The ‘Rambutans’ Gathering

We were invited to the Tan’s place on Saturday for a couple of celebrations… mmh… welcoming the new Year 2008, belated birthday for Vivian and early reunion dinner for the Rambutans!
Thres & me

The Tan’s kindly prepared steamboat for us and the food spread were pretty good I tell you. We have beef, pork, Yong Tau Foo, fish balls, mushrooms, liver, hot dogs, vegetables, ohta etc… the salmon stock was good too man…
Steam boat time!
Surprised that Bird posed for the cam! Usually she will be too busy!

The Kids

We started dinner around 7pm when everyone arrived and knowing our group, when it comes to food, we can be very serious. After settling the dinner for the kids, we started our feast. The steamboat has duo usage where you can steam or BBQ the food you like. We ended up frying most of the food as we are the oily bunch! Hahahahaah…. We tried out different style of frying using different food and it turned out delicious!

After dinner, we had the cake cutting ceremony for Vivian. She was surprised and the Chocolate fudge cake was from Jane’s Cake Station. Though it was belated but we surely remembered. The cake was delicious and I could say it’s better than Lana Cake (hey, I am no chocolate person but I like this cake!)

It was game time. The adults became young again when we were given the PS2 controllers. We were all racing and playing boxing games with Scottie who is a great racer. For his young age of 6, he is one expert in cars and knowing what car is best for which race course. My goodness, it not easy to win him man… but I did! Ho ho ho…
Boxing game
Waiting excitingly for Mohamad Ali to get his 'victory side walk!'

It is always usual that we will all go home with a heavy stomach and loads of funny memories each time we visit the Tans! It’s really great to spend the Saturday evening with friends and indeed it’s truly well-spent!

Thank you Theresa & Zen for the wonderful food and gathering that you have greatly hosted us on Saturday! Cheers!

Was soo glad to see everyone ditch their diet plans to whack what's been prepared.
