Meeting Up After 2 Decades

Nope, you are not reading the title wrongly. I am finally meeting up with my ex-boss whom I have not met for about 2 decades. He visited Singapore 2 years ago but time was not on our side and ended up not being able to meet for dinner.

This time, he visited Singapore once again and we made an effort to meet even for a short luncheon which was really enjoyable and fruitful. I finally got to meet his family especially his lovely 16 yrs old daughter Sayaka. She is such a sweetie though she does not speak good English as her parents.

I am very thankful to Takita-san during his tenure in Singapore as my boss for a good 4 yrs and I had a great time working closely with him. He as a boss was fantastic, humble and very warm. Now that I am no longer his colleague, he is still keeping close connect with me all these years. So happy to have such a wonderful boss.

I was really happy that they managed to try new food at Tung Lok this time as they have been going back to the old favourite restaurants which he used to visit during his time here but now many have changed and I am glad that he and his family were happy with what I ordered.

Thank you Takita-san for taking up your precious time to meet up for lunch and I do hope we will meet again soon in Tokyo or in Singapore again soon in the near future.

Oreo Cupcakes & Walnut Brownies

I am really happy that I am getting support from my ex-colleagues when they start ordering cupcakes and brownies from me. I know that my cakes are not the best but at least it is not too bad. 😊 I am really thankful to everyone who have given me a chance to bake for you. It is truly my privilege.

St. Anne’s Church Easter Fiesta

St. Anne’s Church Catechism Class were so thoughtful to have an Easter Fiesta for the kids and we parents contributed some pop luck food for this cool party.

We dropped off the kids at the party and we went for the Easter mass and the kids had a ball of a time painting, colouring and playing some games at the fiesta. Though it was a short party but it was fun time for the kids to bond with their friends.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is a moveable feast that falls one week before Easter Sunday. Christian worshipers celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, which took place the week before his death and resurrection. For many Christian churches, Palm Sunday, often referred to as Passion Sunday, marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.

My Kind Of Breakfast

First of all, I am not a breakfast person at all (those who knows me very well) and I rather sleep in to have breakfast.

However, I do enjoy spending time at the coffee shop or coffee joint with my mum ever since I have stopped working. Usually, we will spend our breakfast time at our nearest shopping mall before we start our daily marketing.

Though I am not a breakfast person, I certainly cannot resist the eggs that is placed on my table. I will usually finish up the eggs for my mum as she does not like soft boiled eggs. Soft boiled eggs always reminded me of my dad as he used to make that for me as breakfast before I go to school. 

I remembered the soft-boiled eggs my dad made were really runny and super tasty though it was just so simple and plain. I love my eggs to be runny but it is so difficult to get it spot on. Anyway, I am still an egg fan no matter how the eggs are done. 😊

KungFu Tea

Okay, I am still searching for the best brown sugar milk drink though I am a huge fan of Tiger. I chanced upon this Kungfu Tea in Hougang and decided to try it out.

There was no queue and we managed to get our drink pretty quickly. Upon receiving the drink, the lady over the counter told me that I have to consume the drink within half an hour. I was like…. Errr… you mean I have to sip up so quickly???

Anyway, I did not finish it up within 30 minutes but slightly longer. The tea was okay, slightly sweet to my liking and no sugar adjustment required. In my opinion, if there is no queue, and there is no other option, I would probably go for it again. 😊

We’ll Be Back Soon

This morning, we woke up early for our breakfast to beat the crowd at the resort main restaurant. As we were early, it was less crowded and we were able to enjoy our breakfast in peace. Though I am no breakfast person but I tried to dig in too as they have my favourite bee hoon with the sambal chilli which was so yummy!

After our breakie, we returned to our villa to wait for our transport for the treatment once again. Today, I am excited to have my conditioned cream bath for my hair and I remembered the last time I missed it due to their spa renovation.

After an hour of treatment, we headed back to our villa to pack up and relax till our check out time. It was a great outing with the girls and I am sure we will plan another back here again in the very near future. Join us anyone? 

Extended Family Girl’s Trip

We have been planning for this all girl’s trip for the longest time and after a long discussion, we finally made it to go on our own trip. We are heading to Montigo Batam finally and we were all excited about the long-awaited trip together.

The last time I went on an all girl’s trip was couple of years back and I had so much fun with my crazy buddies. All hell broke loose and went mad in our own villa for the good 24 hours. Hahahahaah… 

We set off early today and arrived at Montigo safely. We were checked in almost immediately as there was no crowd on a Friday morning. As we were still early for our spa treatments, the staff were so nice that they allowed us to check into our room and sent the spa buddy to pick us up when it was almost time.

We all enjoyed our spa treatment so much that we got really hungry after that. We were glad that we arranged our treatments in advance and now we will have the rest of the day chilling in our villa. We headed down to the café for our luncheon and we ordered some of their local food to share. It was yummy and we enjoyed the pizza the most amongst all the dishes.

After our luncheon, we returned to our villa and changed into our swimming costume and into the pool we went! We prepared wine, snacks and even music for as our entertainment while we dipped in the pool and chat the afternoon away. It was so relaxing to just chill in the pool, pretending like crazy rich Asians sipping on a glass of wine and enjoying snacks…. Hahaahahahaha (ooooppppsss… crazy rich Asians sips on expensive wine and caviar or cheese…)

When the evening came, we went to the seafood restaurant for our dinner and enjoyed the sunset together. It was such a fruitful day for us and we were so relaxed that we just chilled at the restaurant after our dinner. 

Returned to the villa and spent some TV time together finishing up the other bottle of wine and the snacks. We chatted the night away and looking forward to our next treatment tomorrow.

Lady Faith’s Ballet Exams

This is the time of the year once again when all ballerinas will be put to test. After a good 6 months of training, today is the day of her Grade 2 examinations.

We allowed her to skip school today as we would want her to have enough rest for the examinations and at the same time, to calm her nerves. Sent her to the examination venue after her brunch and as we were travelling, she was telling me how nervous and scared she was but I managed to calm her down by assuring her that she will do very well.

While I left her with her teacher, I went off to do some marketing and lunch before I return to pick her. Actually, I was nervous for her too and was checking my watch while I was doing my marketing and praying for her at the same time.

When I returned to the venue to pick her, I saw her in the waiting room and she is done! She told me that the examiner was nice and she hope that she has done well. Honestly, I am not concerned about the results that she gets but the effort and passion she has put in all this while. I am proud of her regardless of the results coz’ I think she is the best ballerina in my eyes. 😊

It’s Good To Be Back

It’s been quite a long time since I last came for Wall Rope Yoga. I believed I have stopped since last October and yes, I have been busy with many stuffs if you asked me why haven’t I been doing yoga.

Finally, after a long break, I am finally back. I am pretty excited to workout with my ex-colleagues and I am happy that we are keeping connected by doing yoga together weekly. It is always fun to workout with your close friends as you can keep the friendship burning.

When I arrived early (as usual), I was a little worried as I have stopped practicing yoga for quite a long time and kind of scared… ahahahaah… but when the class started, I was back to my normal self and managed to do the exercises like before. Woohoo…

It was quite an intense workout with many different stretching routines and some were pretty new to me and my body…. I am now preparing myself for an aching body in 2 days’ time…
