I Love Bangkok

Despite the current situation or perhaps I should say… State of Emergency, we went ahead with our original plan to visit Thailand. We read so much about the protest in Bangkok and even our own government informed Singaporeans to postpone their trips.

The airplane was not as crowded but it was certainly comfortable as we got our own space and wasn’t that noisy. I enjoyed the flight very much than usual. When we arrived in Bangkok, we looked out for our hotel limo as we heard it was safer to use them instead of the usual hotel limo which was many times cheaper.


It was our 1st time taking the hotel limo in any country and it was quite an experience I must say. The driver was professional and the Benz was definitely more comfortable than the usual van we took. They served us water in the car and the 40 minutes ride was fantastic.

We arrived at Conrad Bangkok and the hotel was situated in a business district which is pretty far from the main shopping paradise. We were escorted up to our room and it was just simply great. The room was big and I simply loved the bathroom. Our view wasn’t great though as it was surrounded by office buildings.





After freshening up, we went out shopping right away. Took the hotel shuttle bus to the nearest train station and took their MRT. It was pretty convenient to travel around in Bangkok with that service without using taxi. The city was not too crowded and it definitely made shopping much easier than before. There were no queues at the shopping mall cashier and no need to fight for fitting rooms.


Our 1st dinner was at our all time favourite Coca Steamboat. It was much cheaper to eat there than back home. We ordered quite a bit of dishes and we ate at our own pace. It was so good and enjoyable.



The night ended off lying down on the heavenly bed… snnnzzzzzzzzz……

Outing With The Galz

We used to meet pretty often back in those days and time spent with friends became lesser when all of us started working and slogging our everyday work life… I am really glad and blessed that no matter how long we have not seen or chat with each other, there is always something to talk about whenever we meet.

This evening, met up with my crazy friends whom I know when I started our ‘Time Tables’ in primary school. We have been crazy since then and till date, we are still CRAZY! Hahahahaahaha… It was great to have conversation over a simple dinner. There was so much to catch up as our last outing was couple of months back.

After dinner, we chilled out at coffee bean and continue our talks and though it was a short night, I thoroughly enjoyed the moments with them.

Yan Ting

It’s another lunch date with our boss and this time round, he brought us to Yan Ting at St. Regis which was so-called known as the new ‘SIX STARS’ hotel worrrh….

Well, I was extremely excited to visit this hotel as I have never been there. When we arrived at the entrance, my impression was like… ‘woww… I felt like Vivian in Pretty Woman’… and when I entered the lobby, it was nice but somehow I felt COLD! Aiya… not the air-con that was too strong la… it’s too quite for a hotel! I was surprised that there were neither check-in counters nor any other service counters nearby… I wondered why and where the hell they check themselves in. Overall, I could only say that it’s a very nice, quiet stylish hotel.

We lunched at Yan Ting, their one & only Chinese restaurant. It was located on the 2nd floor and décor was gorgeous and quiet. I could figure out the quietness as there were only 3 tables occupied during lunch, man… can you beat that!


We were ushered to a cozy table where tables were separated only by curtains. It was indeed interesting décor and environment but somehow the service wasn’t that fantastic. After placing our dim sums orders, Linda asked for chili padi but they took quite a while to serve. Only after reminding them, they told us that it had ran out of it and they were cutting the fresh ones then. I was taken by surprised for that sort of service in a so-called SIX STARS hotel lor.

Minowa-san ordered quite a bit of dim sums to share. Despite the poor service, the food was considerably good but not fantastic. I enjoyed the Sichuan soup that boss ordered but not the char siew buns and the pig’s trotter in vinegar. It was rather sweet instead of sour. Sigh…totally disappointed man.

Lunch With My Kai-Ye

It’s been years since my Edmund Kai-ye retired from my company. I finally managed to get everyone together for lunch today and was really looking forward to seeing him after a long silence.

We met for lunch together with Linda, Mummy Florence and Woon Lee at Crystal Jade Suntec. As our office is nearby, we arrived early and placed our order as we only have an hour of freedom to eat!!! Kai-ye was punctual as always and it was really nice to see him again. He has lost quite a bit of weight compared to the past but he sure looked so much healthier!

We started taking some pictures before the food arrived and it was all fun. The food Linda ordered was just enough for everyone and it was really enjoyable. We should do that more often… Miss you Kai-ye…

Alpha Musicians Party

We ended the last session of Post Alpha Gathering last night and we are looking forward to our rest next couple of months. We have served the Alpha continuously for the last 5 months and it was indeed a fruitful and meaning journey for me as I am considered a newbie.

The ‘Hot Mama’ Emily organized a KTV gathering at Party World International Building and boy I was excited about it. Met Patsy and hot mama for dinner at Hoshigaoka at Scotts Isetan as that was the most ‘available’ restaurant during peak hour dinner time.

While having dinner, we were also waiting for Lynn to join us since she called to inform that she will be on her way down. I ordered the recommended set from the menu and it was Steak Ju. The picture looked really good and YES, it tasted fantastic man… the beef was so tender that it actually melted in my mouth. Nope, it’s not Kobe beef, not sure what beef but it was certainly delicious.

After dinner, we wasted no time and headed to Party World. As usual, we were early and we started ‘warming up’ our voices. The cozy room was good for 8 of us and Emily told the waiters that we will be ordering bottles so… room charges & snacks will be waived. Cool stuff man…









Soon after, Philip and Irene arrived and our Hokkien KTV king Alvin arrived quite late as he was at St. James before that. Aiyo… he is the real CHEONGSTER man!!! Hahaahahah….



Hubby came to join us for awhile but due to work, we left early but we surely had fun…

Minowa-san who went to Berlin on a business trip was back in 2 days ago and he invited us for lunch today. He told me that one of his friends recommended him a new Italian restaurant located in Amoy Street. He thought it would be nice to try it out together for the 1st time.

The little restaurant wasn’t difficult to find though it hides near a corner of Amoy Street. It was a small and cozy restaurant which probably could take in not more than 50 persons. Minowa-san told us that the Chef was Japanese and he wondered if he could cook Italian cuisine well.

We ordered set lunch to play safe… when our appetizers were served; I was really amazed by the presentation. It was a CUP of soup, a mini-bowl salad and 2 slices of pork. Very cute indeed and it was my very 1st time having to SIP the soup… very interesting indeed.

I ordered Seafood Risotto and thank God it wasn’t MINI! Hahahaah… it was really delicious. Minowa-san had the beef and Linda ordered Pene pasta. I would say… all were GREAT! We were impressed by the food and the cute food presentation and Steady La… Jap Chef!

The dessert was tiny I must say but guess after the starters and the main, it’s good enough for our stomach though it was mini…
