Lunch At Takumi

This will be our second visit to Takumi with Minowa-san today. Our last visit was quite a while ago and somehow the delicious rice that we had previously is still very clear in our mind.

When we arrived at Takumi, we were surprised that it was empty and we were their first customers. Later did we found out that they have stopped serving ‘Ladies’ set lunch’ which was really popular in the past.

They have a different set lunches and I thought it was quite costly. Linda took the cod-fish set lunch and both Minowa-san & I had the Teppan beef set.

Our appetizer was pretty interesting… it was chicken in jelly! Yes, JELLO! It was kind of refreshing and different and Linda had sashimi as her appetizer. Then we were served with breaded scallop and I thought Linda’s cute basket of tiny dishes were really cool. In the little basket, there were small tiny bits of octopus, jelly fish, prawn, sushi and tempura.

Before our main dishes were served, we had chawamushi and I thought it was simple. It was not as tasty as the one we had at Shabu Shabu Gen. Anyway, we enjoyed our main dishes… cod fish for Linda and beef for us… the beef was really tender and juicy and the pickle rice was great too but somehow tasted different from the previous time we had…

The dessert was peach with jelly which initially we thought it was peach on ice… simply like the food and the presentation.

Thank you Minowa-san for the wonderful lunch…
