When we arrived at Queen Victoria Market, it was already pretty crowded
with many came to do their usual marketing while we tourist, came to check out
the place and hope to get some good deals. Met up with Hairon, my buddy whom I hardly
meet in Singapore due to her work schedule but we managed to meet in Melbourne!
Hahahaahah…. We walked around the market and the kids got familiar with her and
started to hang out with her.
We found a cool coffee joint, Market Lane Coffee and decided to chillax.
I would say that this would be the first time we enjoyed having coffee and
mussels outdoor under the sun. I believed back in SIN, we will be avoiding the
sun and preferred to sit indoors as the heat can be unbearable. The coffee and
the mussels were excellent and I do recommend anyone who visit Queen Vic to give
it a try. Seriously, you won’t be disappointed.
We checkout their Fresh Meat Market too and I was amazed how reasonable
priced the fresh seafood and meat were. At that moment, I wanted to buy all the
seafood and meat back to the apartment and hopefully whipped up a good meal
with low budget.
I was really glad to spend the morning with Hairon but we had to part as
she was heading for her Harry Potter Musical while we will have our celebrating
with little pumpkin at Luna Park. When we arrived at the theme park, it was not
as crowded as we expected. The theme park wasn’t the biggest but good enough
for the kids to have some fun.
Lady Faith braved to take on the Viking ride on her own and I noticed
that her face expressions changed as the ride took its peak! Hhahahahaahah…. She
can’t wait to get out of the ride the moment it stopped and when she came down,
she hurried to hug me and told me that it was the scariest ride she ever taken
and she will never take it again! Hahaahahahah….
There were many other rides in the park and little pumpkin was happy to
take on some rides like the flying elephant alone due to height limit and train
ride was pretty fun too though it was just a short ride around the park. There were
also game stalls and we decided to spend the rest of the coins to win some prizes
and Lady Faith never failed to win her little sista a prize. Thumps Up!
We took a stroll down the Yarra River around Southbank. This is certainly
a place we have to visit and perhaps to find a good restaurant to celebrate
little pumpkin’s birthday. Love this area as it was filled with great street
shows and busking around the riverbank.
We chanced upon this Italian Restaurant at the shopping mall but we had
to wait as we did not have reservation. However, we were early so, they allowed
us to be seated but we had to finish our meals in an hour’s time. When we were seated,
we informed the staff who served us that we are celebrating our daughter’s
birthday and she kindly recommended the dessert as a cake for the celebration.
La Camera, a pretty good Italian Restaurant along Southbank and the food
was great though I did not really enjoy the pizza as it was too huge and taste
of the pizza was so-so… the rest of the dishes were great and I gave a thump up
for the service staff. They did not chase us away though we exceeded the
timeframe given but they given us enough time to celebrate our cutie pie’s
birthday without any worries.
It is a long day outing today and the kiddos were so tired that they
turned in early after shower while hubby and I enjoyed our wine with cheese at
the comfort of our home discussing the itinerary for tomorrow.
