Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

After the lantern making a few days ago, little pumpkin is finally bringing her lantern to school for celebration. She is so excited that she wanted to hold it as she walked to school but I told her that it is better to protect the lantern by putting it into a bag.

Well, she reluctantly agreed and did as requested. When she arrived at school, she quickly asked her form teacher to look at the lantern that I made for her. She was happy and proud of the lantern and she also showed to her classmate who was just nearby.

When she arrived home from school, she could not stop talking about the celebration and how much her friends loves her lantern. She said that she allowed all her friends to take turns to play and she was happy that everyone loves it. 😊 hahahahaahahah….

Lantern Making

It has been years that I have been helping kiddos to make their lanterns when they started their playgroup. When they were younger, the teachers at school will help them with lantern making or perhaps they will get parents to make a simple one so that they can bring it to school for celebration.

This year, being the last year for little pumpkin, I decided to assist her to make a nice one which we can keep and use. :0) Using the leftovers thick ice-cream sticks from making the jewelry boxes for teacher’s day, I came up with a design that might last for a long time. 😊

Little pumpkin has her own idea of what her lantern would look like and I tired to accommodate and finally came out with the design. I used up many ice-creams sticks to make the lantern and after all the printing, sticking and assembling, the final product turned out to be amazing! 😊

I showed it to little pumpkin and she was over-joyed and thrilled to see her lantern. She is so happy that she said that all of her friends will be excited to see and play with her lantern. Well, as for me, I am really proud of myself for being able to create this cool lantern for her in a couple of hours and having it lighted up with a bulb was really wonderful. Now, this lantern is not only for celebration but we can also put into good use. Lady Faith loves it and she wants it to be in her room as a side table lamp. 😊

Woohoo!!! Mission completed and kiddos are happy! Yippy!

Make Your Own Costume

I realized that little Pumpkin’s school has loads of activities lately and the most recent one will be getting the kids and parents to work out a costume together. I am totally in shock but there is no way out for me. I just had to get down to do it with little pumpkin.

I checked with the teacher in charge and was told that we can do anything from a headdress to a full costume using recycle materials. Honestly, I am kind of lost when it comes to creating stuff with things you can recycle or used items found at home. I discussed with her and we decided to make it simple. Told her that I will try to work out a headdress for her as it should not be too complicated and difficult for us to make.

Well, I searched the storeroom for some wrappers and ribbons and started to search for designs. I found some nice feathers online and have them printed out and cut them out slowly. Little pumpkin love the designs and she wanted to put in some effort so, she did some of the cutting. 😊

Finally, the whole headdress is coming together after an hour of work and it looked pretty cool! Little pumpkin was really thrilled how the headdress turned out and she is really excited to show it to her friends and teachers. We had her tried on and she was looking cool!

Mmmh… I wonder what else is next after this… hahaahahahah

Banana Cake

Mmmh…. I baked many different types of cakes but this would be my first time taking on Banana Cake. I am no fan of bananas and baking this cake will be slightly difficult for me. I know of many famous bakeries that made super good banana cakes especially the one in JB which is so popular that you got to order from them before visiting their shop.

Well, I found a good recipe on the internet and as usual, I adjusted the sugar and stuff on the recipe and man… it turned out to be pretty good. Mum was the first taster this time and she totally LOVED it! She said that this is the best banana cake she tasted so far and told me to put into my menu and sell them. She loves the soft and moist texture of the cake with evenly spread banana taste and not too sweet she said. 😊

I am so happy that it turned out so good though I am not a fan. I took a small bite and yes, I love it too… hahaahahah… not to praise myself but man… this cake is going to be a popular one I believe. 😊

Snow Skin Ondeh Ondeh Mooncakes

This would be my second time making snow skin mooncakes but my first for Ondeh Ondeh. I remembered I made very simple chocolate snow skin mooncakes quite some years back and was not too bad.

I am a great fan of snow skin and that’s why I want to try making them myself. Well, the Ondeh Ondeh mooncakes turned out to be a bomb actually! I simply love the texture of the snow skin and glad that I did not put too much gula melaka to the mixture for the fillings. YUMSSS… I am loving it and I was given thumps up from friends and most importantly my taste tester – Lady Faith.

