A Visit To Capella

It has been quite a while since our boss Minowa-san invited us for lunch. Finally today, we are once again honored to lunch with him at Sentosa! I can’t recall when was my last visit to Sentosa but am sure it was ages!

We visited Capella; a newly opened luxurious hotel in Sentosa. I have heard so much about the hotel and very excited to be visiting today. When we arrived at the hotel, the exterior is almost like Raffles Hotel but somehow bigger. The building is already 100 years old and the surroundings were gorgeous. The hotel premises are really exclusive and they have two villas for long stay guest. We had a short tour around the hotel but were not able to view the rooms as we didn’t have enough time.

We went to their Chinese Restaurant, Cassia for lunch. When we entered the restaurant, we climbed a few flights of romantically lighted stairs before we arrived at the main hall of the restaurant. It was not very big but surely was very cozy and classy. I simply loved their furniture and the decors which gave me the homely feel. They have only one private room which has a separate living area, really cool!

Without delay, Minowa-san went straight to the menu and ordered some dim sums. Our starter was a small portion of a tofu top with shrimp with seafood sauce. It was good. Soon after, ‘Zhong San’ dumpling was served; it looked really cute and it tasted like our local ‘soon kueh’. Here comes our favorite siew mai top with baby abalone. That one was a winner definitely! The meat was juicy and ending it off with the soft baby abalone… that equals to YUMMY!

Then the beautifully decorated Xiao Long Bao was served. It was nice but we thought it was kind of dry! I mean… not enough soup inside. Next was the fried carrot cake with garlic… that one fantastic too. The fried dumpling was pretty meaty but was tasty! mmmh…. our favorite would be the wayu beef fried rice noodles… it was heavenly awesome!

We ordered chilled mango cream with pamelo and ice-cream and Minowa-san ordered the herbal jelly with sorbert. I enjoyed the chilled mango cream very much. I would give THUMPS UP for their food and service.
