Rie & Zhong Li’s Wedding

We have been waiting for this day since she announced to us in February. Since then, most of us started to count down and after she has selected her bridesmaids & sisters, our preparation began! I was really honored to be named her Maid-of-Honor and I was really excited for her.

As early as seven thirty this morning, we arrived at Rie’s place and started preparing for all the ‘food’ to feed the groom when he fetches her later. Susan prepared the underwear for the gents to put on before they enter the house… I prepared the LIME Juice, Sweet syrup and the tooth brush with special tooth paste… WASABI!

When the guys arrived around 8:20am, it’s a tradition for them to give a big red packet with the amount the sisters requested. As usual, they bargained and finally, we came to a generous amount of SD 888! Before allowing them to enter the house, Susan passed them the underwear to put on and man, the guys were spotting… we made them stood in a row and the words on the underwear made up of ‘I Luv Rie’… it was hilarious. It wasn’t that easy to get pass us, they did a 15 push ups and took a minute of rest before the 2nd segment.

Here it comes; first, they had to drink the ever sour raw LIME juice prepared for them, and then drink up the super SWEET syrup. The BITTERGOUD was next and finally after all the food and drinks, it’s time to brush their teeth with WASABI before meeting the bride. Zhong Li and his brothers were really spotting and obedient! Well, they all passed the test and before Zhong Li opened the room door where the bride was, he was requested to read out the TEN COMMANDMENTS! While he was reading it aloud, it was very well received by Rie’s mum and friends… the moment had arrived, he received his bride at last!

After family & friends pictures, we proceeded to St. Regis for her solemnization ceremony. When we arrived, most of her relatives and cousins were already there. I was emotional about weddings and I tear during their exchanged of vows. I am really happy for her and Zhong Li…

To be continued…
