Weekend Get-Away

We have always wanted to visit Bintan Angsana but was either fully booked or it was too expensive for a short get-away.

This trip, being hubby’s advance birthday pressie, we finally made it to Bintan Angsana for a short get-away. When we arrived at the resort, it gave me a very homely fee but somehow, I was expecting more than just a plainly decorated lobby… (guess the website pictures were taken very well taken)…

We were served immediately and shortly we were in our room. The room size wasn’t as huge as it was shown in their website (therefore, never trust pictures) but the view was not too bad. We were given a pool view and a partial sea-view room. Pretty cool!!

We didn’t waste time and we headed straight to the pool for a swim though the sun was rather weak. The pool wasn’t big but a not a bad 20-meters length pool with a few private Jacuzzi corners.

For dinner, we dined at the Lotus Café, the same café where they will serve daily breakfast. When I checked out the menu, man….all was priced in USD! Mmmh…. it’s BINTAN, everything is priced in USD.

Hubby decided to have their local fried rice (nasi goreng) and I had a classic beef burger which was one of the cheaper items found on the menu. While waiting for our food to be served, we were given complimentary prawn crackers & balachan as our appetizers. It was delicious and the prawn crackers were freshly fried as it was served hot.

Our food didn’t take long to be served and man….the portion was quite big. The nasi goreng hubby ordered was tasty and I simply enjoyed my beef burger. The beef patty was thick and juicy! Mmmh… nothing like those we had at McDonald’s or Carl’s Junior… hhaahahaha…. It was really good though it cost USD 13! The burger was served with cheese fries which was pretty cool…the cheese wasn’t overflowing but wasn’t as much as I thought.

Will pray for sunny weather tomorrow as we will have a full day at the resort…
