentists on duty that day. I was called to the surgery room after waiting for 15 minutes. The dentist checked my teeth and told me that I had to go for a x-ray in order for him to locate my wisdom tooth.

After the x-ray, he told me that my wisdom tooth is in place and if they aren’t bothering me, I should leave them alone for the time being. So, he suggested that I have a deep cleaning for my teeth instead.

I was all excited to have my teeth cleaned and told him that it would be nice if he can have them polished too. Then my nightmare started as early as 11am!!!! 1st, he told me that in order for him to do a deep cleansing, I had to take 3 injections!!! Not one people, THREE leh!!!! The 1st jab, tear rolled down on my right eye and it was damn bloody painful…2nd one was worse!! Needless to say… 3rd jab, I was asking myself ‘Am I still alive’..

I was asked to sit outside after the jab as it took time for the anesthetic to take effects. I was called to return to the surgery room after 20 minutes. The dentist started to clean my teeth immediately and those scraping & sound was totally unbearable! I couldn’t find my lips at all when I tried to rinse my mouth after each session. My lips were numbed and felt like I was having a sausage lips leh… For a moment, it reminded me of the ‘gong fu’ movie that I watched a long time again acted by Tony Leung whose lips was like sausage after he was poisoned… I felt like I was poisoned man..

Right after the cleansing, I wasn’t able to talk as it was still numbed. Though my teeth are much cleaned now, it was a horrible experience and I will definitely keep them as clean as possible to avoid visiting the dentist again.

Friends Lost & Found

The group
Vincent & Vee
Lester & Vee
Viola & Vee
Benson & Me
Germaine & Me

Friends have always been very important in my life and I always cherish the time that we spent together.

It felt like 'blind date' as I was all excited to meet up with my old friends whom I have not seen for a decade! I arranged to have them meet at Vivocity, which was the centralized place for most and away from busy traffic on a Friday evening.

When I stepped into the huge shopping mall, I strangely had butterflies in my stomach and I felt like a schoolgirl going on her 1st date. No, I wasn't meeting a guy whom you might think I had a crush on. Seated in Akashi Japanese Restaurant was a bunch of old friends (Benson, Vincent, Lester, Viola, Germaine).

I have not met Ben, Vince & Lester more than a decade and they behaved like old days except for the size.... haaaaa. We teased one another over dinner and were all feeling young again!

It was really my 1st time partying with this group of friends at St. James Powerstation. Geezzzz... the place was so huge that you might even get lost if you don't get a map! It was so crowded at some rooms in St. James but we decided to settle at Gallery Room, which the music was somehow like Velvet & Zouk (mmh...at least there was a place which I felt at 'home')

I enjoyed myself thoroughly and guess we will be having such gathering again in the near future...

Thanks for a wonderful night friends.

P-Plate No More!

Last year today, I was excited, nervous and worried when I stepped into UBI driving centre for my practical test.

I clearly remembered that my instructor told me to get ready my NRIC and my PDL to wait at a room. There were 9 of us. While waiting, one of the tester explained the whole procedures and students were asked to draw their test route.

While I was in the car with the tester, it was really nerve-wracking. Though we started off at the circuit which I have been practicing but somehow I was unable to focus coz’ the one sitting beside wasn’t my instructor but a TESTER. Gosh… at that moment, I really felt like shitting…..

On the roads, it was worse and the traffic wasn’t helping as it was rush hours…I was telling myself that I must not panic or at least not to show him that I was lor.. Finally, I drove back to the driving centre and followed him up to the room where he will evaluate your performance. That moment, I was telling myself that it’s either you made it or you don’t and I have to face the music somehow.

At first, he was commenting on some mistakes which I made in the circuit… guess what; he told me that I was driving too fast in the circuit (okay..I was driving on 2nd & 3rd gear). Then, he continued that I was driving too fast on the roads despite heavy traffic and he went on and on… at the end of it, he complimented that I was overall an alert, careful and steady driver. He passed me with 10 points!! I was overjoyed and I grabbed his arms and thanked him.

I called Uncle Lim (my instructor) to tell him the good news and he was overjoyed too. He told me that he expected me to pass as that was my 3rd time. When I attended the traffic rules briefing, I saw 6 of the students from my group and we congratulated one another. Though the briefing was ½ hour but it seemed forever as I can’t wait to get my driving license.

Upon collection of the license, we are to produce the test results, 1 color photograph, NRIC and a one-time payment of $50. The lady at the counter passed me an A4 sized paper as my temporary license. It looked silly but was perfectly fine…

I started driving with the orbit looking p-plate placed in the car windscreen and back. Though I passed but driving on the road without an instructor was indeed scary. It was really a blessing that my friend was very kind to lend me her car while she was on flight. I had the car for a week and the feeling of driving was really great. At first, I was panic and worried that I might scratch her car but told myself that I had to steady and be extra careful. Hubby & friends also gave advices and told me to be extra careful while I was driving.

It’s exactly 1 year and I will say ‘Goodbye’ to the orbit p-plate… am now a qualified driver and it’s a brand new chapter for driving…. Yahooooooooooooo……

Grey Monday

The weather is really unpredictable these days don't you think? In the morning when I was heading to work, the sun was so piercing that I was hoping that I could work from home.

It is so humid today and it's really painful to lunch out, so I decided to lunch in instead. Lunching in can be good at times; you are able to avoid the sun, the oily smell on your shirt/hair or even on your body and avoid some people you might likely bump into. hahahaahahah...

