Farewell & Welcome Dinner

It was about three months ago when mummy Florence announced to us that she will be retiring at the end of this year. If that wasn’t enough to kill us, Susan tendered her resignation at the end of November!! It was indeed a double blow to all of us.

Our boss, Mr. Suganou kindly arranged a farewell dinner for both of them and at the same time, welcomes Katryne who joined us on first of December replacing mummy Florence. He arranged dinner at Ichiban-tei located at Robertson Quay and he mentioned that he knows the boss very well. He even kindly ordered the dishes before hand.

When we arrived, we were led to a cozy private room that could accommodate 10 of us. Our dinner began with the delicious octopus starter with sesame sauce. It was impressive. A huge platter of sushi was served shortly and followed by the pretty looking potato salads. I was really happy to have potato salads as I wasn’t able to have raw sushi… sighz….

The deep fried crispy fish was something interesting and yummy! Linda was overjoyed when the deep fried pork cutlet arrived on the dinning table. I had to say that the pork cutlet was a winner! Though it was deep fried but it wasn’t oily. The meat was tender and there were onions in between the tender juicy meat. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!!

Yes, food and more glorious food arrived on our dinning table, deep fried dumpling, fish cakes with wasabi and grilled fish. I wasn’t a great fan of fish therefore I skipped that… when we thought that the food were almost done serving, there came a large platter of vegetables with seafood… we were told it’s for steamboat!!!! OMG!!! There weren’t anymore space for steamboat after drowning myself with those dumplings, pork cutlets and potato salads!

Boss knew that we were almost stomach filled; he took the opportunity to present his appreciation (gifts) to both Florence & Susan. That was quite a smart move from him I would say but that did not give me much time to digest the food!

Anyway, when the soup is ready, we poured in the whole platter and waited… though we were really stuffed but somehow we enjoyed the steamboat pretty much as the soup was GREAT! Finally we ended our dinner with desserts and a group picture.

Thank you Suganou-san for making this dinner happened and we will miss you mummy Florence & Susan! Welcome Katryne!
