Dinner Gathering @ Hana

It was a long delayed dinner gathering with Minowa-san and finally, we met up today to dine at Hana, located at Cuppage Plaza. It was recommended by Minowa-san as usual who knows good Japanese restaurants.

It was a small & cozy shop that served pretty good Japanese cuisines. We left the ordering of food to Minowa-san as I have simply no idea what is good. I could only request for my octopus, squids etc… and it was usually granted. J
He ordered pretty interesting dishes like the Uni Sashimi, grilled stingray fins, fried octopus, seasonal fish and the yummy garlic fried rice. I would say that the food they served was tasty but not too sure of the cost as it was a treat from Steven. J

Dinner was good but the companion and fellowship was better. :0)

Shevaun Turns 6 Years Old

Baby Shevaun is baby no more! We celebrated this little young lady’s 6th birthday party at Tiara Society located at UE Square today. Maggie planned this party about 3 months ago and told me that the kids will be happy to be at the party as they will get to dress up.

When we arrived at the party, Faith was really excited to know that she will be able to dress up like Cinderella – her favourite princess in the Disney serials. She did not take long to change into the princess costume and had chosen her tiara to match.

The program started with costume changing, playtime, cupcakes decorating and then games for the kids. The program really kept the kids busy while the adults managed to enjoy their dinner. Kids were asked to gather for the photo taking with the birthday princess as they sang the song and followed by cake cutting ceremony.
Royal dinner was served to the kids… well, not exactly dinner but more like snacks and cakes. The dining table was set up pretty and the kids were happily enjoying themselves. The party did not end after the snacks but continued with story-telling at the royal carriage where kids sat around and listened attentively to the host. :0)

Faith was happy and still full of praise for the party though very tired after playing princess for the last couple of hours. J Thanks for the wonderful party and having us to join this wonderful occasion.

Happy Blessed Birthday Shevaun! May God continues to watch and protect you always.

Baby Girl’s School Concert

We were told by teacher every year that there will be a K2 school leaving concert and we did not join till today. Since the day of the announcement of the concert date, the kiddos started practicing their performance.

When we arrived at the concert venue located at Tampines, I was excitedly to get a glimpse of our baby girl but all the kids were in their costumes already. After a few minutes, I found her with her friends walking up to the concert hall to get ready and I managed to get her to pose for a picture before she headed to the back stage.
The concert started with 2 of her K2 pals being the Master of Ceremony for the day. They spoke in both Mandarin and English fluently which was really entertaining. With the program lined up with the first performance from kids who took Piano lessons. They played simple nursery rhymes and were good.
Followed up was the items by Faith’s classmates and then it was her 1st performance on stage. I was really excited to see our little girl on stage and spoken well. Feeling very proud of her, my tears somehow flowed down uncontrollably…

After her 1st performance, I was waiting patiently for her 2nd performance which was the dance she practiced so hard in school and at home. They came out in their Kabaya and danced along with the song ‘Rasa Sayang’. It was really well-practiced and I was overjoyed to see how well she danced.
After a 2 hour of fantastic entertainment by the kids, they ended the concert with the presentation of the K2 students in their graduation gowns. It was really sweet and I will be witnessing that next year when baby girl receives hers.

MC 60th Anniversary Party

Our company celebrated its 60th Anniversary this month and with the budget approved by our GM, we planned a party at The Wine Universe located at Millenia Walk.  Initially, we wanted to hold the party at our GM’s residence but the response was one of the worst in the history!! Hahahaahah…

Anyway, The Wine Universe was quite a good place for chilling out and holding small parties. We arranged food, wine, beers and soft drinks for the party and the turnout was pretty overwhelming! All staff came early for the party and everyone seemed to enjoy the food and wine we prepared for them.

During the presentation by ADM DH, I was happy that he gave me recognition of the logo which I designed for the souvenir and the slides for party. Though it was quite a chore to arrange this celebration but I am glad to see smiles on my colleagues’ face… seeing them enjoying themselves gave me the sense of satisfaction.
There were no games, no dancing whatsoever, but it was simply a chill out and get-together with the staff. Many staff was happily drinking the wine by the bottle while others just sat and chat the night away.