Was quite frustrated when the sky gets darker and lightning is moving in fiercely when the clock is approaching to knock off time... Dun you just hate the rain when you're about to knock off? sighz... For me, I find it irritating and disgusting to walk on wet grounds.. (friends who know me that well knows it too!!) Just don't like the feeling of getting my toes wet especially when you're wearing flats (as in REALLY FLAT shoes)... very sick feeling.

It's 6pm+ now and realized that it has stopped pouring. Though the floor is still wet, guess I should able to handle the 'walk' to MRT with my super flat sandals. Better leave now coz' I am not sure when the Cats will fall again!!

A Rare Outing On Saturday

It's finally the weekend and such a previous time for me to rest and relax at the comfort of my home. I spent most of my Saturdays at home keeping mummy company and try to catch up with my 'Mr Chow'...(sleeping, in case you're not sure).

Today is something different where I decided to meet up with a good friend for rare lunch on a Saturday. The sun was at its full power as I took the bus to Tampines Mall. For that moment, I was hoping that I was wearing a bikini coz' it was even uncomfortable wearing Tees.

Talking and laughing at silly things over lunch with an old pal is just perfect. We don't meet up often but somehow we were able to share and talked openly. Guess I have to meet up with my friends more often coz' I seriously think they are the best therapy.

Attended mass in the evening and surprised to see a 'new' Father Bosco when he came out to help giving communion. Heard from my colleague a few days back but can't figure out. Father John Bosco is hairless! No hair, no beard and no glasses. I wouldn't know it's him if not for my colleague's information.

With that changes, he was showing us an example of how the disciples of Jesus couldn't recognize him after he has risen. It is the example of what Jesus said to Thomas; 'Happy are those who have not seen but yet believed'. Truly Amen.

Train Ride

Traveling on the MRT can be annoying at times when you are looking forward to a pleasant day but witness some unpleasant behaviour by people around you.

During morning rush hours, it really makes me wonder why people love to stand at the LRT train door when seats are available. They were so inconsiderate when they refused to move even though they saw others were trying to get in. So, I call them 'The Train Bouncer'.

When the same group of people transfers to the MRT, strangely they were totally transformed to another type of people, 'The Seats Cheongsters'. I am not lying and exaggerating. As soon as the MRT train door opened, 'hungry' passengers rushed in and pushed their way through to put their butt on those empty seats. Some even ran.. yes, RUN to the empty seats. Doesn't that make you wonder..? 'One moment they were 'train door bouncer' and the next 'Seats Cheongsters'?

Apart from the two categories, there are also the 'Pretenders'. They are the ones who doze off deeply the moment they saw a pregnant woman or old folks entering the train. Aiyo lor..

There was an incident couple year’s back when my friend & I were waiting for the train at City Hall. She was pregnant then and when the train arrived, I saw a few adults who seated facing the door, closed their eyes and seemed to be sleeping soundly the moment they saw us. I told her to stand in front of them and said 'keep sleeping and may Freddie Kruger find you soon'. Guess what.. one of them actually woke up and gave up the seat to my friend. Well.. that line certainly worked for some...hahahaha..

People out there; make sure you give up your seats to those who need it more than you as you might want others to give up their seats to you one day. Be considerate and dun make yourself look ugly..

Boiling Point

There comes a time when you tell yourself 'Enough is Enough'. Being too nice could be a bad thing after all as people around you will take advantages of you.

Bosses tend to think you can handle though you're already overloaded with your own work. They will never understand as they are the ones who are assigning all the work to us....Sigh...

I have been in a SUPER FOUL mood for the past couple of days though I don't really show them to everyone. It hasn't been good for me on those few HELL days which I had to multi-task though anyone who is not in my position may think it's just small issue. As usual, things will go wrong somewhere somehow...

It was only until yesterday when I realized that the frustration I had finally came to a boiling point where I had to voice out my unhappiness and anger in me. I have to say that it was really SHIOK when you let it out or you will probably develop heart problem if you don't.

In the MRT on the way back, was thinking about the whole matter that happened at work and feeling guilty for a moment for screaming at that person but ... then again, that 'unfortunate one' really deserved it la.. Stepped on the mines & was blown up...

So Thick Skin

I headed home last night after a long day's work which was frustrating and can't wait to relax at the comfort of my sofa...

It was 10pm and American Idol was aired. Didn't get to watch the result show and not knowing who was voted out. Really clueless. MAN... I am shocked to see SANJAYA still in the competition!! What the hell is he doing there week after week?

He sounded so bad that I wasn't able to sit there and watch.. The song that he chose was quite cute and sexy but he sounded gayish... Not SEXY at all laaa SANJAYA.. I couldn't understand what his fans see in him till the Love of my Life told me this "Americans like MJ la.. give him a break. Maybe the next time he will perform very well when he sing 'BEAT IT'" I just starred at him speechless!

If we are allowed to vote for them, I would definitely vote for Lekisha, Blake & Melinda. I think they are great singers and if Singapore can vote.. who will you vote?

Am I becoming a blogger?

Blogs has been the IN thing but somehow I am unsure how I can create or post a blog till my 'TWIN' started hers and I have been her regular reader. I finally understand why people start to create their own blog..

Guess it's been almost a year since I started reading blogs posted by friends and those who want to scream their lungs out via words.... you know what I mean bloggers out there...

Alright... this is just something that I want to share and start to be a blogger I think...hopefully you will enjoy reading my blog and start to know me better if you haven't..
