Chinese New Year’s Eve

We are almost entering the Year of Dragon and yearly, we gathered at my Auntie’s place for reunion dinner. During our younger days, our parents and aunties were the ones who will prepare the food for us but now, we, the younger generations were the one preparing the food instead.

We planned our dishes way before the reunion dinner so that there will not be repeated dishes. Despite having planned ahead, we found out that my aunty bought additional fresh beef and fish balls for the steamboat!

As usual, we started off with tossing the Yu Sheng. This year, both little ones got themselves involved too. Faith was very happy tossing the vegetables with the help of papa and did not want to stop! Every toss came with good wishes and we hope the Dragon Year will be a smooth sailing one!

After that, everyone was seated at the table and started our cooking on the steamboat. There was so much food prepared till we had to leave some of the food in the fridge. Hahaahah…. We tried our very best to finish the food but there was too much.

I really like the time spent at my aunt’s place where all of us will gather at the living room to chat and we even try to plan for a holiday together. The kids had fun playing together while the adults chat about our younger days…