At the end of the night, there were some colleagues drunk, tipsy and some even laid flat on the sofa waiting for their loved ones to bring them back. Sighz… so much of partying!! hahahaahahah

Movie Date With Colleagues

About 2 months ago when we knew that the movie Paranormal Activity will be screening in October, we were really excited and planned to watch it together. Yes, we did it today since I was clearing my maternity leave for the whole of this week and my colleagues took half day to hang out for movie. J

We met for lunch before the movie and hang out for a short shopping as we were still early. :0) The movie is screening at the new cinema Filmgrarde located at Bugis II. Honestly, I have not been to Bugis for the longest time and I can’t even recall when my last visit… was anyway, it was refreshing shopping at the place I have not step foot on.

The movie was not scary but frightening!!! I was kind of affected by the show though it is not based on a true story. The story told about the little girl who was disturbed by the evil spirit named Toby and somehow her room setup is similar to my baby girl and coincidentally she too has a toy bear named TOBY!!! That somehow freaked me out when I was watching the movie as I was imagined the girl was Faith!!! GOODNESS ME!!!!
Anyway, after the movie, I know I have to come to my senses that it is just a movie and it was all co-incidents that the setup of the girl is similar… However, when I got home, I took her big bear and kept it in the store while I shifted her teepee to another corner of her room… hahahahaha.. well, I guess I hasn’t gotten over the movie yet…

Movie Time With Buds

It’s been a long time since we last watched a movie together. Since I am on leave this week, I planned to have movie date with my best buds.

We headed down to have our brunch and chill out before heading for our movie. We were all excited to watch the movie together not so much about the show but the companionship we missed.

However, Vivian & I were more attracted to the Peanuts advertisements at Shaw than the 007. Me, being a great fan of Snoopy, headed towards the cardboard display where they placed for photo-taking. It was so adorable and I just couldn’t resist it and took a few good shots!
Movies with friends has always been one of my favourite stuff to do … just like when we were young and went for lots of movies after school, weekends and even in-between school hours… shhhhhh….

Thanks buds for the wonderful time spent though it’s only for movie but truly enjoyed it!

Shopping At Orchard Road

It is considered rare for us to hang out at Orchard Road on weekends but today, we decided to do lunch and some Christmas shopping with our kiddos.

As we were crossing the road towards The Heeren, we noticed that there were many sports cars on the road. They stopped at the traffic light and some came out taking pictures with their cars by their photographers. It was quite a scene on a Sunday morning. The cars were lined up spaciously and zoomed off when the light turned green.
Baby girl was amazed by the sight of so many different types of sports car parading on the road. Well, heading down to Orchard Road on a Sunday morning isn’t so bad after all…

Birthday Celebration for Aunty Sue

Our beloved aunt will be celebrating her birthday this week and we the young ones came up with something special this year.

It was somehow special as we decided to have her birthday celebrated at the venue where we were familiar with – our childhood area. Yes, I grew up around Capitol Building area and watched many movies at the Capitol Cinema when I was little. In fact, that was my playground.
Now that Capitol is revamped and it was great to be back! The elderly were happy to be back on the grounds though everything is different now compared to those days in the 70s. As we walked through the building, I told Faith about the history and told her about my childhood days.
The Capitol Building was really beautiful given the colonel style exterior and modern settings in the interior. There were quite a handful of eateries though they may be costly but overall, the place was cozy and kind of cool!

We decided to have the celebration done at the ‘high-class’ food court at the basement where the concept is similar like Marche but Chinese & Local Style. Menus were given once you were seated and orders to be done via iPad.

After dinner, we had the cake cutting ceremony and kiddos were happy to celebrate Gujie’s birthday as they sang the birthday song quite loudly…. hahahahahah
The food was normal I would say but pricey. If you ask if I will return for another bowl of fishball noodle, I will tell you… NEVER.

Happy Blessed Birthday Gujie! May the Lord watch and protect you always.
