Family Trip To Malacca

This would be my first time taking coach from SIN to Malacca. Though it’s not the normal excitement but I am still happy that we are travelling as a family. Earlier this year, we planned to visit Taiwan but after receiving the good news of Maggie’s 2nd pregnancy, we decided to take a shorter holiday.

We arrived at Golden Mile Complex this early morning for check in and after loading our entire luggage, we set off for Malacca. I would say that the coach was spacious and comfortable for this long ride. Faith was enjoying her ride sitting on me and excited about the trip as her cousins were there to play along…
It took us about a total of 6 hours to reach Malacca finally as there were couple of stop over during the ride. After checking in to Hatten Hotel, the newest hotel in Malacca, we preferred to take rest as it was quite a long ride from Singapore.

The hotel is so new that there were still some renovations seen at the hotel lobby. I would say that the room is simply great especially they have a separate area for bedroom and small living room, smartly equipped with two TVs. Excellent!

Since Malacca is famous for their Peranakan cuisines, we decided to have nonya food for dinner. We went to the restaurant that was introduced by my dear buddy Bird, who brought us there last year during our road trip.

When we arrived at Bayonya which is walking distance from where we stayed. It was almost empty but after placing our orders, the crowd came rushing in. It was the exact scenario when we came here for lunch last year…

We ordered the usual food like fish head curry, fried chicken, chap chai, fried egg and their kang kong balachan. Their food was good but the service was really slow… they actually serve all the food at once for each table… which means, they do not prepare big portion for the same dishes and serve tables that had the same orders… After dinner, we ordered their gendol as our desserts, the elderly loved it but not the kiddos as the coconut milk were too strong for them.

We decided to call it an early night as we were all tired out after a long ride…
