Royal Visit

Don’t be fooled by the title of this article… we were invited by the Ms. Ivy Ng, Sales Manger of Royal Plaza on Scotts to view their rooms and facilities.

There was a fresh aroma when we arrived at the lobby and for a moment, we thought the fresh sense was from the lit candles. We were told by Ivy that it was from the centralized air-cleaner in the hotel. It was indeed something new and pretty fresh impression for a start. She kindly showed the Deluxe & Premier Rooms, meeting rooms and the pool. The rooms were really cozy and nice though not really big in size. Like the Premier Room especially the see-through glasses bathroom! Man… that was really kinky man…

Walked through their Heat Lounge and it was a love at first sight. The décor and ambience was great; it has that ‘velvet underground’ sort of ‘FEEL’ but the area was quite small for office party… very comfortable place to chill and just relax. Hmmh… I will try chilling out there next time.

We were invited to dine at Carousel where they served a fantastic Halah kitchen buffet spread. I was really impressed by the spread… for starters, there were lobsters, crayfish, oysters, prawns, clams, mussels etc… the salad bars was awesome too, a wide range of salad dressings. The mains were great too with chilli crabs, chicken rice, pasta station, rib eye & roast herbal chicken station, sausages, Indian cuisine, 4 different types of soups etc… I guess there is no need to mention about their desserts… there were 3 desserts stations; fruits, fondue, cakes & ice-cream.

Besides the awesome spread, I simply loved their décor and their cutleries. Everything was custom-made for the restaurant; very nice. What brought us to attention was the way their staff celebrated birthdays for diners. They came out as a group with the cake and started singing their very own Birthday Song to the birthday boy/girl. We witnessed 2 birthday celebrations and both birthday songs were different. How interesting isn't it. Maybe I should suggest this place for my friend’s birthday to surprise them…

It was indeed an enjoyable night at the Royal Plaza on Scotts.
