Jessie’s Birthday Celebration

It was our buddy Jessie’s big day today and we invited her for dinner at Double Bay located at Raffles City. I remembered her telling me that she would like to dine there again as she seemed to enjoyed the fish & chips very much.

I contacted our ex-colleagues to join as she would be delighted to see them coz’ we don’t meet often. As soon as we were seated, all were discussing what to order coz’ all the dishes seemed interesting. Finally, we decided to order two Caesar salads, two seafood baskets, two mushroom soups, two fish dishes cooked in different style and two pastas to be shared by all.

We were glad that we ordered to share as the portions were pretty big for starters. Some of us enjoyed the seafood baskets particularly as it was awesome. It consisted of chunky fries, calamari, fried fish and tempura style prawns. Pretty awesome spread I would say. I loved the mushroom soup too… I was really surprised to see a half-boiled egg in the soup… it was really rare though.

Most of us were pretty stuffed after having those starters and when the mains arrived, it was almost like having desserts… I liked the crispy fried Australian Barramundi; the meat tasted so fresh and sweet. As for their pastas, mmmmh…. I would give them a five out of ten. Not that impressive to be honest…

Linda suggested that we should go for coffee somewhere else instead of having desserts and yes, we went to Toast Box. It was really nice to have something more local as ‘desserts’ after a heavy dinner. Hahhaahaha…..

Anyway, Happy Birthday buddy and may you be filled with loads of happiness and be in the pink of health!!