Lady Faith couldn’t resist eating them but we had to stop her as she finished two mooncakes at one go and requesting for more… Geeezzzz… that’s sugar overloaded!!! Anyway, I am happy to know that my effort will not be wasted as there is someone who will finish all the mooncakes in the fridge. 😊

Fun At Maggie’s Place

It’s been a long time since the kids took a plunge into the pool. Maggie invited us to her new nest to join them at the pool since it’s a non-school day. 😊

We set off early and visited Maggie’s new nest which was very cozy and beautifully decorated. The kids hurried to get changed and headed down to the pool. They wasted no time and started to play in the pool as we gave the kids an hour of swim.

The girls were so thrilled to ride on the huge float and playing hide and seek in the pool too. It was really happy to see the girls having fun with their cousins as they do not get to meet as often as before due to school and enrichment classes.

After their swim and luncheon, the girls got together and started making handicrafts. They were helping each other, and the final results of the items were beautiful. They made key chains and the snow globe that Maggie had bought and prepared for them to play.

Thank you, Maggie, for inviting us to your beautiful nest and the kids had a blast! We will definitely be back again to spend more time next time.

Dinner At Jamie’s

It has been a long time since we head out for dinner due to Circuit Breaker. We are happy that we have moved to Phase 2 and taking this opportunity, we decided to dine out.

The kids are missing the food at Jamie’s and here we are today! It was also to celebrate mummy’s speedy recovery from her fall and it is her first outing after her recovery. We ordered some of their favourite dishes and tried their special Pork Belly today which turned out to be a hit! With the super crispy skin on the outside and the meat was soft and tender! SUPER YUMSSSS!!!

The pasta and pizza were delicious too! Okay, not that we are housed at home for too long, but the food was really good! I highly recommend you to dine at their Forum Gallery outlet instead of Vivo as the food tasted better.

The food at Jamie’s never disappoints and we had a blast. I do hope that this COVID-19 situation will be better or end this crisis soonest so that everything will be back to normal. I cannot wait to meet up with more of my friends and dine together.

Let us work together to fight this COVID-19! Stay safe and healthy!

Breakfast With Lady Faith

When Lady Faith is not at school, I am always seeking opportunities to have some ‘Our Time’ with her as I spent more time with little pumpkin.

Being a non-school day today, I brought her out to have breakfast at Starbucks as she was craving for her hot chocolate and the chicken fold-over.  Hahaahah… she gladly woke up early and set off to breakfast after I sent little pumpkin to school.

She enjoyed her breakfast as usual and we did some marketing together which we haven’t done that for a long time. I used to bring her to marketing when she was little, and I simply enjoyed having her in the baby carrier though it was slightly heavy. 😊 arrrggghhh… my baby is growing up way too fast!

Stir-fried Broccoli With Egg Tofu And Salmon

I am running out of ideas what to cook and with the left-over egg tofu from last night’s dinner, I decided to put them in good use. 😊

I stir-fried them with broccoli and salmon and adding egg to the sauce which took it to another level. I am happy how the dish turned out and it was super welcome by the kids and family. they declared that this has registered into their favourite list. 😊 hahahahaah

Happy Teacher’s Day

It is the time of the year that we should thank the teachers for their effort and patience towards our children at school. Being a teacher is never an easy job as they must pay attention to each student in class and getting to know them personally is another challenge.

As the school mentioned that they would prefer the kids to handmake crafts or gifts for the teachers instead of buying, we made some pretty jewel boxes for them. Lady Faith made most of them for her teachers while I took part to make some for her tutors. As little pumpkin is struggling with the assembly of the sticks, I did the rest. 😊

We were all very happy how pretty they turned out and the girls are very excited to give them to their teachers. I baked chocolate muffins for little pumpkin’s teacher’s day celebration as our humble gifts to them.

At the same time, we put aside some muffins for her tutors too and we bought highlighter set for her tutor Mr. Albert as he may not be suitable to have the girly jewel box. Hahahahaah….

Wishing all the teachers a Happy Teacher’s Day!
