Sichuan Lunch

We were once again invited to lunch with Minowa-san today. He finally brought us to try out the Sichuan cuisine after he had talked about it for months.

Set off as early as 12noon for lunch and travelled about 20 minutes to the venue where he talked about during our previous lunch dates. Mapo Doufu Restaurant located at Upper Thomson Road; a very humble restaurant situated a corner at Sin Ming Plaza.

Though I have passed by the place many times but today is my 1st time trying out the food. It’s relatively quiet for lunch as there aren’t any offices around there but small shops. We ordered a-la-carte dishes instead of steamboat though boss mentioned that it was really good.

We ordered mapo doufu (the famous dish for Sichuan); French beans with minced pork, hot & sour soup and sliced pork… man, those dishes were fantastic man! I simply love the French beans with minced pork, the generous portion and the tons of minced pork made it so delicious. Minowa-san recommended their steamboat and told us to try out someday but try to avoid weekend night as its usually FULL-HOUSED!

Mmmh…. I will definitely return for the steamboat soon.
