Dinner In JB

We heard so much about the dinner place that our bosses visited in Johor Bahru and we decided to pay a visit too.

Leng booked a 14-seater van to take us to JB and it was really an exciting outing on a Thursday night. All of us left office on the dot so that we can arrive early for dinner as it will take about an hour or so to reach the dinner place from our office.

We arrived at 7:15pm and just in time for dinner. Ran, who has been to the restaurant couple of times with our bosses told us what was nice. We decided to order their set dinner and as usual, we ordered some extra dishes (a-la-carte) too.

The place is very simple but pretty crowded. I guessed we were the only Singaporeans in that restaurant. Jang Won, Korean BBQ was interesting. They served about 10 small appetizers and set up the charcoal at our table. A waiter was attached to our table to cook the meat for us and once it’s cooked, he put them on the plates and started changing the BBQ plate. We thought that was really clean and thoughtful.

The food was good especially the beef… we like the steam egg too. We were surprised by the taste of the smoked duck we ordered… it tasted like bacon and was chewy. As it was getting hot, we ordered beer to cool us down and we mixed the beer with spite which added some flavor to it!

After the BBQ was done, they came out with the pot of kimchi soup and kaiye ordered 2 noodles to be added to the soup. Man… it was GREAT!!!! Ya… it tasted very good though it was only instant noodles… we were all so full that we can’t take in their free ice-cream as our desserts… the bill came out to the RM828 for 11 pax. We thought it was pretty reasonable or rather cheap for BBQ dinner with alcohol.

While waiting for our transportation, we went to check out their convenient stores nearby the restaurant. Nothing really interesting… anyway, guess I will be back to this restaurant with my family in the near future…
