Garden By The Bay Inspection

Our ‘Kan Jiong’ Spider boss will be expecting VIPs visiting Singapore at the end of this month and he is planning to bring the guest to our newly opened Garden By The Bay. Honestly, by right, the boss himself should go check out the place himself so that he will know what to expect but to him, he prefers his staff to do the inspection instead.

Both Yoyo and I went for the inspection anyway… we left after finishing up some morning duties and when we arrived, it was quite cloudy and cooling. We hopped onto the Garden Cruiser (which acts like a tram to bring you round the garden) and off we went. It was quite a pleasant ride with cool wind blowing through your hair and seeing the greenery was a wonderful experience.
The garden is pretty huge… there are couple of sections for the garden. For example; they have the Heritage Garden that housed Chinese Garden, Indian Garden & Malay Garden. All were designed differently with their own theme. It was somewhat impressive and in order to view the beautiful theme plants and flowers, you need to get down and do some walking which we opted out.

After an enjoyable 25 minutes ride on the Garden Cruiser, it was time for lunch. We spotted Bakerzin for our luncheon venue. However, they took so long to serve our food as it was co-incidentally their first day of operations.

After lunch, we proceeded to check out the two most talked about DOMES. We went for the Flower Dome as our first venue and it indeed WOW-ed us. It was simply beautiful when the automatic door opened. It was huge and super cooling! The scents of flowers were strong (of course) as it’s filled with all different kinds of flowers. We took our time to walk around and it was an amazing feeling. For me, it was an eye-opening experience as I was able to check out many different breeds of flowers and some in fact, that are some plants which I did not know they existed.

We went to check out the Cloud Forest next which gave us a totally different experience when the automatic door opened. The first thought was – WILL I GET WET? You might think I am being silly but it was really so moist that I thought it was caused by the huge indoor waterfall. The outlook of the waterfall somehow scares me but it was quite interesting to have an indoor waterfall. COOL!

We took the lift up to the 6th Floor and walked up to the ‘Lost World’ where it acts as a mysterious world high in the mountains. It housed a dense mixture of moisture plants that we don’t get to see it in our normal surroundings. Understand that most of them can only be found on a very moist surrounding and they also have an interesting plant – the carnivourous pitcher plants which usually seen in movies.

The whole experience at Garden By The Bay was a great one and can’t wait to organize a family outing soon.
