Our Scenic Drive To Twelve Apostles

After a very good night sleep at Warrnambool, we set off our journey on the Great Ocean Road. This is one very exciting day as we will be visiting the Twelve Apostles. We have been there decades ago and this will be different as we are visiting with our kiddos.

The drive to the Great Ocean Road was pretty much tough but we enjoyed the beautiful views on our way. The views definitely kept you awake for the 2 hours plus drive.

We finally arrived at our destination and the kids were excited to see what is the Twelve Apostles all about. The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestones stacks off the sore of Port Campbell National Park by the Great Ocean Road.

It was a long walk before we arrived at the beautiful Twelve Apostles viewing point where you are able to see the limestones. Seven of the original eight stacks remain standing at the Twelve Apostles viewpoint, after one collapsed in July 2005. Though the view from the promontory by the Twelve Apostles never included twelve stacks, additional stacks—not considered part of the Apostles group—are located to the west within the national park.
We set off towards our Torquay and we did a few stopped over to get some pictures taken as the views on the outside were too beautiful to pass. We arrived at Apollo Bay and decided to have lunch before continuing our journey. We checked out a few restaurants and dined at Apollo Bay Seafood Café where the lunch was superb. The seafood was fresh and tasty. So yummy!

After our delicious luncheon, we set off to our final destination, Wyndham Torquay. This is one super nice apartment style hotel. The room is spacious and well equipped with living room and a kitchenette. Torquay is quite a beautiful place but their shops and eateries closed very early and we ended up buying some food from Coles and prepared our own simple dinner.
